I punctured my back tire while riding along West Parkway. While walking it back to The Falls, I came upon a Velofix van in a parking lot. Ross was working on a bike and said he'd help me out. He determined I had a leak in the tube, which he quickly replaced. He also took the time to tweak my brakes and handle bars. When I offered him my credit card, he kindly said no. I insisted, as he had no idea what a lifesaver he was to me. Again, he said no. I can't thank Ross enough for his kind and generous support in getting this ol' gal back on her bike. I first heard about Velofix when my bike was in accident Ave I needed repairs and searched online but I think at that time they were not doing bike repairs so I took my bike to Erik's Bike Shop in Richfield. My bike was repair where I could ride again but it was not the same as before accident. As the weather is starting to be nice out, I took my bike down to ride and the brakes were not very tight and the gears were not shifting smoothly as before. I did a search for bike tune ups near me and Velofix came up on the search again. I was going to take my bike to Nokomis Bike shop but after my husband went to check it out, they have an undetermined time frame of when the bike would be worked on so I decided to schedule an appt with Velofix. Luckily, they had one opening left for Thursday May 20. Prices were comparable to Nokomis Bike Shop for a basic tune up. It was great because Velofix came to my house and worked on the bike right in their mobile van and was done in an hour. Brant was friendly and good to work with. I did my check in and got a surprised check in offer for a free cooling towel with any service but I didn't save the offer and so I'm not able to pull it up again. I told Brant that and he was surprised of the offer and didn't have any cooling towels available. Overall, I would recommend Velofix because of the convenience, pricing and friendly staff. read more

It's during the pandemic and I'm trying to stay active with health clubs being shut down. I called these guys to come and fix up my old bike. My bike had a flat and needed a tune up and a few brake adjustments. They showed up at my house with a mobile bike shop that was killer. The bike repair guy was very nice and totally took care of business. i was riding my bike later that day. The repairs cost a few bucks but the service was reasonably priced. From start to finish I had an amazing experience with Velofix. I was hesitant because you can see I have a 10 speed bike, and it's not as fancy as others. It does have an incredible amount of sentimental value. I was called upon arrival and was told the problem areas up front. He was honest about what needed to be done now and would could be looked at next summer- he redid my ragged hands bars and a full tune up. He explained to me when I came back for retrieval what was completed, and was very kind. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about bikes. As a "joy ride" biker I was thrilled to be treated seriously with the concerns I had about the lack of upkeep on my part and he was very understanding about the fact that it's a priceless item to me, and my bike was in great care. I opted for the Velofix assembly and fit service for my son's new bike. I received a confirmation email from Velofix that said I would be contacted when the bike was in transit from the manufacturer. I was not contacted when the bike was in transit. Manufacturer sent notice that it was received by Velofix 4 days after it was shipped. I was not contacted by Velofix when it was delivered. I emailed the national Velofix customer service the day after delivery notice to check on when I could schedule the delivery. I was told national office could not help and that the local office would reach out. Local office did not reach out within two days. I looked up the local contact info and sent a request to schedule. I was told via email by Jason that they built my son's bike the day after they received it and someone would schedule my delivery soon. Four days later I had not heard from anyone and emailed Jason directly. I was told he would contact me soon with some appointment options. Here we are two days later and still no call or email from Jason. I get that bikes shops are super busy in this pandemic and waiting is not the real issue here. The issue is that either the Velofix MN team doesn't know their business well enough to manage a schedule or is unwilling to provide an honest assessment of when they will deliver the service that I have already paid for. Really disappointed in the communication from Velofix MN, especially given the positive reviews by others. read more

Jeffrey from Velofix was awesome to work with. I got a phone call 30 minutes before my appointment and he showed up on time. He was able to answer any lingering questions we had prior to the tune-up. Best part was it was 1x1 time without the distraction/wait time of/due to other customers experienced at store locations. After he was done, my bike rode even better than when it was brand new. He was helpful throughout the entire process in recommendations, part replacements, maintenance tips, etc. I will definitely be using Velofix again in the future for all tune-ups. read more

I've worked in bike shops in the past, and have spent quite a few tender hours performing loving maintenance on my own bikes. When I found out that one of the mechanics from a shop I used to work at had begun operating a Velofix van, and parked it regularly (he lives just a block or two away from me) near my place, I thought I'd give it a shot for a tuneup. Now, this mechanic, Brandt, had already had a reputation with me for being one of the best wrenches in the Twin Cities metro area. I've never had him work on a bike and not just have it come back perfect, but meticulously checked over and clearly serviced with care. It's on another level. So, take that, and couple it with the convenience of having a fully-capable mobile bike shop come to right where you are, at a time you decide, price it at what's pretty much the industry standard, and you've got yourself kind of a revolution in bike maintenance and repair. They (Brandt) have gone above and beyond in every way, every time I've had an appointment. That being said, here's my disclaimer: I love Local Bike Shops. Please continue patronizing them. Velofix is certainly what we could call a "local bike shop" (though it's a national franchise) but it's just not the same thing. I hope they continue to get solid business because they certainly deserve it, but maybe when it comes to getting into the local cycling culture, buying crazy cool do-dads, chatting up shop-rats, and looking at rows and rows of stuff you'll never afford, you still can't beat the traditional LBS. read more

I had 2 older, electric bikes that hadn't been used in over 5 years, and another new bike on the way. I was able to coordinate with my bike's manufacturer to have velofix build my new bike, and repair my old ones. They came out at a time that worked with my schedule & did everything in nearly half the expected time. They charged alot less than their competitors. Will use again! read more

Wow! Great experience with Al Watts. He helped me in selecting power meters for both of my bikes, came to my home and installed them for me and made sure they're working with my Garmin.
