They were closed so we went back this morning. I asked for any kits appropriate for a four year old, and one of the ladies told me to give her a second. She came back with scraps and said they were free so my daughter could find out if she liked it. And then if she did, she had more for my daughter to try. You just don't find this kind of kindness at many shops anymore, and I so appreciate their willingness to pass on their craft like this. I ended up buying some items for myself, and I'm excited to get back on my cross stitch journey while my daughter starts her own.

My sister, who is an avid cross stitcher, enjoyed perusing the shelves and looking at threads and patterns. One of the things my sister was very excited to find was hand-dyed backing and a beautiful pattern for a stained glass window. When she couldn't find something she was looking for, she asked for help and received it. The ladies working there were a little quirky, but I think that's to be expected in a cross stitch shop. We also enjoyed meeting Romeo, the beagle. He was very calm and just enjoyed some sniffs and pets before letting us shop.

The associate was also very kind and let me have a dog treat for my pup. The one odd thing was that she asked me if I was a rewards member when I was ringing up, and I wasn't but said I'd like to sign up. She rung me up, then signed me up and said since she already rung me up, none of the points would count, so next time's purchase will be the first one I can get points on. I love to support local businesses as they work very hard on the items they make. I bought a cute pair of paw print earrings since I've asked hubby for a pair and he didn't deliver. So onto the earrings, everything is handmade so it's great from the necklaces to earrings, you know it's made with local pride. I also got a block with the Ohio symbol and home written inside as it's very appropriate for my household. Maybe I should have gotten the Oxford one too since my hubby went to Miami, but I'll definitely be back soon for more stuff! I love supporting local businesses and giving back to the community that works so hard!
