Not a trustworthy mechanic do not trust this shop take your car somewhere else. They will damage your vehicle and then tell you that it was broken and tried to charge you extra money. They didn't get the chance to get me because as soon as my vehicle arrived on a tow truck, they did not know that my mother was standing there watching and Alejandro rubbed his hands together and said Word for Word I'm about to make some money off of this one. My mother couldn't believe he said that, and called me and told me immediately I had two other gentlemen called down there one of them, which was another mechanic that referred me to them and speak with him and then he tried to explain oh no, it wasn't like that I didn't mean it like that that's exactly how you meant it so I called another tow truck put my vehicle that I was donating to my mother back on the tow truck immediately and took it away from that shop. Don't waste your time taking your vehicle there they are not trustworthy. They will damage your vehicle. Clearly he set it out of his own mouth and try to make money off of you! Brought my car here for a diagnostic under RepairPal's Maxcare warranty. Alejandro was very helpful with the process, unfortunately since I had previously taken my car to another mechanic Hector's shop was unable to perform the work due to the other shop not wanting to release the work. I wish Hectors shop would have done my repairs from the beginning. They were very helpful and knowledgeable and kept me informed the whole process. I am 75 years old and have driven a BMW for most of my adult life. My car stopped and this error message came up: Fuel System Fuel Supply: Fuel Pump Module Requires Calibration. I took my car to Hector's Auto Repair. I shared my problem. They stated that they would conduct a 21-Point Quick Inspection for $185, an amount which will be applied to needed work. This sounded reasonable so I left my car. I received a text with the inspection, which called for the above repair, a fuel pump, and a fuel tank, a total cost of $5,777.92 ( I had installed a new fuel pump 5 months before). I called to speak to a mechanic. I was informed that I had to come in to speak to a mechanic. The receptionist was very polite but had no additional information to offer. At the shop, I again spoke to the receptionist, not a mechanic. I was done asked for a copy of the inspection and informed her that I was not having the work done. I was informed that the inspection report could not be printed, I could refer to the text copy. I left, but needed to share my experience, I felt it was unethical. read more

But they also always go with the most expensive options for repair. I had a check engine light on my Audi and took it to the shop. The lady at reception named Maria I believe was absolutely clueless about the situation so I had to speak to the mechanic. I knew that all it needed was a new gas cap but they presented me with two different options. They said it was the purge valve and that would be like 900$ to fix or the gas cap and that was like 40$. The lady kept insisting that I pay the 900$ because that's what she thinks is wrong with it. Ended up getting a new gas cap and my check engine light disappeared. The lady at reception is absolutely clueless about cars. She told me I needed new brakes because waters causes crystallization on my brakes. The moment I heard her say that I knew that I'm never coming back here again. Like I said mechanics is knowledgeable but they go charge ya an arm and a leg and always make you chose the most expensive repairs. read more

We were so grateful Hector stopped to help us on the side of the freeway. Our vehicle overheated and died by Kingman. He had his family with him traveling into town, but he still stopped. A tow was going to cost a fortune.. He helped us get to O'riley and had to replace the radiator! He did it in the parking lot and we were able to drive back to Peoria. We were so grateful. The lady called me bacc and told me that it was going to be a total of 1,361.74 she also said sum otha bull shit ... I own a Mercedes, took it there to have my coolant leak checked out and fixed but in order for them to fix it they had to charge me $150 for a diagnostics even though I knew the coolant was leaking so I paid it only because the receptionist told me the inspection fee would go towards the fix so I did and to my surprise I got a bill for 2,298 over 1300 for labor to fix a coolant hose, . I'm a single mom I'm by myself and yeah that's no reason to try to rip me off, please do not go to hectors please the dealership is less expensive, they are scamming people for their money. I have Volkswagen Jetta and I leave in Barstow, it was really hard for me to find a mechanic that would want to work on my car. Till I found this place on the internet. I brought my car in and they did the diagnos and told me what was wrong, and the things my car needed. I had specific budget and a couple things to fixed on my car. The receptionist and the owner Hector worked with me from the beginning and helped me out a lot. Hector was really honest and told me what was the most important to fixed first on my car, he didn't just told me to do everything just for him to make money. She also mention I was going to need a thermostat...which I just replace last April along with the water pump. At the bottom is a list of things that he said I needed. As a female client he was rude and arrogant when I would question what was being done to my vehicle which was annoying because I will see how different he was with male customers with more detail explanation since he couldn't fake an explanation for someone who knows about cars. I couldn't wait to leave the nightmare of service which cost 3x more than what I was expected to pay. Never ever will I bring my vehicle or recommend his shop. I typically am on Yelp to post reviews about food or food places to avoid, but this time, I had to thank Hector Sr. and Hector Jr. for the professional manner of replacing my transmission (At an amazing price, nonetheless). I became aware of the business because my friend had actually suggested coming here at getting a quote for a new transmission for my Kia. I was in dire need of the transmission, and had nearly been "jipped" by another mechanic shop, telling me I need to be paying $1,900 for a transmission; how come, I call this place and was promptly and professionally, made aware that it was $1200 for parts and labor? I drove my little Kia there (it's only 3 miles away from my house) and became acquainted with the father-and-son duo. Both men quickly assessed the situation, before further assuring me that it was indeed the transmission that needed to be replaced. Both men were patient and efficient as they let me know that they would have it ready in 3 days, and would call me as soon as the car was ready. I forgot to mention, dear audience, that this was on the 22nd of December, quite close to Christmas, when I dropped off my car. On the second day, Christmas Eve, I get a call from Hector Jr. and was made aware that the car was ready to come home. I could not thank them enough as they had my car ready right before Christmas. These men waited for me to pick-up my car before they closed shop for the day. I am one to acknowledge the hard work that these men have done, and thank them for the service I received. I recommended them to my uncle and mother, Yvette Triplett, and now my family goes over whenever there's a problem with their cars. I could not have found a better jewel amongst the ghetto, as I have found at Hector's Auto Repair. Thank you once again! Maybe I called at a bad time. It IS retrograde after all. When I called in I stated the make and model of my car, and described very briefly what my car was doing. The guy cuts me off and blurts out "WE WOULD NEED TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC." I said "I understand that, I just had two questions regarding that. One, how much is the diagnostic, and two-" He cuts me off again and says "It's $100" I said ok, when I talked to my dad he said it may be the transmission or may be the catalytic converter. What's the estimated price for each of those so I know what costs I'm potentially looking at. He tells me they don't quote any prices over the phone. I said "Even though I told you what kind of car I have?" He said "Yup. We don't quote over the phone." RED FLAG FOR ME. He tried it. I'll never set foot in here. I'm not stupid. read more

Worst place I've EVER taken my truck I would HIGHLY recommend you steer clear. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was getting a replacement, refurbished part which they bought from a third party. When the part failed, they refused to even look at my truck without charging me over $100. They offered zero assistance for tow, which is understandable, but how rude they were in combination with refusal to even inspect that the part was not faulty was absolutely bad business. I ended up getting a replacement part from the third party. Thankfully they were MUCH more accommodating. Please save yourself the headache from this awful business. read more
