Then they upcharged me $225 to remove the damaged lace and found some extra pieces to add on that weren't cut. 2nd, instead of fixing the bust area they just tightened the sides that then had to be let out and the bust adjusted like it should have been in the first place. 3rd, I specifically asked shouldn't the bustle loops be elastic so they don't rip. They said no...and out of 10 bustled loops only 1 top one lasted and a few under, I had to safety pin up the entire back of her gown. Even the maid of honors dress had to get redone because they cinched it so tight. So glad I wasted $915 and then they wanted a tip!

Genia's daughter brought the suits out on hangers and my husband paid a whopping $240! I suggested he try the suits to make sure they were right. He tried the pants for the wedding and we discovered a giant patch in the seat of the pants. They are unusable. Genia was highly defensive saying we had brought the pants in that way and it was not her responsibility. If there had been a patch we did not know as it was in the seam. I was astounded that a tailor would alter pants that would not be usable without notifying us there was a problem. I strongly suggest avoiding Genia's as customer care and pride in quality work does not appear to be a priority. She overcharges and customer satisfaction is not a priority. My son-in-law used Monteleone's with good results.

My dream dress was long sleeve lace, yet I purchased a strapless plunging neckline dress with floral appliqué. I tried it on every day for a week hating the dress more with each try on...then I called Custom Alterations for a hem and take in, she answered and swiftly got me on the schedule. When I arrived at my appt I basically let her know I despised the dress and wanted to give it a complete makeover. I thought she was going to tell me I was crazy especially coming to her LESS THAN 8 WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING...but she was confident and totally up for whatever I wanted to do! I told her my long list of things I wanted to change and shared many Pinterest photos with her, and she emailed me an invoice later listing all the changes I wanted with pricing. She was transparent about pricing, timeline, and the dress's limitations...really great communication!! She created sleeves including buttons, loops, and straps for attachment. Removed, recreated, re attached and hemmed my skirt. And she recreated the bodice and added lace. I came to her really upset with the dress I purchased and left a few short weeks later with the dress I envisioned myself in. It looked absolutely amazing and nothing like the original dress at all. I love when someone has a talent they are passionate about and do that thing really well. And that is Peggy and her team at Custom Alterations.
