I had a Truck Rental booked for today, which I booked yesterday. It was for an 8' Flatbed. I found a really good deal on a rooftop tent for my Jeep and I was so excited I found it at this price. They're about $2k after taxes and shipping and this one was $250. And I haven't found anything remotely close to that price. Only used a few times it's in great shape. Only problem was, it doesn't fit in the trunk, hence the truck rental. So I booked the truck for all of today, got the confirmation and everything. In the morning, I go to pick it up & I check my emails just to make sure I booked it for the location closest to me and not another location, and saw a new email from Home Depot with the subject line: "Your reserved item is out of stock.", followed up with "Your reservation for Sunday at 11am has been cancelled. WE'RE SORRY." sent at 9:30am. So 90 minutes before scheduled pickup. I go into the store & go to the Rental Desk, and I explain that I had a Truck Rental for 11am and that they cancelled my reservation an hour and a half prior. Their answer was, "We don't have those types of trucks for rental." In another scenario with a different set of circumstance, this answer would be totally acceptable. However, if the location doesn't have that type of vehicle, the website advices this with an error message and denies you from booking the reservation. But this was not the case for this vehicle, obviously, because I paid for and recieved confirmation for the reservation. So now, I have To cancel vacation reservations and plans, and lose out on non refundable deposits because Home Depot's IT department can't do a simple task. And sure, coding is hard for the average person, but that's their job. That's what corporations like Home Depot pay them the big bucks. And knowing a little bit about coding myself, that's not something difficult to do. They already have the function for other vehicle rental choices that aren't available at my location so they even already have the code to make it "inert" or put it in an "inactive state". I sent an email to corporate advising of what just happened. The one thing I will say is they were quick to respond. The unfortunate part was that is just an apology and that they understood my frustration. No remedy. No solution to the problem. I can't express how disappointing this was to cancel my vacation plans. As an investor, I am so thoroughly disappointed in Home Depot, being a $334/Share corporation bringing in over $40 Billion in revenue each quarter, and they can't even have a properly working website. Home Depot cut 800 corporate jobs on January 28, 2026. Either they trimmed too much fat in the IT department or failed to hire someone competent in replace of the people they fired to fatten their pockets. I hope Market Makers are actively shorting your stock. read more

Doing home remodeling using a contractor. I was able to speak to a delightful associate In flooring Nikki who actually spent time explaining the various styles of flooring available and what to avoid. The Ordering and pick up was easy and 2 pallets of flooring was delivered to my contractor outside the location. Everything from floors, lighting, locks we purchased here and having a good contractor helps make things come together. Friendly staff even asked if we needed help (which we did). Way better than in Brooklyn. read more

Ordered a door for delivery. Got notifications that it was on the way then suddenly they chose not to deliver. I called customer service to get an update, they left me on hold for 30 minutes and hung up. They're lazy, pick and choose when to deliver, and couldn't care less about customer service. Ordered an item was to be delivered in June, wasn't started going to HD to get a refund, well it took some time but Glenda Tiffany and Samantha worked tirelessly to get the refund to happen, rarely do you see customer service go above and beyond like they did. We went to get pvc panels and one employee said he had to help someone first, he would be right back, well we waited 25 min and we saw him and we asked him, any luck? So he said I told u I am helping someone else, and we watched him park and go in the back with another employee- (obviously he was done) So in the mean time we asked another employee that was working the dept as well, so he scanned it and said he would go look, mind u it says their were 24 of the panels left. So find another 20 min we found him and we asked him the same thing, any luck? No he said! What the heck is wrong with these employees, he actually said he came back to tell us. but we weren't there, BS!! Sad, sad store, will never go back! read more

Home Depot had a great selection and was very well organized. Any time that I've shopped here, I've always found what I'm looking for. When I shop here, any time that I'm looking for something and I can't find it, I ask an employee and they always show me and provide very good customer service. The only thing that disappointed me was that I went in to buy some plaster (25 lbs) and they had some left, which was good. The only problem was that the ones that they had left all had holes in the bags. So, when I picked one up, the plaster went all over my hands and shirt, and even some got on my jeans! So, if the bags are ripped, they should not be selling them. Though, when I checked out, a nice woman tried to tape the bag closed. Other than that, the store is well organized. I would recommend this store to others. read more

Don't go here if you need anything from one of the floor staff. They are no where to be seen. Especially puzzling when you need something like window blinds cut. I walked the floor for 15 Mins looking for someone to cut blinds. When I walked out I saw about 6 staff shooting the shit by the registers. They weren't on the registers, just hanging. I have never heard the words "can I help you find something" at this, or any, Home Depot store. The checkout staff is very friendly and I have never had an issue. There is a huge selection, and I can always find what I need, but at the expense of roaming long aisles. I prefer the local hardware stores for mainstream items. read more

It says there are 6 Everbilt Coveralls in stock in the Poughkeepsie store today in Aisle 21, Bay 19. Go to the store and there is no such thing in Aisle 21 Bay 19 or anything remotely like it there. Nobody in the store knows where these things are or if they even have them. There is something kind of like them (different material different manufacturer), not in a bay, but hanging on the end of the shelving in aisle 6. Where are they keeping the 6 everbilt items I was looking for? Does anybody know? This is a common problem in their stores. The entry for a product (stock status and location) for some store is wildly inaccurate. Go to the store and the people working there don't know since they depend on the website's disinformation also. You can spend hours just wandering around sometimes hoping to accidentally see the item or run into some worker who just may have seen it. That's a huge waste of time relying on their inaccurate website to shop from in their stores. Doesn't work for customers, doesn't work for retail workers either. Workers are nice enough. Don't call a HELP number, you'll be trapped in the menu system for the rest of your life. read more

They don't like to plug in the equipment they rent out, my the equipment I rented was low battery and I had to reschedule the job wasting 4 people's time and my money. When I called and spoke with them they insulted me with 15$ discount to cover the thousands of $$ I lost because they rent out equipment that is not changed. It's disrespectful to small business owners and their target market when they do nonsense like this. Next week, I will pay 3 times the amount that I would have paid home depot for the equipment I need, I know the new equipment company will at least charge their equipment and not insult me with 15$ after they cost you several thousand. read more

Multiple items I price compared are 2x - 3x more expensive than I can find at all the smaller supply stores The smaller stores have more sales people to help you and they are more knowledgable and more friendly You can tell the Homedepot employees are NOT happy And anything that can be gotten online is cheaper too I WILL NEVER buy an appliance from Homedepot Always had better prices and selection at Best Buy and Lowes Homedepot is also dirtier than all the other places read more

He asked me a few questions & then came up with a much better solution. He went out of his way to help me (beyond his dept.) & even offered to help me again if I needed anything additional with my job at hand. 4 stars for this location in general. This is a decent Home Depot. I usually don't have any problems finding home, plumbing and garden supplies here. The one area I wish they'd beef up is light bulbs. I've seen several types of CFLs, particularly brands which dim, at larger Home Depots in larger metropolitan areas and thought, "Okay, I'll buy it at home" only to be surprised. Watch out navigating through the parking lot. the main access road has a lot of speed bumps and stop signs, so some people drive through the Home Depot parking lot over to the Staples parking lot - often at higher speeds - to avoid them. read more

Having worked at a Lowe's in the NYC area, Home Depot has always been the competition but I say Lowe's always had the upper-hand when it came to cleanliness and customer service. Honestly, I ended up at this HD only because I had to use the bathroom, I'm not from the area so this was the first place I saw. Upon entering I was greeted, asked if I needed help. I declined. I noticed immediately how clean it was. And organized. I was walking around for a bit looking for the bathroom and again was asked if I needed help. I asked for a random item which I probably knew where it was and the associate gave me detailed directions on how to find it in that department. I found the bathroom and it was super clean. After using it, I walked around some more and had a brief conversation with another associate and asked him how long this store had been opened and I told him I was surprised at how much nicer it is than depots in the city. i bought my refrigetator and paid and scheduled delivery first i was given a window 10-2p by costomer service prsonell when rescheduled my initial delivery the necy deliver was scheduled for 2-6pm no one showed up with my refrigerator the delivery crew reported they could not find the house they said they sdk neighbors .i live on a popuplar street with visible home number. i called resulution she offered a mini frige Its now 90d degree day lost all my food theni was told i cant get i priority delivery even though i have a baby 4 dasys old ruined frzen brest milk insulin must be kep refrigerated out in the heat they lied about calling nothing in my call log Then their solution was to accept the same refridgerrator dented from the store or take a 5ft loner the following monday wich ca barey hold a gallon of milk regular sized products. I am really disappointed becausei have spent so much money over the years buy appliances etc. I still have no window for saturday so i guess i will wait all day to see if they find the hose. read more

In March we purchased an LG cabinet depth refrigerator from Home Depot (Poughkeepsie) for $2,524. We paid $15 extra to have the old refrigerator moved (to our garage). The day before delivery we were supposed to get a call regarding the four-hour delivery window the following day. We never got a call. Home Depot delivery day came. The deliverymen smelled like a cigarette smoke house. They were not Home Depot employees but a delivery vendor. When they were told we needed the doors taken off the old refrigerator before it could be taken out, they said they didn't do that. They also said they didn't move items downstairs. (We have 5 stairs.) They did volunteer to move the refrigerator to our living room or dinning room. We said that's not an option and were then asked if we had "friends" who could move it for us. We asked if they would move it if we had the doors removed. They said no. They had us speak to their supervisor (using their smoke smelling phone) who explained that due to "liability", they could not perform those tasks. We refused the Home Depot delivery of the new refrigerator. The next day we spoke in person to (Mary Ellen) who was a manager at Home Depot. She said this is how Home Depot delivery works. There is too much "liability" involved when the refrigerator doors are taken off. The vendor is not supposed to move old refrigerators down or up stairs. She suggested we pay a $15 fee for haul away. That didn't work for us since our old refrigerator still worked well and it has potential resale value and/or payment from Central Hudson. Frustrated, we said we would then go and talk to Lowe's. We were told to go ahead, Lowe's policies are the same. Well - Lowe's is a whole different world. Later that day we went to Lowe's (store 541). I was still shaking my head regarding our Home Depot experience. We were concerned we would find the same at Lowe's. We spoke to a delightful sale specialist named Michael. We knew what we wanted to purchase but delivery was our big issue. Our first questions to Michael involved Lowe's delivery policy. He was surprised at our story but immediately assured us Lowe's delivery staff would remove the doors and move the refrigerator down the needed steps to the garage. He typed those instructions into our order form. Our entire shopping experience was enhanced when the following things happened: The same refrigerator cost less at Lowe's (using the Lowe's card). There was no $15 haul away/moving fee for the old refrigerator. Lowe's 3 year extended warranty was $89 versus $150 for Home Depot. We purchased this additional coverage at Lowe's but did not at Home Depot. Our delivery day came. Two employees, Andy and Tom, arrived. They were professional and accommodating. The new refrigerator was set up in place. The old, doors removed, was moved to the garage. I wrote to Home Depot and Lowe's store managers and corporate offices about this. Home Deport Corporate Offices sent an overnight express letter saying they were looking in the matter and would be getting back to me. That was 3 months ago and I've heard nothing from them since. Just be sure you know this is you want to purchase a major appliance. read more

And after walking around the friggin store twice I finally found them! And to the cashier who sent me all the way to the garden area! You were way off! They were in the aisle by your dam register Aisle 15!!!! Please brush up on your store and where to send customers! I would like to share my bad experience (To post would not allow me to select 0 stars, but I would have if I could have.) and ongoing experience with Home Depot in regards to a window installation that was done badly. (The install was included with the purchase of the windows.) The damage done to my home as a result of a Home Depot independent contractor. I have made every effort to try to work with Home Depot. I have been trying to work with Home Depot to resolve my problems for a little less than a year with no success. SO we went to The Home Depot today to buy a $2000,00 riding lawn mower.We asked the girl to send someone to talk to us about the mower,Guy comes over and says" I know nothing about lawn mowers so I'll try to help you but I probally can't" I walked back to the girl and said ok I need someone to help who knows about lawn mowers she said "no one from that department is here ..I asked when will someone who knows the product be here? she said I don't know. I asked about white glove delivery she said oh thats something you need to do on line we charge 79 dollars to deliver we can have it sometime next week not sure when because we have to have a guy from John Deere come in to assemble it they are in crates in the back.I said I see 2 it says you have 2 in stock on the website what are you going to assemble?? she tried to talk aroud that. It is a shame that we are being forced to do busniess at other stores or on line ..We left... I went there to buy molding today, which I found very easily, but when I asked an associate to cut it, he just told me to go to the hand saw and do it myself (which was being used by someone at the time). The worst part was this associate was there with another worker not doing a thing. There was no reason they couldn't help me, we were in the aisle that the saw was in. My review is of one person by the name of Clyde. The day before thanksgiving I went in there looking for a plug inverter for my car so my boyfriend could warm up our infant's milk while I'm in the hospital saying my goodbyes to my grandmother. When I approached Clyde I was polite and had a picture ready to show him because A. My boyfriend went in 20 minutes before I did and no one knew what the hell it was or where it would be. B. I personally didn't know the proper name. I said would you know where this item would be. And with a disgusting attitude out of no where, he repeatedly said "what's the name." And I repeatedly said I don't know but I have a picture. It's an adapter of some kind. He wouldn't stop asking the same question and he continued to be the nastiest person ever. I just walked away because at that point I just was in awe and all I wanted was to get to the hospital. As I walked away he just kept saying something rude and running his mouth. Shame on him for being like that right off the bat and for no reason! Happy thanksgiving schmuck. Word of advice, if you don't like helping people don't work in customer service. We all have bad days, maybe Clyde was having one. Hell I was having one, a hospital made so many mistakes and killed my grandmother, my infant had to stay in a car while I went into the hospital, I had to deal with this Clyde guy, and I bought an inverter that did not work at all. I mean, at some point when conversing with strangers you need to bury your problems and show respect. You never know who you're dealing with or what they are dealing with.
