My partner and I just enjoying ourselves on Bedford Ave. This is the spot for strong drinks and a good time. The food here is very good. These margaritas were hitting hard. Everything is curbside, so grab a drink and mingle with people passing by. The staff is ok, they could be a bit rude at times because of the type of customers that gather here but nothing outside of general human nature. Its definitely a kick it type of spot in Williamsburg. Live, Love and Laugh - Sha

Went late on a Friday night with hubby and 3 kids plus my mom. very accommodating (we had called ahead) the drinks are $16 we had margaritas very strong i must say. I had the nachos i Love nachos these were a 3 out of 5 . My 18 year old son had wings very spicy he said but he liked them also had the steak burrito which he didn't like he said it was bland. My mom had the cheese quesadilla she like it. My husband had the steak fajitas absolutely loved it steak nice and juicy but the steak in the burrito was bland my 9 year old daughter had the chicken burrito she said it was okay. The place was okay nice music definitely from someone's play list. Still had a nice time but don't think we will some again .

Tecate With The Vegetable Tacos

It's okay even though it's not authentic. Seems like a pretty typical Mexican place. The only difference is the higher prices. It's not the most expensive restaurant on Bedford. Some things here are better priced. I came in here the last time with my hot woman friend. It was already pretty busy so there were only bar stools open. The place isn't that big so it fills quick. It's especially busy at happy hour. This was going on when we got there. I had a Tecate in a can. It was about $3 at happy hour. They have some excellent margaritas. It's about $5 for these at happy hour. They also have many other food specials. I had a good experience with the food. My choice was the vegetable tacos. These are entirely made from vegetables. Except the tortilla of course. These are about $10 for a few. I have eaten much worse Mexican crap. My friend agreed it was better going here than cheaping out on fast food. Vera Cruz May not be exactly cheap, but it's a place around here that's not a ripoff.

I've been going here for years and always too busy eating or enjoying the vibe to write a review, feels like home with a warm and welcoming staff, fully knowledgeable on the details of the menu and promos. Also, adhering to the covid protocol. Nothing better on #BedfordAve than to outdoor lounge, drink, food, and take in the vibrant feels in the community. **Everything I've had here has been extremely delicious but today, my focus is the special #shrimp, steak, chicken fajita combo, washing it down with the #bedford banger. Affordable prices with happy hours options, let's get into it. Mmmmm **tender-succulent steak-jumbo shrimps- perfectly cooked chicken and veggies soaked in Tecate --Lets it sizzle at your table and watch the jealously of other patrons' eyes. Braces yourself and refer to the picture below!! Breakdown: Let us look at the line up- armed with 22 years of culinary skills at Vera Cruz and a true mastermind creating this mouth-watering #Fajita dish. STAFF - 5/5 All-Star team, believe you will see their smiles through their masks- DRINKS - 5/5 flawless, try the #Bedford Banger or any of the Margaritas -take a shot too, why not -enjoy yourself!! ATMOSPHERE- 5/5Diverse, vibrant, personal, and yet a calm oasis for you and your guests in the midst of all the excitements on Bedford ave. FOOD- 5/5 everything on the menu is very delicious and efficient with order and delivery to your table time !! YUM YUM APPROVES!!!! P.s. Be sure to check out the courtyard in the back as well for more relaxed and calm dining. P.s.S there's a lot of friendly locals, so feel free to join in the Vera Cruz festivities.

Flautas de pollo, tacos

In search of Margaritas, we found Vera Cruz and I'm glad we did! I actually started off with a Paloma $14, but then realized the margaritas were $5 on happy hour, so I switched over for my next one. I love sitting at the bar, mingling with the bartenders and watching them create cocktails. Ash was teaching one of the other bartenders so it was cool to watch. We ordered Flautas de Pollo, and the tacos that were on happy hour, a $2 beef for my friend and mushroom for me. Also ordered chips and salsa of course. We had a great time, so great I only remembered we ordered the flautas cause I have photos. :) Everything was great, service, food and drinks! Would definitely drop in, if you're looking for good drinks or a cool hangout and happy hour.

Always love Vera Cruz! Have been here a few times and service is always very attentive and kind. This past time I had the steak tacos and previously also had the tortilla soup. Both were good. My friend and I also had the frozen margaritas which were sweet, but good as well. The vibes of the restaurant are fun -- the outdoor patio in the back is also nice when it's not super cold.

Vera Cruz serves up delicious food and offers a selection of tasty cocktails. I was very impressed with their shrimp tacos- they were juicy and full of flavor. Unfortunately, we weren't able to check out their garden due to it being cold out but I'll be sure to come back and do so.

I've been coming to Vera Cruz for a couple years now, mainly for their delicious Margaritas and array of vegetarian options! Their vegetarian tacos are a must try. Can't go wrong with sautéed vegetables and mushrooms, with salsa and avocado sauce. It's also very easy to make their menu items vegan by asking them to exclude the cheese and dairy products. Their staff is always super friendly, and attentive. Not to mention the food is moderately priced! Definitely recommend stopping in for your next taco Tuesday!

Stuffed Salmon with rice and retried beans

I have been coming to this place for countless years, back in the days I was 400lb and could eat anything, now I'm 170lb with a lab band so breads ,meats and sodas are out. So fish is my safe way and they have the best Salmon out there! Truth is it's not only the fish it's the sauce and the stuffing combined but I'm hooked! I have it at least once a week. I know it may sound strange to people without a lab band but it's the only full meal I ever eat, I truly recommend you try it

A friend and I were venturing in the neighborhood and decided to check out this place to grab a drink and something quick to munch on. We sat at the bar, my friend ordered a beer and I had a Michelada (one of my favorites) along with an order of guacamole with tortilla chips. As we observed the space and the clientele, it appears a lot of regulars frequent this space. We were sipping our drinks and realized the order of guac and chips were taking longer than usual. The barista apologized for the delay and explained their kitchen was unusually busy due to the brunch menu which had just launched that day. They provided us with two tequila shots on the house for waiting longer than usual for the order and then we received our order with nicely warmed chips and homemade guac. Overall the place is cool to go in for a drink and just have a chill time and down a few Micheladas...which by the way one is enough for me.

$2 happy hour beef tacos

I would frequent this establishment often when it first opened numerous years ago. My favorite menu item was the chimichangas. I am unsure if they still served them. I was walking by today and noticed the sign with several happy hour offerings. So in I went grabbed a seat by the front window. We had a few cocktails and $2 happy hour beef tacos. Pretty decent and straight forward taco beef on a masa shell nothing extra. Plenty of bar area seating, small indoor dining area, spacious backyard patio for dining. Price point average. Nice, laid back staff. Clean restrooms.

Happy hour is pretty on point! $8 margs, $2 tacos, $1 drafts. What's not to love? Went with the girls and we got tacos, jalapeño relleno, shrimp nachos, and their street corn. All of it was so delicious! Their tequila selection is fabulous!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

4.4 and rounded up. Ambiance 4 stars…read more Food 5 stars. Service 4.3 stars. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.

I ordered the Shrimp Costeños--chipotle-marinated shrimp with pineapple salsa, sweet potato purée, and tropical pico de gallo. The combination sounded ambitious, but it worked beautifully. The shrimp had a nice smoky kick from the chipotle, the pineapple salsa brought just the right amount of sweetness, and the sweet potato purée tied everything together. It was one of those dishes where every bite tasted a little different in the best possible way. My son ordered the Grilled Pescado, which happened to be Chilean sea bass that day. The fish was perfectly cooked--flaky, buttery, and practically melted with a fork. Paired with the chileatole sauce, esquites, quinoa, and arugula-jicama salad, it was surprisingly sophisticated for someone whose culinary opinions usually revolve around chicken nuggets. My wife went with the 3 Taco Combo, which disappeared so quickly I barely had time to negotiate a bite. Based on the speed at which they vanished, I can only assume they were excellent. We also tried both the red and white sangrias. They were fine--certainly drinkable, but not the star of the show. Think of them as the opening act, while the food was definitely the headliner. Overall, Ruta Oaxaca delivers flavorful, well-executed dishes with vibrant presentations that make the meal feel special without being pretentious. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the plates were so colorful that my phone ate before I did.
