Reat place to grab lunch. It was busy but wait wasn't too long for a table. Service was good even with the crowd. They have many items of the day so be sure to ask...coffee flavor, soup, pie, etc. Quality food and fun to shop in the store. Not sure how anyone leaves without buying something. If I had to make any criticism it would be the onions could have been sweated longer for the soup for my taste and our table wobbled a lot even with something under the 1 leg post. I love coming to the Morgan House so much! Perfect little lunch spot with the ladies. Especially love coming during the week when it's a bit less crowded. Came on a Tuesday and there was still about a 30 min wait to be seated around lunch time (for 2 of us). It's easy to spend your time checking out the huge gift and decor shop attached to the restaurant! I'd argue it's my favorite part of visiting Morgan House, but I love their food too. Our visit was perfect, aside from the wait to sit and it took awhile for our food to come out. Absolutely lovely service was provided, I just think the kitchen is a bit slow. Had the featured flavored coffee (bananas foster - so good, didn't taste like bananas which is a plus lol). Mini muffins of the day were blueberry (I love that MH offers mini muffins as a treat to every table, every visit). My absolute favorite is the roast beef bake, so that's what I got! Next favorite thing is the poppyseed dressing on the salads. They have great ranch dressing too but that poppyseed is chef's kiss! Spent a solid 3 hours this visit, between waiting to be seated, lunching, and shopping. It's impossible for me not to buy a little something every time I come, even if it's the 3 for $1 handmade caramels at the kitchen/food section cash register (pro tip: they're amazing). It would be 5 stars if not for the wait times in the dining room and for being sat, but I will still highly recommend it and hope your server is awesome as ours was during our visit! My only feeling here was I wish the bread and cheese on the French onion soup had been toastier. Came across this gem while out for an afternoon drive, and decided to stop in for an early lunch. The interior is huge! Room after room after room of holiday themed merchandise. From kitchen supplies to bath and body products to clothes and household knick knacks, I can't believe how much they fit in this space. The wait for lunch was 45 minutes, which is ok, we shopped. Then we had an amazing lunch (pictured is the turkey cranberry sandwich with spinach salad and yes - warm bacon vinaigrette) , and then we shopped some more. What was supposed to be a quick lunch stop turned into a 3 hour afternoon of shopping with friends and family. I can't wait to see what they do outside of the holiday season. We have driven by Morgan House many times when visiting family in the area. Today was the first visit with intent to see the shop then decided to eat lunch. Seated by Marie, and expertly served by Mel, our meals included the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with chips and the roast beef bake croissant with a side salad. Both meals were generous portions, perfectly prepared and served in a quick manner. The grilled cheese sourdough bread was toasted just right as well as the Parmesan crusted croissant. We left completely satisfied and full. Only downside was no room for dessert. Although the shop and food caters to a large clientele of women this male diner was not disappointed. Went to celebrate my birthday with a friend who was visiting from out of town. We were seated immediately and the server came over right away. We each started with a cup of the cream chicken and barely soup. The temperature was perfect and the taste outstanding! Pauline and I shared the roast beef sandwich and fruit cup. The sandwich was delicious. It had horseradish sauce and the cheese was melted on top of the croissant ! Definitely enough to share. First time at The Morgan House. First things first, this place has a restaurant with a decent menu. I didn't ask if I could substitute gluten free bread in other sandwiches, just ordered the basket lunch since gluten free bread was listed as an option. Food was good, salad fresh, and I really liked the 1000 island dressing they serve. It was a light lunch, if you will. Now the second thing about The Morgan House, it's a store offering decorations, Christmas stuff (right now), furniture, some food products, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and much more. The store part is on three levels that seemed to flow together in a strange way I couldn't figure out. There is a lot of history in the buildings. This is definitely a place to visit for a light lunch. But, if you're into finding things you don't see everywhere else, definitely worth a visit. read more

I've never been here before and a friend wanted to take me to a nice lunch for my birthday. And I had heard great things about the place. Well neither one of were impressed. We went last Thursday around 12:00 ish or after. The entire place had 4 tables with people seated. Tons of empty tables. Hostess took our name and said we would hear our name over the speaker. Oh ok. Btw other people were waiting just like us. The gift shoppe goes on forever tons of levels and different rooms. Cute stuff. Well it was a very long wait. And took forever for food. Im curious to know whether or not they were short of help in the kitchen and in the dining room or what exactly was going on because there was seriously was only four tables being used. We Don't plan on ever going back. What I really wonder is it a gimmick to make everyone wait so they spend money in the shoppe. We were just there for lunch. Completely disappointed! A great local giftshop. Needing something for my mom (the flamingo t-shirt from the zoo will be a gift from Baby K) I turned to our illustrious CM Jayme's list of local favorites. This is a cool old house on the corner not far from the zoo. I've seen it often, but never had a chance to stop in. It's chock-full of nice gifts, for yourself or others. Lots of Christmas stuff right now, of course. Specialty foods, jewelry, kitchen items, decor, etc. Need a swanky mask? They have 'em. There's a cafe in back, but since it sounded like it was bustling I passed. Plenty of parking, including a few cool spots slotted between trees up front. Great service. A bit pricy, but worth the splurge. More my mom's kind of stuff than mine, but I could spend a ton in the food area, and Sweetie would love the holiday decorations. Not a lot for Baby K here, and lots of fragile stuff to bump into, so not so great for kids. read more

This was my first time here. This was my birthday surprise! This is a historic place that has been added on to and turned into a business. They have a multilevel store and restaurant. There 3 levels and with no actual definition on how they connect but that's part of it's charm. The food is more for breakfast or brunch. But still very good. Executive chef sexually harassed me while working there. Kitchen not clean as I saw first hand working there. Some older waitresses "established ones" would touch costumers food without gloves on. Etc..... The owners and their family are amazing but need to replace chef & some wait staff who are inept, negligent and bully much older restaurant staff or very young "unique" staff. We enjoyed one of the best lunches ever today and we're "die hard foodies" :-) ! I had the roast beef with provolone on a croissant, and my husband had the open-faced turkey with cranberry / cream cheese sauce. He also had the French onion soup and I enjoyed a side salad with one of the best dressings I've had in a long while... a strawberry celery dressing. The poppy seed dressing was out of this world too (I asked for both since I couldn't decide). Our sweet waitress, we failed to get her name but she was "server ID 14" on our receipt, couldn't have been more lovely. She was super friendly and provided exceptional service!! And the gift store, which seemed to go on and on and on (three or four different levels throughout the store) was amazing!!! Cute and high quality merchandise throughout. I love this sweet restaurant and gift shop, and if I lived in the area I would go there on a regular basis. The exterior looks like a vintage home. Tons of outdoor gift items filled the front porch as a suggestion of what a fantastic array of gifts fills the interior. I went with my two cousins. We shopped a bit before we had lunch. Then we shopped again once we finished our meal. The rooms have themes so it's easy to find things you are looking for. The dining room felt like a cute cabin. It was warm and inviting. We all ordered different meals and everything was fresh, delicious perfection. And the pretty flower on the plate was a nice touch! Our server was sweet and helpful. I went back here for the first time in awhile on a Friday for lunch. We had a party of 4 and someone in our group had to get there at 10am just for us to get seated by 12:30! Insanity. There is a lot to look at in the gift shop areas while you wait but it's so tightly packed especially with that many people there. I got the grilled cheese (has bacon and some sort of onion jam on it) which was really good but I'm not sure worth that wait time. One person in my group also had their food come out way after the rest of us were done and it wasn't even the right order. They comped it, but still a little disappointing. read more

We had a huge party and since they don't take reservations, we had a long wait and ultimately had to split up. But I enjoyed shopping since there was such a variety of of Christmas items that you don't see most places. It has a rustic charm but the space is very tight and there are steps everywhere due to the different levels. Something to consider if there are mobility issues. It would be difficult for those with walkers or strollers. I got chicken salad which was bland, but everyone else enjoyed their food. Morgan House soup is good. Kudos to our server who was very patient and helpful with some of our demanding tablemates. read more
