They moved to a new location on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. One of the most friendliest and honest people I have ever dealt with.

I contain multitudes…read more 1. I enjoy the modern world. I like being able to go to a website, filter all my options, see all the specs of a product, select which one I want, pay for it and get it delivered without having to leave my house, or sometimes even talk to a person. 2. I also love supporting local businesses. I like being able to call a number where a human being (a really nice one named Leah) picks up the phone right away, and can answer all my questions. I like when someone like Leah can tell me what they have in stock that fits my needs, and how soon I could get it delivered. I like that Leah can give me a good price, and I like that the price includes delivery, installation, and taking away the old item that I'm replacing. I really like that the item in question (a fridge) got delivered when they said it would, and that there were no problems, or hidden charges. If #1 above resonates with you, HL Snyder is probably not the place you want to shop. Their website has a few options, but you're not going to be able to see their entire selection, and handle everything online. You may have to speak to a person, or go into the showroom. If #2 sounds like you, give HL Snyder a call, and they'll fix you up very nicely.

What went well? Everything…read more I walked in looking for a fridge, Jeanine was super knowledgeable and realistic about what would best suit my family. While I was there, I asked about washing machines - and ended up coming back in seconds after I left multiple times because I kept thinking of questions! Also, they had a bunch of vintage appliances - it was just neat to look at! I called about a week later to order the fridge, two days later Chris called to schedule delivery (included in the price of the fridge, as well as taking away my old fridge!) They also asked if I was without a fridge or just an upgrade - which I SO appreciated. It was NOT an "emergency," but the mere fact that they asked goes to show: they're a local, family business and they get it. Two gents showed up on the day and time they said they'd come, accommodating my small back road, and got the old fridge out and new one in with no mess - all while chatting with my helpful 5 year old and tolerating my neurotic dog. The entire process was less than an hour! I did check Lowe's/Home Depot and found this exact fridge for about $100 less - but I doubt that includes delivery and take away. Snyder's also services everything they sell. Another instance where shopping local is so worth it! They've got another long term customer in me!

I hope other owners in this company step in and prevent you from running it into the ground. I gave Sohns multiple opportunities to fix the issue but other consumers should know how you practice business and that even with purchasing the extended wareanty, they are not bound to call you for that service. At the direction of the company you sell the policy for, it is not recommended we call you directly and the entire process goes faster if the consumer contacts them directly. They are also aware of the service issues in the more recent years. I'm sorry you can't find my order(s) but you also can't change your attitude or the past so you looking up my order would be of no help to anyone. Sohns used to be the place to go but with the younger generation taking over, they do NOT provide the same level of service. Ethan told us that installation was an "extra service" they offered and after coming back 3 times, still could not install the appliance correctly and refused to get the correct parts for proper installation. We offered to pay for installation, which is when we were told they do not offer that service. DO NOT CALL SOHNS FOR YOUR WARRANTY. CALL THE COMPANY DIRECTLY AND ASK FOR ANYONE BUT SOHNS to come repair your appliance. They sell it like it has to be them, but it doesn't. Buying local is no longer the best option. POOR customer service.

They called to let me know when the appliances would be in and when they would be installed. I chose them over a competitor twenty-five miles closer to me because of their reputation for honest dealing and skilled service technicians. Over the past twenty years, I have found this to be the case. I recently replaced my original dw with a new Asko from Ackerman's, whose technician and I ran into problems that called for an oscillating saw (neither of us had one and it would have taken an hour to locate and obtain one from a neighbor) but were solved with hammer, chisel, muscle, and skill (none of it mine). Really impressive.

I spoke to the owner at length on this, to include cancelling the first delivery date so that he could accommodate this request. The owner pushed back at this request originally, but ultimately acquiesced; even saying he would have to deliver it himself. Today, the appliances and delivery crew arrive which included the excluded delivery person, one of a two man crew. I should've refused delivery. I immediately called the owner to express my displeasure, and his response is "I forgot, sorry.". I start expressing my displeasure in no uncertain terms and he states, "I'm sorry, you've never made a mistake?" "What do you want me to do about it?" This was not a mistake, he purposely refused to accommodate a customer's request, violating the most basic customer service premise. And to compound it by lying has sent me off the deep end. If he had said there were no other choices on delivery personnel, I would have gone somewhere else. And he knew that, which is why he was deceptive. And this was not the only problem with this transaction. No call back, the order went to back order for a month with no notification from the business. Two stars because delivery person Jeremy was capable, the other guy was literally on the verge of a coronary, and he wasn't even doing much. I bought an entire kitchen from this business previously (previous owner), and my only recourse is to never do business with this owner again. And what makes matters worse? I want to do business with local businesses----but my experience doing so, to include this guy, is they don't employ good business practices, this interaction as an example----very disappointing!

I subsequently ordered Miele stackable washer dryer set and Jake and Don did another great job getting them in and installed. I would have given a 5 star review on both appliances and delivery but the stupidly expensive green european Miele washing machine arrived from the factory with an error code that required service under warranty. Took almost three weeks to get resolved with one diagnostic service call and one repair part service call. Having said all that, Alex the service guy was aces! They succeed because they…read moreare everywhere, they often make it easy to shop with them, and because they can often undercut the smaller local spots when it comes to prices. I made the mistake of ordering a gas range from one of these giant corporations, and it turned out to be a giant problem. They delivered but couldn't handle the installation, and then they couldn't take the stove with them, and then the guys who came to pick it up were rude and caused more issues, etc. So I did what I should've done, and I called Earl B. Feiden, and they helped me out, and solved my problem. I got to talk to an actual person (thanks Ken!), and I laid out what I needed (a gas range in a non-standard size), and where the potential problem might arise (it needed to be converted to propane), and they handled it like pros. Sometimes it may cost you a little more time and a tiny bit more hassle (if you consider talking to an actual person a hassle, not a pleasure like I do) to go with the smaller shop, but I highly recommend buying local. It worked out for me with Earl B. Feiden. And in the end, the range I got ended up being cheaper than the one from the big box store anyway.

I found…read morea really good deal on a rooftop tent for my Jeep and I was so excited I found it at this price. They're about $2k after taxes and shipping and this one was $250. And I haven't found anything remotely close to that price. Only used a few times it's in great shape. Only problem was, it doesn't fit in the trunk, hence the truck rental. So I booked the truck for all of today, got the confirmation and everything. In the morning, I go to pick it up & I check my emails just to make sure I booked it for the location closest to me and not another location, and saw a new email from Home Depot with the subject line: "Your reserved item is out of stock.", followed up with "Your reservation for Sunday at 11am has been cancelled. WE'RE SORRY." sent at 9:30am. So 90 minutes before scheduled pickup. I go into the store & go to the Rental Desk, and I explain that I had a Truck Rental for 11am and that they cancelled my reservation an hour and a half prior. Their answer was, "We don't have those types of trucks for rental." In another scenario with a different set of circumstance, this answer would be totally acceptable. However, if the location doesn't have that type of vehicle, the website advices this with an error message and denies you from booking the reservation. But this was not the case for this vehicle, obviously, because I paid for and recieved confirmation for the reservation. So now, I have To cancel vacation reservations and plans, and lose out on non refundable deposits because Home Depot's IT department can't do a simple task. And sure, coding is hard for the average person, but that's their job. That's what corporations like Home Depot pay them the big bucks. And knowing a little bit about coding myself, that's not something difficult to do. They already have the function for other vehicle rental choices that aren't available at my location so they even already have the code to make it "inert" or put it in an "inactive state". I sent an email to corporate advising of what just happened. The one thing I will say is they were quick to respond. The unfortunate part was that is just an apology and that they understood my frustration. No remedy. No solution to the problem. I can't express how disappointing this was to cancel my vacation plans. As an investor, I am so thoroughly disappointed in Home Depot, being a $334/Share corporation bringing in over $40 Billion in revenue each quarter, and they can't even have a properly working website. Home Depot cut 800 corporate jobs on January 28, 2026. Either they trimmed too much fat in the IT department or failed to hire someone competent in replace of the people they fired to fatten their pockets. I hope Market Makers are actively shorting your stock.
