So I love that they have that on here I don't remember it being here about 10 years ago. I also got the stew with celery artichoke and beef. It was really nice! I love that it's lightweight. I'll probably get a fuss in June to go just because it's my favorite. I absolutely love the Persian tea! It is a little out of the way for me but I cannot find another solid traditional Persian food like this one where it's got all your staples! The coolest part is that it sits on top of a Persian grocery store so it's a one stop shop! Get your Persian food fix and then go down to get some Persian grocery staples like lavashak, the good feta cheese, some sangak. Other Persian places can be hit or miss when you go not knowing if the stews for your tadig will be watery this time but Bahar never disappoints. I always know it's going to be good. I've been other places too where the the tadig is that chewy kind where it gets really stuck in your teeth - not here. Usually when I come it's never too busy and I love sitting at the booths overlooking the small hills. It's really cute. The service is always impeccable and the servers have smiles on their faces. Miriam is such a great server and always exudes warmth. She makes sure you always have everything you need. If you're new to Persian food then this is the best order to have: tadig with all 3 stews, maast moosir, chicken soltani but sub the chicken koobideh for beef & get half rice half garden salad. Their chicken is juicy & flavorful. The rice is buttery and soft. The maast moosir is creamy and tangy with that strong taste of shallot in just the right way. Bahar is generally a good restaurant for Persian food. However, more recently the music during lunch is inappropriate, way too loud, and downright annoying. Whether it is trying to cover up kitchen sounds, push turnover, or whatever, this is a turn off for many. At least play gentle Persian music. For start we got The Bahar Platter(mast-o-musir, mast-o-khiar, Salad Shirazi, feta cheese, and fresh herbs (sabzi)) $16. This was the best part even though the bread we got wasnt fresh one. It was cold and dry. We were accepting to get persian bread (sangak, barbari, taftun or lavash) so we were lil bit surprised for persian restaurant. In Yelp, this restaurant description says Mediterranean but the menu is 100% persian food. In plaza entrance it says Bahar persian cuisine but not in description in Yelp. We ordered Dinner beef soltani $34 and Dinner beef barg kabab for $30. The meat was good but it didnt taste like persian food...Aroma was missing but quality of meat was there. About rice: when you eat persian food, you breath in! So by saying this, Persian food is just not tested, it's smelled first...The aroma of saffron rice is smth that it should be bold when you get it in your table. This is what it was missing in our plate. We enjoyed our food and the athmosphere. The next door was event and the song that were playing was too loud and restaurant were playing non Persian song so it was lil bit messy mixed songs... The prices are fair and the quality of food is great. We primarily order for takeout, but I dined in for lunch today. We have been frequenting this restaurant for years as one of the best Persian restaurants in OC. The ambiance is nice and service is excellent. It is located in the second floor next to a middle eastern grocery store so you can do shopping or walk around after the meal. We ordered two eggplant dips to begin with. One with more yogurt and the other with more chill and a bit smoky. Both are excellent choices for the naans (two plates of hot naans were served per table). Each of us ordered different kabobs. I previously tried their lamb shank (excellent BTW), so I went for Chicken Soltani. There are two skewers of kabab, one with ground marinated chicken that is packed with herb flavors and melts in your mouth (like beef koobideh). The other kabab is chicken chunks which has more texture but still very trendy and juicy. We substitute rice with salad and grilled tomatoes, which is a much healthy choice and will not put you to sleep after me, as the portion is HUGE. We followed the entree with Persian saffron ice cream with a bit pistachio and sugary faloodeh noodle. We ordered from the restaurant. Upon delivering 2 skewers of Kebab were missing. When we called them they agreed we were telling the truth, i had photos, video and offered to FaceTime. We were even willing to go pick up the missing order, they told us to come. They called a few minutes later and said the Uber driver must have taken it. But as far as the food goes wow nothing was good I got the Soltani plate with albalu poolo and the flat meat was dry and koobideh was undercooked and had. Small and the price was extremely, extremely sweet like it was artificially sweetened nothing like real albalu poolo I was very disappointed. Didn't mention anything due to the face that I just felt bad and the employees were extremely nice I just left bad. The fesenjan (pomegranate walnut chicken and basmati rice) is a family favorite along with the baghali polo mahiche (lamb shank and fava bean basmati rice). I was a little hesitant to order a Thanksgiving turkey from a Persian restaurant, but I was delighted with tender juicy turkey served on a bed of zereshk polo (barberry basmati rice). I really like the food here. In my opinion, it's the best Persian food in south OC. It's nice inside , but the parking lot is shared with the market and traffic can get fairly busy. You can access the restaurant by entering the doors on the right side of the building and going directly up the stairs. And to the right . Another added plus is the complimentary bread with the meal. It comes with two different types, is warm, and goes wonderfully with the food. Would strongly recommend any of the dips on their appetizer menu as well as the Paniro Sabzi (if you are someone that loves some herbs). The rice medleys are great options and easily shareable. The crispy rice is also really delicious and goes well with any dips and the bread. I would absolutely recommend and cannot wait to go back to try more. First time eating here and I thought the food was pretty good. The restaurant is above the market/grocery and entrance on the outside right. They bring two types of warm pita to start. My dish was the Adas Polo with chicken kabob. The rice was flavorful and chicken was moist. The only thing it was not hot it came out somewhat warm. But overall the taste was good. Husband got the Gheymeh Bademjan, this was flavorful and came with tons of rice. The meat was soft and moist but there could have been more. But overall good and tasty. Also not hot and came out just warm. The service was great and the servers very nice and accommodating. Water was filled constantly which was nice. And refills on pita were filled quickly.
