My boyfriend and I booked a one hour trail ride for a Saturday morning while we were visiting the Keuka Lake area. The team at Mountain Rose communicated effectively with us about moving our ride to the afternoon to miss the rain moving in. We had the most incredible afternoon. From the moment we arrived at the farm, we were transported into something of a movie. The staff, the horses, the fairytale-esque riding trails; everything was outstanding. 100% recommend for couples, girls trips, nature lovers; everyone and anyone looking to try something new. Dolly, went above, and beyond and was kind enough to ensure the group waited for me to get there, as little did I know that there was a race happening in Ellicottville and traffic. Holly, and Debbie were the trail guides that instruced us on techniques with riding our horses. All the horses were well trained, opted for the one hour ride that was well worth it. The trail consisted of crossing the road, woods, going over a hill and the creek. My horse was " Chick", and had a blast on a beautiful fall day with great weather. I don't think every kid deserves a participation trophy but I will echo a previous review the coach there is tough you need thick skin to deal with him. Not a place where the kiddos can build self esteem in the saddle. Horses are cared for moderately well. But overall as a teen who road here I had good foundation and I thank him for that but the trainer really at times was petty and unkind but much of this area suffers from drama and unprofessionalism it is profoundly sad to me the nonsense that goes on. My recommendation is he is good with the horses and not always the people.

We had about a 20 trail riding within a shelter just to make sure we all knew how to hold the reins and how to sit properly. Once everyone got a hang of it we went into our trail riding. It was extremely peaceful, with three instructors between our group making sure to remind us on holding the reins correctly, and to watch out for branches etc. the trail was beautiful between grass fields and into the woods. It was extremely affordable and not too far from downtown Rochester. My group and I will be going back soon. Only down side is they only accept cash, if they would get a arm on site that would make it easier for people who don't carry cash around
