We ordered our wedding cake here and it was honestly one of the best decisions we made. We did a 2 tier round cake with vintage piping in all white, serving about 65 people, with a chocolate mousse flavor and it was so good! It was not only beautiful but actually tasted amazing and we got so many compliments from our guests. Communication with Olivia was super easy, she helped guide the design, and the at home tasting was such a nice touch. Delivery and setup were completely stress free and everything was on time. Choosing Heavenly Cakes and working with Olivia to do our nostalgic dream wedding cake was one of the best decisions we made in all of our wedding planning. We wanted a tiered cake with a water fountain à la the 80s and 90s, and we talked to a dozen bakeries that told us it wasn't possible. Not Olivia. Right away she was a pro and had experience with exactly what we wanted. For the whole process she was quick to reply and very helpful, she's also just a delightful person who cares about her work and all her clients. The cake was so stunning and beautiful, and the two flavors we had (chocolate with chocolate ganache and vanilla with berries and cream) were both the best wedding cake I've ever had. We felt so lucky that the baker who could do what we wanted also was the standout winner for best tasting of all the cakes we tried. We got so many compliments. We're still enjoying the leftovers and it is so good and we're getting asked for extras. Honestly we were disappointed in some of our other vendors, so we are not just handing out positive reviews, I'm proud to sing Heavenly Cakes' praises. This service was a standout from initial planning all the way to execution. Our wedding was July 4 in Somis and the cake was beautiful outside all evening no problem and it was perfect when served. I Bought 24 cupcakes and became disappointed as soon as I opened the box. I saw poor quality cupcakes that appeared to be made with little or no effort. They did not meet the visual expectations we discussed (which was a very rushed and disinterested conversation from Olivia). Each cupcake looked different and was not visually pleasing. I paid over $2 a cupcake that tasted like they came from a box. She did not take transport into consideration. The cupcakes were placed in a larger box than needed, with no regard to structure, so they toppled over in the short, straight 2-minute drive to my house. I had to reconstruct about half of them by reapplying the frosting and strategically redecorating them myself. read more

I went in expecting to enjoy a birthday celebration, but instead, I left feeling frustrated and stressed. First off, I was disappointed to find out they couldn't offer me my birthday buns, which is a tradition (past 8 years) I was looking forward to. When I mentioned it, another guest in the store even offered to buy me one that was beside the point. While I appreciated her kindness, it felt awkward, and I didn't want to create any turmoil or drama over a 7$ bundtlet. I also expressed that my intention was to buy two more. To make matters worse, the customer in front of me was facing the same issue. It's someone's birthday--how hard can it be to acknowledge that and provide a little extra something? It should be a joyful occasion, not the most stressful part of my day. Overall, I expected much better, especially when celebrating something special. I won't be returning anytime soon.

The prime deals they host are normally as good price wise as Costco but then you get organic and some other good extra labels slapped on it. 10/10 12/10 staff 15/10 Oscar and glad I get to live so close by.

As an item I wanted was not in store, I ordered for pickup. First time I have ever done so. I was not sure where to go, what to do etc so I approched the associate who seemed to be handling that area. I saw he was busy so I politely apologized for bothering him and explained I was pretty much clueless on where to go, what to do etc. He told me to check in. I asked him where to do so and he told me to do it the same way I ordered. I ordered on Amazon so tried to open it. Well that store has horrible internet so it took a minute but the only option was curbside vs in store. I again apologized and explained. He told me he wasn't familiar with the app and turned away. I just stood there. Another woman arrived and seemed to be helping out but when I tried to ask her for help, she rather abruptly told me they were busy and other people were waiting. I would not have flinched if she, in a semi polite manner would have simply said something like, "we have quite a few orders but if you don't mind waiting a moment, we will help you." Instead I felt awkward and embarrassed. She did find my order which was handed to me in an efficient but not warm and friendly way and that was it. Both employees seemed irritated that I did not know the "lay of the land" I get the store was busy. They seemed to be short staffed. The woman said they were having technical issues which I totally get and I am sure they were both tired and frustrated. I've been there. But I left feeling ashamed for putting the employees out. Whole Foods - your Oxnard internet is awful so looking for instructions in an email or app is often fruitless. Maybe some clear signage like you have at the Amazon self serve? A simply thing like that would go a long way. I won't try online pickup again. If am item I want is unavailable I will skip it there and purchase it somewhere else. On the upside, Angel, one of your male employees, is always SUPER nice and very helpful. Ditto for the employees at the seafood station. This is the only poor experience I have had.
