    Soltani Boneless Chicken Combo Kabob

It is a little out of the way for me but I cannot find another solid traditional Persian food like this one where it's got all your staples! The coolest part is that it sits on top of a Persian grocery store so it's a one stop shop! Get your Persian food fix and then go down to get some Persian grocery staples like lavashak, the good feta cheese, some sangak. Other Persian places can be hit or miss when you go not knowing if the stews for your tadig will be watery this time but Bahar never disappoints. I always know it's going to be good. I've been other places too where the the tadig is that chewy kind where it gets really stuck in your teeth - not here. Usually when I come it's never too busy and I love sitting at the booths overlooking the small hills. It's really cute. The service is always impeccable and the servers have smiles on their faces. Miriam is such a great server and always exudes warmth. She makes sure you always have everything you need. If you're new to Persian food then this is the best order to have: tadig with all 3 stews, maast moosir, chicken soltani but sub the chicken koobideh for beef & get half rice half garden salad. Their chicken is juicy & flavorful. The rice is buttery and soft. The maast moosir is creamy and tangy with that strong taste of shallot in just the right way. I like to call it the OG sour cream and onion.

I finally remembered to come here for a meal. So glad. Been shopping in the market below for years. The food was reasonably priced, excellent selections, and best is they have a full vegetarian menu. Th vegetarian kabob and adas polo-rice mixed with dates, walnuts, lentils was great! Yessinia, our waitress, was super helpful and kind. The table setting of plates and glasses were a beautiful design and style. It felt "fancy" though it's a casual dining experience. Plenty of seating.

Persian Food is my expertise! Sometimes, I order "to go " when cravings hit and i dont feel like cooking. The Fact that Bahar has "lunch specials" makes it my go to place to put in an order for pick up. Their solanti is top notch alongside their salad, mausto-mousir ( shallot-yogurt) mix. 10/10 Whats great about Bahar: they have inside seating with tables and booths. If you want to have lunch with your family or friends or just want to dine solo, the vibe is inviting and the smells of kabab coming from the kitchen- magic. 10/10

This review is for Bahar Catering: We had Bahar catering for a 51st birthday at an event venue. I highly recommend Bahar catering. From the planning to the actual event, they handled everything professionally and stayed in constant contact with me prior to the event. The food quality was exceptional. They provided a beautiful set up with the coffee, tea and cookies. The food was set up beautifully and the food temperature was perfect. The server adapted and problem-solved. I really couldn't have asked for a better caterer. I was able to enjoy the party because there was nothing that was missing--everything was provided exactly as was agreed and they went above and beyond. Thank you for making our event memorable.

Friendly customer service, Chill ambiance, a glowing Samavar was shinig in the background and gorgeous plates with intricate Persian-style patterns. For start we got The Bahar Platter(mast-o-musir, mast-o-khiar, Salad Shirazi, feta cheese, and fresh herbs (sabzi)) $16. This was the best part even though the bread we got wasnt fresh one. It was cold and dry. We were accepting to get persian bread (sangak, barbari, taftun or lavash) so we were lil bit surprised for persian restaurant. In Yelp, this restaurant description says Mediterranean but the menu is 100% persian food. In plaza entrance it says Bahar persian cuisine but not in description in Yelp. We ordered Dinner beef soltani $34 and Dinner beef barg kabab for $30. The meat was good but it didnt taste like persian food...Aroma was missing but quality of meat was there. About rice: when you eat persian food, you breath in! So by saying this, Persian food is just not tested, it's smelled first...The aroma of saffron rice is smth that it should be bold when you get it in your table. This is what it was missing in our plate. We enjoyed our food and the athmosphere. The next door was event and the song that were playing was too loud and restaurant were playing non Persian song so it was lil bit messy mixed songs... I wished they had entrance inside of Crown Valley market to the restaurant but the door was locked...The parking lot was easy to park!

Bahar is our go-to place for Persian food. My family and I have ordered many meals from here over the past 15 years, and everything has been delicious. Our favorite is Loobia Polo + Beef Koobideh. The prices are fair and the quality of food is great. We primarily order for takeout, but I dined in for lunch today. The inside looks formal and beverages/food were served on colorful ornate plates and glassware. However, the atmosphere felt relaxed and the diners were dressed casually. You should definitely try Bahar if you're looking for great Persian food!

I will start by saying we are Persian Food snobs as we previously owned a very popular restaurant in Philadelphia that was reviewed by many food critics. When it came to catering my dad's celebration of life we had many options. My mom had had Bahar's food at another event and was very impressed. Did I mention it is impossible to impress my mom who is one of the world's best cooks? The owner is very responsive and patient. Coming up with the menu with him was easy and he had great suggestions. The food, the service and the presentation were all amazing. Bahar did not disappoint with the flavors of authentic Persian food. The tea service and desert tables were beautifully presented as was the dinner. I highly recommend Bahar Restaurant for catering.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for years as one of the best Persian restaurants in OC. The ambiance is nice and service is excellent. It is located in the second floor next to a middle eastern grocery store so you can do shopping or walk around after the meal. We ordered two eggplant dips to begin with. One with more yogurt and the other with more chill and a bit smoky. Both are excellent choices for the naans (two plates of hot naans were served per table). Each of us ordered different kabobs. I previously tried their lamb shank (excellent BTW), so I went for Chicken Soltani. There are two skewers of kabab, one with ground marinated chicken that is packed with herb flavors and melts in your mouth (like beef koobideh). The other kabab is chicken chunks which has more texture but still very trendy and juicy. We substitute rice with salad and grilled tomatoes, which is a much healthy choice and will not put you to sleep after me, as the portion is HUGE. We followed the entree with Persian saffron ice cream with a bit pistachio and sugary faloodeh noodle. Overall excellent dining experience and we will for sure tk come back many more times.

The service could've been a little more friendly. The young guy working at the register didn't say much and didn't seem to really promote the menu, even after I told him it was my first time there. I was really excited to try the food here with my friend. I was in the mood for whole pieces of chicken and I'm so glad I chose the half chicken plate. The plate comes with two sides and there were a few options to choose from. I selected a side salad and roasted lemon garlic potatoes. I was trying to be a little more healthy. Otherwise, I probably would've chosen the french fries. The dressing on the salad was really good and all of the ingredients were fresh. I really liked the pickled red onions that came with the salad. The potatoes were alright. The plate also comes with a large soft pita. And the garlic sauce was just right with everything . I'd driven past it plenty of times on the way to the dog groomer and never once felt compelled to stop. Friday night changed that. We were hungry, but not sit-down-for-two-hours hungry. We wanted something better than fast food, but not some overproduced evening of cocktails and self-importance. We wanted food worth getting out of the car for. Rangeen hit that mark beautifully. Getting my wife on board took some work. She's not a curry person. But a few online photos of fresh, vibrant salads were enough to win her over. Inside, the place still showed traces of whatever came before it, a blank quick-serve menu screen hanging awkwardly over the counter, like a relic from another life. But this was table service, and a perfectly comfortable one at that. There were maybe eight or nine tables, and one lone server holding down the front of house. Casual, older, thin, moving with purpose. She greeted us warmly, dropped menus, answered the phone, checked back often, kept the table tidy, and somehow managed to make the whole room feel cared for without a hint of drama. I went for the spicy mango chicken. My wife chose a healthy-looking salad with grilled sweet potatoes, nuts, and all the things I generally avoid unless someone smarter than me orders them first. We added naan, because not ordering naan would have been foolish. The food took a few minutes longer than the impatient part of your brain might expect. But then it arrived, and suddenly none of that mattered. My dish was excellent: nicely seasoned bite-sized pieces of chicken, rice, a fresh side salad, and a spicy sauce that pulled the whole thing together with real intention. And the plating, that was the surprise. This wasn't tossed on a plate like an afterthought from the spot next to the grocery store. It looked like someone actually gave a damn. And that, really, is what stays with you. Not just that the food was good, but that care had gone into it. The ingredients may not have been expensive, I say that as someone who owns restaurants and knows roughly what things cost, but value isn't about raw food cost. It's about what arrives at the table, how it's presented, and whether anybody in the building seems to care if you enjoy it. At $19, this was a steal. For about the price of a drive-thru burger meal, I got something thoughtful, well executed, and satisfying enough to remind me why local places like this matter. And to the party of four next to us who only left a five-dollar tip: do better.

And it starts at ten bucks. That's a ridiculous bargain. In a white tablecloth Italian restaurant, the same cheese wheel theater could easily run north of thirty dollars, probably delivered by someone wearing an apron cleaner than your kitchen towels. You can add chicken and other toppings, but I went with the three flavor pasta trio, served on a wooden plank. It's visually impressive, filling, and compared with most quick-service food these days, a genuinely respectable value. There is, however, one important thing to understand before walking through the door, everything begins with Alfredo. Pesto, tomato, and the other flavors are added afterward, but the creamy cheese sauce is the foundation. If Alfredo isn't your thing, this probably isn't your place. My wife is firmly in that camp, so she ordered a salad. That's where the operation started to wobble. The lettuce was wilted, and the green goddess dressing had an odd, unpleasant flavor. We also ordered pita bread, which appeared to have been removed from a plastic bag, cut into pieces, and dropped onto a plate without heat, seasoning, or much thought. It was cold, slightly stale, and depressing. The frustrating part is that both problems are easy to fix. Toast the pita. Brush it with olive oil. Add a little salt and herbs. Treat the salad like someone might actually be excited to eat it. The pasta trio, though? Solid. Rich, satisfying, and an excellent deal. Judging by the packed dining room on a Friday night, plenty of other people have reached the same conclusion. Zesty Olive has the Alfredo pasta experience down. Add one genuinely good olive oil based pasta for people who don't want the cream and cheese, and bring the salads and sides up to the same standard as the main attraction. Do that, and they may have a real winner.
