    Koobideh Kabob

So I went here yesterday after not having been for a couple years and my God this place is incredibly better. Asked my server and she told me it's under new management, before the koobideh was dry and now it's so good I'm still thinking about it a day later. Complimentary taftoon bread and persian tea is a huge plus. This place gives heaven on a fork serious competition and doesn't have a wait, definitely check it out if you haven't.

Hafez Restaurant One of the best Persian food experiences in Orange County! The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they even serve complimentary chai which adds a lovely touch. We had the ash reshteh, ash jo, and koobideh kebab, everything was delicious. The freshly baked bread they make in-house is amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere and beautiful design too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

Great authentic Persian food that reminds you of home cooked meals. Specialties include Dizi, ash Reshteh, fresh Taftoon bread among all kinds of kabobs.

We went to Hafez for dine in and the restaurant was packed. With that came slow service and a substantial wait time to get our food. We were with a group and ordered a variety of breakfast and lunch plates. Everyone was very happy with their dishes. We had Halim, eggs/cream/honey, koobideh kabob, Cornish hen, kaleh pacheh, and adasi. I had the Halim (which is my fave) and my husband had the Cornish hen that I tried as well. The hen was fantastic and one of the best I've had in a long time. The fresh baked bread is definitely the star of the show and the black tea served with the meal is a very nice touch. The negative: I don't love the atmosphere and wish all the food were served in ceramic dish-ware. The kabobs are still served in melamine/plastic plates, which is highly toxic when exposed to heat and leach into the food. I'm taking a star out for this.

This is how the koofteh was packed!,

I am giving 2 stars for the previous time when 2 dishes were good and one was bad. For today, I give it less than one star. Called in for an order. It was accepted. When we got there, they said sorry, out if the rice (baghali polo). The lamb was terrible. They touted their special - koofte tabrizi. I ordered some. When it arrived, the koofteh had been pressed flat. I was as pissed as the koofteh had been flattened down! And so, so salty. Thus is not a cheap place, but it certainly will be tbe last place we'd revisit.

Amazing authentic Persian food with excellent quality and flavor. Their breakfast is also delicious and fresh, and you can really feel the care they put into every dish. The service is warm, friendly, and very welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great hospitality and a comfortable atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely come back again. Highly recommend trying this place!

This is the best Kaleh pache i have ever tasted in my life , i have never tasted anything like this before even in Iran. Sina was our server and he was so friendly, he made our meal more enjoyable, he is the best lemon guy

Ordered my usual.... Unfortunately the salad was missing. Meal was still delicious.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I ordered my usual tonight. 1/2 Salad, 1/2 rice, extra salad dressing. The delivery service did a fantastic job delivering - the food was fresh and hot as usual. Unfortunately, the Salad and salad dressing were missing. I am so bummed. The salad is just so good. I hope next time- My order will be delivered as I ordered it.

We stop by here today for lunch looking for good chicken kabobs and kobideh . I was reminded of went to many years ago, but we haven't stopped by in a while and I remember it was really good.. They did not disappoint. The family deal was the best and it could be served in House. They started out with some flatbread and butter, which was awesome. The chicken kabob and beef/chicken kobideh where are easily the best in the area. Very moist and juicy. It came with a salad and rice. Plenty for four people. Since we ate at the restaurant, they served some Persian tea, which was delicious. The service was awesome also. Highly recommend.

Today we had sina helping us out, super kind and helpful, very good service and their kale pache was delicious, definitely recommend

Food is good, service was okay, speed was disappointingly slow…read more I get that these places make their food to order so I expected a wait, but they have the word "express" in their business name so I had a false expectation. Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. A lot of people flowed in after me and they were all just waiting, it was weird since it was empty when I walked in and then seeing 6 tables of people with no food. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. They were cooked to perfections with just a little crisp on the meats. Not much else to say since I only had a basic meal....meals

We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

Persians are very picky and judgy when it comes to their cuisine. Everyone is a chef and of it doesn't bring back the nostalgia of your childhood at grandmas it doesnt pass the test. I judge a place based on their koobieh. Lets be honest, if your koobieh sucks, Houston we have a problem! Tonight, I decided to order the lamb shank with baghali polo, along with a family style appetizer consisting of mast-o-khiar, hummas, kashkeh-bademjoon, salad shirazi, and a side of mausto-mousir. My cousin ordered Tahdig for the table with different toppings. Everyone at the table ordered Soltanis, Chicken Barg and other options. Lets talk about ambiance: when you enter you are greeted by ornate art, calm atmosphere and fresh flowers. Love the lighting, its soft and inviting. Pouya our server was kind and friendly. He single handedly helped manover a "game of thrones" type style between my cousin and myself trying to sneak in our credit-cards before the meal even started so it would be taken care of ahead of time. The persian bill paying struggle is real. IYKYK. Lets just say, this girl won that one against my guy cousin with the parents watching dinner and show. Hehhee. The highlight for me was the bread ,butter, onions served first. I was hungry and the bread was made in house and fresh. It was warm, soft and paired well with the onions, and butter. I ordered more throughout the meal to eat with the mausto-mousir ( shallot and yogurt dip). Hands down out of the appetizer, the tahdigh ( crispy rice), khashk bademjoon ( eggplant dip), cucumber dip, shallot with yogurt dip were the stars of the night. The beef shank with Baghali polo was top on my list. The dill/lima beans rice paired well with the lamb shank. It was tender, tasty ( didnt have a gamey taste, or smell) and that says something for a girl born here. Kids like me born here, usually dont touch lamb because of the gamey, smell . So eating it at Hatam was a great experience for me. I would order this again. Our family had a great night out in a chill environment, devoid of any triggers for me that may have caused some health issues and it was a needed break. The ADA parking and easy access is also appreciated. Overall, I would recommend Hatam. I found out from my mom, that Hatam has also been the "go to" caterer for her parties so, that says something about quality of food and meeting expectations my mom has in place.10/10 Please note doing 1/2 salad and 1/2 rice will be $3.00 extra.

He was spinning pop hits, a little hip-hop and Middle Eastern pop, which got two table of ladies up and dancing. Despite a sign saying 'Wait to be seated,' there was no hostess present. After 5 minutes of waiting, a busboy who didn't speak English attempted to seat us without welcoming us. He barely communicated that no seats were available outside, and when I asked what the wait time was, he could not answer. I found the manager, a Persian lady in her 50s, and asked if she could tell me when an outside table would be available. In a surprisingly snarky tone, she snapped in Farsi, 'You're asking me for the impossible, how do I know how long it's going to take for them to be done? Do *you* know how long it's going to take for them to be done?' I was shocked. Obviously, the answer to a question like this is a standard 15 to 25 minutes of wait time, but unfortunately, she chose a much harder and completely unnecessary response pattern. I told her that this is no way to speak with a customer and started to walk away, choosing to take our business to Caspian Restaurant instead. Unbelievably, she then yelled after me, 'Excuse me, I asked you a question, why are you walking away?' to which, of course, I did not respond. I feel everybody should know about this because a restaurant in such an expensive location needs customer service as its foundation to get repeat clients. It's very unfortunate that this happens to restaurants where the owners are silent and hire the wrong managers--managers who can't handle stress well, or who feel their outdated customer support still holds up in 2026. Unless they change their management style and make a visible change, I would strongly discourage anyone from needing to experience the same.
