    Heaven stew

We came here last week for my husband and brother birthday. Our coworker recommended this restaurant to my brother. It's a cozy restaurant family owned and very friendly. We ordered: Mediterranean fries- very good, crispy fries with cheese, garlic sauce and pickled onions. Al Nazik- this dish is new to us and we love it! It comes out on a sizzling hot plate. It has egg plant sauce topped with chunks of beef koobideh, and veggies. This pairs well with the complementary flat bread. Definitely getting this every time we go. Combo koobideh- I love the chicken the most tbh. It's juicy and flavorful. Not dry like most places we've had. Chicken kebab- was good but we prefer the koobideh. Lamb stew- this comes out hot sizzling pot covered with the flat bread dough. This dish is very good and we loved it. We've tried many Mediterranean places and Heaven on a Fork hits the spot I would highly recommend this spot.

They've really nailed Persian cuisine, transforming their old spot into something amazing and so welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Thumbs up

I had the pleasure of visiting Heaven On A Fork yesterday with my cousin, and it truly lives up to its name. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was something special--the ambiance was inviting, vibrant, and completely full, which is always a great sign. The food? Absolutely incredible. Without hesitation, this is the best Mediterranean cuisine I've ever had. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully elevated--honestly, Michelin-level quality. You can tell there's real intention behind the flavors and presentation. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were not only kind and welcoming, but also incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to walk us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel completely taken care of. It's no surprise they're already expanding into a new space just a few doors down--it looks like it will be even more spacious and high-end, which is well deserved. I remember saying before we went in, "With a name like Heaven on a Fork, it has to be good"--and they absolutely delivered. I'll definitely be back!

So so good, the food, the service, and how quickly they worked. Amazing food, I got the Koobideh combo and it was so so good and so flavorful, I came with my family and we all absolutely enjoyed everything. I definitely recommend if you want to try delightful Persian cuisine.

What an amazing restaurant! The food is insanely delicious. Every dish we've ordered is flavorful and rich, and the plating is elevated and beautiful. Our favorites are the Tahchin, which has crunchy and tender rice, juicy chicken, and pops of flavor with the barberries; and the Heaven Stew, which is a show-stopping presentation, and has lamb neck that melts in your mouth. The service is also always great and all the employees are very friendly and helpful. We have had Sorena the last few times we have come, and he is a great server.

One of the best things about sharing a variety of food is how the food becomes so appealing and delicious. Heaven On A Fork is one of the places where sharing food should be and enjoyed. Even my three-month-old granddaughter seems to be happy looking at the appetizing food served to us! The Fesenjon, slow cooked chicken topped with ground walnut pomegranate molasses was so good it was hard to stop. The chicken was tender and mixed well with the sauce. It came with rice biryani. We decided on two appetizers the Muhammara made with bell peppers, walnuts, tahini, and pomegranate paste was incredibly flavorful and healthy. The other appetizer was Labneh Za'Atar, yogurt with fresh mint, basil, olives , extra virgin olive and za'atare. Fresh and just wonderful! Service was excellent and staff was happy to serve the customers. Didn't expect the restaurant to be a buzzy Monday past 2 pm. We'll definitely come back for more!

Hands down the best beef koobideh I've ever had -- super tender, juicy and flavorful ! I really enjoyed the bread with butter and Ali Nazik as well. The establishment is on the small side. As a result, it can get pretty loud when it's a full house. Friendly service but aforementioned noise makes it hard to hear them repeat your order back.

Tahchin 6.18/10- layered saffron rice seasoned with yogurt and egg yolk oven baked with soft boiled chicken. This was my first time trying this dish but I wasn't really a fan. It had a very strong flavor of mostly egg and chicken even though it's supposed to be saffron rice. The rice on top was a bit too eggy for my taste. The chicken was incredibly tender but there wasn't much flavor to it. If anything, the sauce that came with it added lots of flavor and made it more enjoyable. Beef Soltani 8.31/10- the beef barg and koobideh were alright but not amazing. It was not as tender or juicy as my normal spot for Persian food, which was disappointing. I loved how they gave onions and cilantro with the dish though as it added a lot of fresh flavor and helped brighten everything up. The meat was a little dry overall. Heaven Stew 12/10- this was absolutely incredible! Made with slow cooked seasoned lamb neck and vegetables, and served with flatbread. I absolutely loved the flavors of this stew - it was rich, complex, and so satisfying. I kept putting it on my rice because it added so much amazing flavor to everything. The lamb itself was so tender and fell perfectly off the bone. The flatbread was also the perfect consistency and delicious for soaking up all that sauce and lamb. I would honestly come back just for this dish - it was that good! Baghali Polo 8.56/10- I loved the lima beans in this rice dish, but I felt that their dill wasn't that fresh and the rice could definitely use more butter. It was very good though, especially when I put the heaven stew on top of it. The lima beans added great texture and flavor. Adas Polo 8.32/10- made with lentils, dates, and raisins. I liked how sweet this rice was from the dates and raisins, but I think it was a bit dry on its own. It was really good with the heaven stew on top though - the stew's sauce really helped bring it all together. Dogh 9.23/10- this yogurt drink was so good! I loved how they put a lot of fresh mint in it. It was refreshing and tangy, and the perfect drink to have with all the rich Persian flavors. The mint made it so cooling and it paired beautifully with everything we ordered. This Persian restaurant had some really standout dishes like that incredible heaven stew, but overall it was hit or miss compared to my usual Persian spot. The stew alone made it worth the visit though! Instagram: @hungrytamale

One of the tastiest Persian meals I've had anywhere in California. Every dish came out beautifully presented and full of flavor -- perfectly grilled meats, fragrant saffron rice, and fresh, vibrant sides that made the whole experience feel authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The quality of the food was excellent, the selection was impressive, and the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and craftsmanship. I live in Los Angeles and would absolutely drive all the way back to Laguna just to eat here again. Even my Persian mom who is definitely a tough critic and hard to please loved the food, which says everything.

Jack o lantern fair was just a few blocks away but we were craving seafood and we decided on Seafood 1555. Oh my gosh. I mean I need to come back and order again because it's worth it all! Just walk behind the parking lot when you enter the church, it's behind the car repairs. And they make it looks like a farmers market with about 3-4 businesses serving food and desserts :) Service was amazing they asked if we needed any thing and we were the only customers remaining so they were patient and didn't rush us at all. So many places treat it as an afterthought, but here it was very, very good--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. Great food, generous portions, and standout service. Seafood 1555 is a must-visit and an easy recommendation. We'll absolutely be back.

The mussels were on the smaller side, which I actually prefer. My daughter ordered the prime rib dip, which was huge and very good. BF had the Cacio e Pepe with shrimp and enjoyed it. Though he felt it could use more pepper, which was promptly provided. Since mom has difficulty chewing, we ordered the Maui onion soup for her. She wasn't overly impressed with it, but then again, that's how she is. :) She also had a poached egg that was presented, adorably and perfect for her. Hunter accidentaly forgot the egg order, but immediately removed it from the bill. When he learned it was mom's birthday, he brought us a creme brulee and small vanilla bean ice cream sundae, both complimentary and both delicious. Hunter really made the experience special. He kept complimenting mom, was incredibly kind, and even suggested an alternative espresso martini with tequila. He assured me, if I didn't like it, he'd happily replace it. It wasn't my favorite cocktail, but I appreciated the recommendation and his willingness to make it right. Truffle fries were fantastic and a big hit with my daughter. What was the first real problem was the fish in my wife's Cajun fish taco was completely burned. She didn't want to complain so she kept eating, but I tried it and the bitter burnt taste overpowered the whole taco. My wife didn't want to complain so we kept eating. Now, the second big problem is what got us upset. When we were already half way done, our 8 year old started complaining about their Cajun shrimp taco. We ignored him and told him to eat. He gradually got more upset so my wife and I tried a bite. The shrimp was completely raw! He also complained about the fries and we tried that too. It seemed undercooked too. The place wasn't even busy, maybe like 3 tables were occupied and 1 other person was waiting for takeout. How do you burned the fish but get all the shrimp undercooked, fries undercooked, and get the sides wrong when you're not even busy? We're never coming here again.

4th time here with a large group. Today was a disaster…read more Reservation was made for 10 guests at 12pm. Appetizers took 45 mins to come out. Our main courses came out at 1:15pm. Asked the front desk girl to speak to a manager and she literally said to me- she's too busy to come talk to you. Yikes. She then goes- anyway I see your food is coming out soon. I said ok well I'd still like to talk to her please let her know. 40 mins later we had to flag down our sever to ask for the check and for refills. Manager never came....no one cared. The only thing that saved the day was the food. But due to the horrible service- this place is off the list. Our server was a younger guy and he could care less for how long everything was taking or that we asked for calamari- waited forever and then were told- sorry we ran out. One of the guests in our party said that he was so bummed about that, and he literally replied sorry it's not coming we ran out. Busy day. Double yikes! Won't be back. Our check was hundreds of dollars and we can gladly take our business elsewhere. No idea why such a difference in our dining experience here.
