Updating my review after poor experience with the owner, Joe. The two guys that helped me pack were very professional and courteous and despite the problems I encountered when I unpacked my furniture I would hire these two again if it were not for Joe. When my pod arrived at my destination, multiple pieces were damaged (see pictures). I provided 24 moving blankets for a small 1 bedroom apartment, which I estimated based on google search recommendations. I'm not the expert, their company is. All blankets were used but there were no indications from the two guys that they needed more. I also provided bubble wrap and plastic wrap, of which there were plenty extra, and moving straps, which Joe recommended I buy, but the guys did not use. The guys wrapped up things outside where I could not directly supervise, but I figured they were the experts. Damaged items: A side table was scratched up on sides and top and this piece had not been wrapped in moving blankets - this was placed in the middle of the pod well before they could have possibly run out of moving blankets. Even if they had run out, they could have used bubble wrap. The drawer knob on the front of this piece was also missing but I found I rolling in the pod. A dining chair had a very large, 4 inch chunk out of the leg, extending about 1/3 the width of the leg. Many scratches on legs of furniture, none of which were wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap. I called Joe to discuss the damaged items and he asked me to send him pictures, which I did. He did not respond for about a month, so I texted again. Still no response after a week so I called him and left a message to which he called back a few days later. This conversation was entirely unproductive and he refused to accept that his company could have been responsible for the damage. He said that "this many issues is unheard of." I mainly focused on the 2 most damaged items, which is not an "unheard of" amount. He also said the 4 inch chunk was "just a scratch." He blamed it first on the moving company that unpacked me and when I pointed out that one piece wasn't even wrapped, then blamed it on me not providing enough moving blankets. To which I responded that his guys never came to me with this issue and that I would have been more than happy to go out and buy more or give them blankets from my apartment. His response was that his guys ALWAYS tell the customer if they need additional things...but they did not tell me. By this point, I really was not expecting any sort of insurance claim based on prior poor reviews of his company. I wanted to express my disappointment that his guys did not come to me if they needed additional materials and that they should have utilized plastic or bubble wrap on the legs of furniture. I thought that as the owner of his company, he would acknowledge my feedback, however he refused to accept that his guys could have been responsible for any damage. Everything he said was an excuse. I would have appreciated a simple "I'm sorry that your items were damaged and I will speak with my guys about ensuring they communicate with the customer if they need more materials." Instead Joe made it seem like my interpretation of the situation were not true and that it was my fault my items were damaged. I highly recommend not using this company solely because of the owner, but if you do use this company, please directly supervise the people who pack your items and check in repeatedly if they need additional materials. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. Multiple damage, denial of responsibility, ghosts when asked to make it right. Spend your money on a professional crew if you value your belongings, they sure won't. This is an honest review with the details I have recorded and witnessed. Joe sent me his "B Team" (his words) as the main team was busy Saturday. They only accept CASH. I should have known better. DAMAGE 1: The crew permanent damaged a $2,500 bedroom set by removing my protective moving blankets, dropping the pieces on asphalt, and sliding them across the asphalt. I had just come out to look at progress to see the dresser slam against the ground and slid forward to remove the handcart from underneath it. There are scrapes and gouges on the bed and dresser. DAMAGE 2: Dresser drawers were then stacked on top of each other, causing the top one to fall hard onto asphalt destroying the corner edge. All 3 movers and I witnessed the damage as I was the one to pick up the drawer. Picture included. DAMAGE 3: A crewmember stacked 4 boxes on their handcart, lazily lifted the top box dragging the box of ceramics beneath it to fall, despite having "FRAGILE" written all over it. He apologized; I opened the box upstairs to find the $40 ceramic trash bin in multiple pieces despite using a lot of packing paper and cushions. NEED TO SUPERVISE: I went outside to look at progress and carry fragile boxes into my home. MULTIPLE times, I saw workers on their phone, smoking, or seemingly slacking off--they perked up when I walked out and started working. I felt that I needed to supervise the team non-stop from that point on. They couldn't figure out how to get a standard 3-cushion sofa through the door. They got the sofa stuck in the door and said "I don't know what you want us to do, it won't fit" until I asked them to turn it a different way which worked without a problem. I had to pick up an empty energy drink can after they left. This really isn't a big deal, but with the entire situation being handled so poorly, I'm not going to leave details out. That lack of professionalism is sloppy. SHADY OWNER/POOR COMMUNICATION: The team instructed me to reach out to the owner to talk through damage. I tipped the team well; I realize moving is tough and mistakes happen and they seemed sincere. I called and finally got a hold of the owner Monday at 7:08pm. (See picture of phone call history) He asked me to send pictures to him via text message of the damage. I was incredibly polite to say the guys were nice, but I explained what happened and asked him to file a claim with his insurance. I also asked for a receipt for my own records. I texted a follow-up on Wednesday with no response. Thursday I called 5 times with no response. I then called with an alternative phone number and the owner picked up - AMAZING. I asked for an update on the insurance claim and he cut me off saying my POD wasn't packed correctly. It was packed by a professional, insured team with 20 moving blankets and numerous ratchet straps where needed. The damage didn't occur in the POD, it occurred when the team removed moving blankets and dropped my belongings. He then said that there was existing damage on the furniture which there was some, yes; however, I was not asking for it to be repaired, only the damage caused by the team sliding the wood on asphalt which is distinctively different. He then tried to say that I'm expecting him to pay for everything which is not the case, just the damage they incurred and witnessed. The owner and/or his team lied about the damage. Each time I spoke on the phone, the owner talked over me. I asked if I could finish my statement and he said "no you may not." I asked for a receipt and the owner hung up on me. Far from a professional experience. He has refused to provide a receipt, refused to take responsibility for damage caused by his employees, and was overall incredibly rude on the phone. read more

Had these guys help with my move. Terrible service. Caught them goofing off on the job and damaging multiple boxes and furniture without so much as an apology. I would have been better off moving the items myself or hiring the kids next door. The owner is a real work of art - exactly the type you will regret working with unless you're open to being lied to and spoken down towards as if he is better than you. Joe and Shawn showed up right on time and did a great job loading my pods. They were courteous and professional. Joe walked thru the house to see what needed to be loaded into the pods. He formulated his plan on how to load the pods and kept me informed thru the whole process. He used the moving blankets and plastic wrap to protect all of the furniture. He also had special tools to make moving the heavy items down the stairs much easier. My husband and I could NEVER have done what Joe and Shawn did in a short couple of hours. They were very focused and were working the entire time. It was 97 degrees outside with a heat index of 102 degrees and they just kept working through it. We had no idea how long it would take and we only booked them for 2 hours, which would maybe be adequate for less items. But we have a lot of stuff and 2 pods. Thankfully they had a buffer of free time before their next appointment and they helped get EVERYTHING loaded into the pods. They went the extra mile with helping us load our pods. Heavy foot movers are top notch and I would use them again in a heartbeat! read more

The heavyfoot guys arrived on time. They were careful with the packing, reasonably priced with no hidden fees, polite and pleasant. They were knowledgeable about pods and how to pack them correctly. Yes, it is an acquired skill and these guys know what they are doing. They asked questions about how we wanted fragile items handled and then showed us how they had packed them.
