They were tempted to buy. But, the shoe didn't fit. They seemed to have more Uggs than Hoka Shoes. They have a small selection of clothing. Employees were friendly. They tried to help. But, they couldn't convince us to buy.

I paid close to $200 for a pair of Hoka's that were supposed to have excellent arch support. They failed after 10 months. Manufacturer asked for numerous photos of the shoes as they had a 1 year warranty. Their reply was 'we see no unusual wear'. Arch support is internal and can be seen in photos. Even the employee of Mile 26 acknowledged an arch support issue. Very disappointed in Hoka's warranty support! No longer a Hoka customer or advocate!!

My husband and I stopped in on a night away in Ventura, 15 minutes before closing and Joann(the owner) didn't seem the least bit concerned. Instead she listened to our story of having four kiddos, assisted me with colors/styles that worked well for me, helped multiple customers seamlessly (even added holes to someone's sandals free of charge) and never once rushed me as we stayed passed her closing time. She is one of the most down to earth business owners we've ever met and she is extremely knowledgeable about the brand. She shared that although kiddos weren't what she wanted she commended families like us. And now I commend her for using her gift to run that store so well! So what I ended up buying is the best part of the story!! I grabbed this cute clog that I never thought I'd actually buy and was like "hey this is comfy". She proceeds to tell me "please take that clog, it's my last one and everyone keeps asking if we'll get more!" I tell her the pair I was wearing someone gifted me about 8 years ago. She said as soon as I walked in the store she was going to tell me I couldn't leave without buying a new pair because of how worn they were and that those weren't supporting my lower back. So I asked her to give it to me straight about the price and she immediately said she'd give me a discount since it was the last pair! As a mom of four I was like umm yes please because I'm super frugal. So I went to pay and scrounged through my purse for any cash I had to avoid as much possible from the credit card processing fee-luckily I had a bit since my bday had just passed. I gave her the cash and asked if I could pay the remaining with card. She says you know what... I'll give them to you for the cash you just gave me. I said what are you serious?!?! And she said "yes you need them to keep raising those babies." I gave her a hug and told her thank you because it was more of blessing than she knew. I spoke to some great people in this shop and wanted to go down to see this 100 year old shop. If you go to the Pendleton shop go to the western/clothing store across the way, selection on shoes, clothing men women baby and kids was great with some major named brands. Every person I met in sales was great. I found exceptional value in the sales items Wrangler jeans at $12.95. Cowboy Hats starting at $65 Make sure you go upstairs to see the Western store. They also have a pet/saddle and feed store. Make sure to watch for their sales.

They're not trying to avoid helping, but the store is often bare bones so the staff need to be busy operating the registers and other things vs roaming around looking to help customers. Prices are great though. So if you find something you like, don't hesitate to pick them up. Chances are you either won't find the same thing in the area or, if you do, for the same price.
