If you are even slightly interested in buying Birkenstocks buy them HERE! I seriously never write reviews and rarely buy myself anything but here I am because of this business and the OWNER! My husband and I stopped in on a night away in Ventura, 15 minutes before closing and Joann(the owner) didn't seem the least bit concerned. Instead she listened to our story of having four kiddos, assisted me with colors/styles that worked well for me, helped multiple customers seamlessly (even added holes to someone's sandals free of charge) and never once rushed me as we stayed passed her closing time. She is one of the most down to earth business owners we've ever met and she is extremely knowledgeable about the brand. She shared that although kiddos weren't what she wanted she commended families like us. And now I commend her for using her gift to run that store so well! So what I ended up buying is the best part of the story!! I grabbed this cute clog that I never thought I'd actually buy and was like "hey this is comfy". She proceeds to tell me "please take that clog, it's my last one and everyone keeps asking if we'll get more!" I tell her the pair I was wearing someone gifted me about 8 years ago. She said as soon as I walked in the store she was going to tell me I couldn't leave without buying a new pair because of how worn they were and that those weren't supporting my lower back. So I asked her to give it to me straight about the price and she immediately said she'd give me a discount since it was the last pair! As a mom of four I was like umm yes please because I'm super frugal. So I went to pay and scrounged through my purse for any cash I had to avoid as much possible from the credit card processing fee-luckily I had a bit since my bday had just passed. I gave her the cash and asked if I could pay the remaining with card. She says you know what... I'll give them to you for the cash you just gave me. I said what are you serious?!?! And she said "yes you need them to keep raising those babies." I gave her a hug and told her thank you because it was more of blessing than she knew. I am not your high heel kind of girl, I actually have issues with my feet, my nails, etc so what I wear needs to be comfortable first and cute second. Not complaining, so I popped inside this nice shoe store in Ventura, which is a nice find. My cup of tea, great selection, comfy sandals, OK prices and very nice customer service. Too bad it's closed on Sundays, but it's a small business, so they need some time off as well! I noticed a few Birkenstock models of sandals that were new to me, so I purchased one. I normally don't write reviews, but I feel this needs to be shared. Over a month ago, my boyfriend and I visited this Birkenstock store looking to buy specific shoe styles. The employee we spoke to was friendly and took our name, phone number, shoe sizes, and styles, she said it would take over a week to come in, but didn't give a clear timeframe. It's now been well over a month with zero communication from the store. We've tried to call a couple times but only get a voicemail, and no one ever calls back. We understand delays can happen, but the complete lack of follow-up and transparency is really disappointing. If you're thinking about ordering something through this location, just be aware that communication may be an issue and wait times can be way longer than expected. Just a great experience, I'm local and wanted some Birks on a whim for a trip next week...I've had 2 pairs but one was the vegan style and way to stiff, the other was leather sole on cork with vegan black straps...not vegan so not opposed to leather but I thought they would be beach/camping friendly - they are not! I was referred to this store by my physical therapist. I had broken my fifth metatarsal in November 2021. The bone has since healed -thank goodness- but I did experience a lot of nerve and tendon pain as a result from the injury. That being said, my footwear is so important going forward. I've got some great tennis shoes but I needed some thing for summer. Enter Birkenstock. You know how you can drive by a store but never know it's there? Such is the case with this store. It's in a little shopping center with just about three or four shops. I went Saturday morning with my daughter and there were customers waiting even before the store opened. The owner was so nice and so helpful, I love to see and support a BIPOC woman owned small local biz! She was helping multiple customers at once, & getting everything handled seamlessly. I am truly impressed! She was so efficient and thorough. I bought a pair of vegan Birkenstock, and my daughter got a pair of the Boston style. There are also a couple of other supportive shoe brands they carry. And anything she doesn't have in stock she said she would gladly order for us. This quirky little shop is perfectly Ventura. It's open sometimes, and not at others, at the whim of the nice woman who owns it. The selection is good and she is super knowledgeable and helpful. It's in a cute little pedestrian corner near the multi-level parking and just about a block from the pier. Sure, the prices might be a wee bit higher than on Amazon, but you get to try the different styles on and if you check in on Yelp you get $10 off, which brings the price to the Amazon price. Birkenstocks are one of those things that you really need to try on before buying, especially if you've never worn them before, due to European sizing and their unique fit. Joanne is extremely patient and knowledgeable about Birkenstocks, and will help you find exactly the style and size that works best for you and your feet. She will also special order for you if she doesn't have the right size or style in stock. She did exactly that for me just last week when I needed the soft footbed London model in my size. A word about pricing--I've seen some reviews that mention you'll pay more than on Amazon. Well, Birkenstock USA recently cut ties with Amazon due to repeated problems with counterfeit product being shipped to consumers, so you may not get what you're expecting if you order from Amazon. You can order directly from Birkenstock online, but you'll pay for shipping and returns, and you can't try them on before you order. And whether you buy from Joanne, Zappos, or Birkenstock, you'll be paying about the same price. The owner is very helpful in fitting shoes. When Birkenstock came out with soles that were softer and wore out faster, she came up with a service in conjunction with a shoe repairman that she was acquainted with. When the soles wear out (but not completely as she could explain), she will send them to the repairman for $15 and they come back as good as new! Amazingly good service. read more

OMG!!!! I left a few hours ago with my first pair of Birkenstock shoes. My feet are still saying "hallelujah!!!" Someone referred me to this store 3 years ago and I wish I had come back then. I began having worse foot pain on the bottoms of my feet and then piecing pain on my top left/side of my foot. Tests confirmed it wasn't diabetes so I decided to just try a pair of Birkenstocks despite not liking the look of them.
