    Fried Catfish Po'Boy
    Marisa M.

Amazing fun place! Sundays bingo from 4-6. I won a tshirt! The drinks are excellent and super affordable around $12 for a cocktail, the drink I got was so refreshing and delicious. I also got the catfish po boy which was piled high. The catfish was so good and flavorful. There was slaw and pickles on it as well and the tots had a Cajun seasoning to them. Everything was fried perfectly, i did not feel gross after at all. It was a huge serving and tasted so fresh and delicious. Bartenders and staff are so nice and welcoming. I wish I lived in Brooklyn! Would come here more often. It's pretty chill inside. And there is a pool table in the back and they also have outdoor seating.

My partner and I were seeing a show in the area and wanted to try a new spot, so after some research, we landed on Heavy Woods! Drinks were decent prices, and food was good. I really enjoyed the crawfish dip and the fried chicken sandwich was solid, too. The tots had a perfect amount of seasoning. Wasn't too packed when we went, and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Ventured away from WB to give this place a try. We ended up getting a beer(they ran out of my first choice,) a cocktail, and a few dishes. The Big Easy Tofu Po'Boy was actually better than I expected, and the bread it was served on was really good. The breading on the Fried Chicken Sandwich had an amazing crunch, although the meat could have been a bit juicier. The Jambalaya and Deviled Eggs also hit the spot. It's a bit out of the way for me, so I probably won't be back. But definitely check them out if you're from the area.

Busy little place with trendy music. Polite and friendly service. Food and drinks were good.

I thought the food options were not great for vegitarian or vegans. This is clearly not their demographic though so that is okay. I went with a group of 6 and the seating was nice in the back room, but the music was not great. Service was good for a pub type bar, the wings were reportedly not great from my friends. Good little dive bar, not a dinner spot.

Great food, service, and hidden New York brunch spot. Saw they have a happy hour from 3-8pm M-F. This is longer than most. Their Bloody Mary's and clothing options are worth the try.

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

Watching soccer, pretending as if I had been looking forward to Germany playing Curaçao for weeks. The occasional glance at the Chrysler building across the East River. As I worked my way through my beers, the amazing bartender perfectly timing my refills, I felt as if this may be my new place. My "get away from all the noise" safe haven. That was until I was halfway through beer three. It all got dark. I mean it literally got dark. A waitress began pulling down all the blinds, taking away the sun haven I had found myself loving. Taking away the joy I had worked so hard to achieve. That is when I knew that that beer would be my last. I did not come to a bar with a wall of windows to end up in a place darker than the Rikers Island cells mere miles away. So I ask this one question to the waitress, why? Why ruin the joy of light? Why ruin it?

A full hour passed, my party arrived, ordered their food, and received their meals before I ever saw mine. When I asked our waiter what was going on, he was confused and said he would check with the kitchen. Fast forward to the 90-minute mark: everyone at my table had received their food and completely finished eating. Finally, the kitchen brought out my order--except they only brought ONE bao bun instead of the two I ordered, and it was completely cold. At that point, I told the waiter I didn't even want it anymore. He apologized and insisted they would make 2 fresh, hot bao buns for me quickly. I gave them one last chance, but another 20 minutes went by and nothing ever came. After 2 full hours of waiting and watching everyone else eat, I had to cancel my order entirely. I ended up having to leave my own party hungry and find a local pizza shop just to get a meal. The lack of communication and complete failure in service was unacceptable. I will not be returning. Oh and mind you my friends pointed out on the receipt it said customer didn't like food to cancel out the order rather than. Food never arrived.

The BK Sliders (3 pc) were solid: thick applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Russian dressing, and pickle on mini brioche buns. Simple, satisfying, and nicely done. The real standout though was the Calamari with shichimi pepper, jalapeño, lime zest, and herbal dipping sauce--absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. I've never ate here, but I recommend grabbing drinks during the summer months when they open the canopy. It's a nice rooftop feel. However, I went on a fall Saturday night and the place was completely empty. I walked upstairs and even wondered if the bar was open due to a chair blocking the entrance. It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder. Wheelchair access details: The bar is on a terrace. The accessible entrance is through the Hoxton hotel. A staff member will take you through the k'far kitchen and up via a service elevator. No barriers once you are upstairs and plenty of accessible outdoor and indoor/outdoor options, including a small length of wheelchair height bar. A perfectly functional though unexciting wheelchair accessible restroom is available.
