I was worried they would be bike-judgey, but they weren't at all and totally helped even our basic questions. Super happy with the great customer service and bikes we purchased!

Details of the timeline and my…read moreexperience are below, but the summary is - I'd suggest you find another place to mount bindings. Erik's, in my experience, is not skilled at this task. Timeline: December 10 - brought Season powder skis and Marker bindings into Erik's. I bought these skis/bindings from Evo.com (online ski retailer) as a compatible combo. December 11 - I received a call asking me for my proof of purchase for the bindings after the Erik's ski tech cracked what they referred to as the "Clamor" part of the bindings, and they needed to contact Marker to get a replacement. December 13 - I was informed that the mounting failed, which left holes in the skis in the location where the ski manufacturer recommends bindings be mounted. Erik's staff asked if I was OK re-mounting my bindings in a different location on the skis, and the previous holes epoxied. I informed Erik's that I was not OK with this, and we agreed that Erik's would replace the skis. December 22 - Erik's confirmed the replacement skis were at the store, and the replacement Marker bindings parts were as well. I was informed that my bindings were going to be mounted by the Erik's ski tech who does all the training in order to reduce risk of mounting issues during the next attempt. January 5 - I was informed my skis were ready. January 6 - I picked up my skis, and was charged the full amount for the mounting of my bindings despite the time and hassle cost of the experience. Summary: In the end Erik's made things right, and did a good job of communicating clearly along the way as well as setting expectations appropriately, but I would caution against having bindings mounted by Erik's unless you have no time pressure, and are willing to deal with potential hassle along the way.

I would warn anyone wishing to purchase a bike online from Erik's Bikes. My experience buying an…read morealmost $4,000 BMC road bike was very disappointing. It started well, with the perception of a discounted price against the original price. When I called the online customer service to ask if it was a new bike without any defects, they assured me it was. They did qualify that although it may have been on the floor, they would not send me a bike with defects. HOWEVER, the bike arrived with a large gash in the paint, which also came with a gash in the FexEx box-- it was unclear if the gash came from FedEx or before shipping from Erik's. When I asked Erik's what my options were given the situation, they said it looked like a type of gash that happened on their floor, so they offered a $50 gift card or I could return the bike. For a $4,000 purchase, that's not ideal, especially since I noticed the gash after I brought the bike to be assembled. They said I could also make a claim against FedEx but said they would not provide a waiver to allow me to process a claim with FedEx. What's the point of sending me to FedEx if they won't provide the required waiver? Although Erik's did give me the option I to return the bike, I feel that the customer service experience was disappointing and I will not be making any future purchases from Eriks. I warn anyone out there looking to purchase anything online that is discounted to know that this is the likely response from Erik's Bikes. I paid $4,000 for a dream bike, and am left disappointed, misled and frustrated. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

Ross was working on a bike and said he'd help me out. He determined I had a leak in the tube, which he quickly replaced. He also took the time to tweak my brakes and handle bars. When I offered him my credit card, he kindly said no. I insisted, as he had no idea what a lifesaver he was to me. Again, he said no. I can't thank Ross enough for his kind and generous support in getting this ol' gal back on her bike. Be on the look out for Ross and two other Velofix vans around the lakes area, plus as a bonus they also make house calls!

My bike was repair where I could ride again but it was not the same as before accident. As the weather is starting to be nice out, I took my bike down to ride and the brakes were not very tight and the gears were not shifting smoothly as before. I did a search for bike tune ups near me and Velofix came up on the search again. I was going to take my bike to Nokomis Bike shop but after my husband went to check it out, they have an undetermined time frame of when the bike would be worked on so I decided to schedule an appt with Velofix. Luckily, they had one opening left for Thursday May 20. Prices were comparable to Nokomis Bike Shop for a basic tune up. It was great because Velofix came to my house and worked on the bike right in their mobile van and was done in an hour. Brant was friendly and good to work with. I did my check in and got a surprised check in offer for a free cooling towel with any service but I didn't save the offer and so I'm not able to pull it up again. I told Brant that and he was surprised of the offer and didn't have any cooling towels available. Overall, I would recommend Velofix because of the convenience, pricing and friendly staff.
