The main building, and plenty of long rv parking for when you pull in to register.

This is the first time I am giving a 5 star to a RV resort. Let alone in Salem Or. I came up here for the weekend because its my Moms Birthday and wanted to stay in our trailer and this place is close. I was not expecting to find this hidden gem. It's easy to get to off of the highway, but yet still remains hidden. I love how spaced apart the spots are, and how green the grass is. They have pull through spots for those of you who need it. In fact I think most of them are. Don't quote me on that though. Haha! I have not yet had a chance to take a dip in that beautiful looking pool but oh I will before the weekend is over!!! It's pretty here and very quiet. And yes I would come back!!! You should try this place out!!!!

Ask the Community - Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort

Does my trailer have to be a certain age and can we live there year round?

I wouldn't think so. I've seen many families live here. It is not a senior community. It is an RV Park. There are no manufactured homes, just travel trailers, 5th wheels and motor homes. I would call and inquire of space, it seems quite full all the… Read more

I was checked in quickly by Scott, given a rundown of how things operate such as breakfast, where the elevators are at, the onsite restaurant operating hours, and parking info. Upon entering my room, I found it to be clean and cool. The room also has a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. The hallways where the rooms are at are kept warmer at about 80 degrees. That is my one complaint. During my stay, it was hot outside and coming i to the hotel, it was cool, but going through the hallways to my room was hot. Breakfast is free and actually good! I couldn't wait for the breakfast because I liked it and I'm not usually a breakfast foods person. The hotel has an exercise room, pool, and hot tub open from 5:30am - 10pm. Many times I visited, the hot tub and pool were empty, leaving me to have a quiet, peaceful soak. I'm early to rise and Anjelica was also wonderful. I needed more coffee at 5am and she was at my service. She didn't come off as if I was bothering her. Offered me different types of coffee and asked me which condiments I needed. That's when I found out that there was also coffee and creamer in the lobby. Anjelica gave me a bag to carry all of my items upstairs. The hotel lobby store has items priced about average for a hotel, maybe slightly cheaper. One thing that caught my eye was the small bottles of distilled cpap water. The bottles were only $3. I've never seen that anywhere while traveling. Parking is free and easy to get to. The hotel is decorated beautifully. I throughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel restaurant is good and I left a review for them as well as the convention center. The value for the prices paid is really good! I will definitely stay here again, when I'm in Salem.

We drove two cars because of travel logistics and assumed we'd get charged to park at least one, if not both; nope, she said it was totally fine, here are two parking tags. Wow. While standing at the front desk talking to each other about how we should get to the Capitol, should I drive and pay for parking or is it walkable; she heard us and came over with a map, drew the path explaining it was totally walkable and it's supposed to be a beautiful day. Again, wow. Then, we shyly asked, if it's walkable can we leave the car parked in the structure even after checking out in the morning; she said, you bet, no problem. Wowow. Those experiences at checkin alone were distinctively different from so many similar hotels that we've visited that we walked to our room a bit bewildered. Later, we called the front desk to ask for more towels; it seemed like there was a knock at the door when we hung up the phone. We had to call again because we couldn't figure out how to turn switch the shower on (embarassing!) and, again, quickly a knock at the door by the same fellow (this time smiling bigger). Overall, a really great experience at a truly grand hotel. This will be our goto the next time we visit Salem.

After a booking error on our end, the hotel was able to get us a room for Thursday. We thought we had reserved a room for Thursday through Monday. So it was a huge relief to get that worked out. We did have to move rooms Friday, but that's not the hotel's fault. As an EVS worker for a large hospital, I tend to check everything. From high dust to floors and everything in between. I can tell that the employees take pride in their work. So kudos to the Housekeeping staff. Also, to the Housekeeper who found something we had left behind and returned in to us, you're awesome. I wish I had gotten your name. Thank you. Now to the front desk. Monica. Monica, you were always kind, eager to help, and an employee that every establishment desires to have. I know it had to be a crazy weekend due to the college graduations, but you rose to the top and did it with a smile. Thank you. Now the restaurant staff. You all are awesome too. After a couple of disappointing dinners at local restaurants, we decided to have dinner at the hotel. Delicious. The staff was friendly, professional, and our meals were great. Thank you. The views from the rooftop are gorgeous. Parking isn't bad. The rooms are clean. The property is clean. The staff are amazing. We selected this property because of its overall location which was not only convenient to family and friends but also extremely convenient for hopping on I-5. We checked in around 3 PM in order to get settled in our room before meeting family for dinner. As always, we appreciate the size and layout of the Home2Suites line of Hilton properties. We appreciate the kitchenette and apartment size refrigerator/freezer, along with ample counter space including two sinks, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, and a place to easily set up your laptop if needed. The entire flow of the room works really well for us. The studio suites are large enough to accommodate more than two people, but we've also enjoyed staying in the one bedroom suite which offers even more room and is similar to a small apartment. We learned they opened in February of 2021 and were busy from the start. We were told they initially housed many families that first year who were displaced from their homes because of Oregon wildfires in the area. In addition to being very convenient to I-5, it is also extremely convenient to Highway 22 which runs east and west through the area. As common in Home2Suites properties there is a nice size gym, laundry facility, a better than average hotel breakfast served daily, and this particular property has a indoor pool and hot tub, which makes it nice since it is open year round. There is also a patio area which offers outdoor seating and barbecue grills. Also, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. But a special shout out to Terrence, who was extremely helpful in assisting my wife with her early morning laundry routine. Our only negative experience was they do not appear to have enough luggage carts for the property. We struggled upon check in and check out to locate a luggage cart, which makes it much easier for us to transport our cooler, which is not on wheels, and of course, helpful with transporting additional luggage.

Liking what we saw, I went to the website and completed the request for a tour of their site. One week later, I am still awaiting a response to my request. Granted, I work M-F, so scheduling a tour on a weekday is an issue. However, this week I had Tuesday off so was hoping we could get in for a tour. Since we had not heard back from the website request, we decided to drive over and hope to get a tour. We arrived shortly after 1:30 pm to find the 'manager' in the office, who was rude! He said he could not offer a tour because he was in a meeting. I told him I had completed the request on the website but had not received a reply. He stated that he has not had time to check emails or the website. He did not provide a tour for later in the day. When I asked if we could schedule a Saturday tour, he responded that we are only open M-F. We noticed several tiny homes for sale when we drove through on the weekend. If you have this many homes for sale, why would you limit the ability to provide tours of your facility? It is not the best way to do business! When the owner decides to change management services, contact me! In the meantime, I would not recommend this facility as a potential retirement plan for anyone.
