Sharmin is an absolute ARTIST and is amazing at eyebrows. I came to her when my eyebrows were so jacked from going to so many different people. She totally revived me and made my eyebrows look INCREDIBLE and really knew how to make them work for my face shape, and to make them look 100% symmetrical. She is a perfectionist and has been doing this so long that she knows exactly how to make them look good long term according to my face shape and the direction my eyebrows grow in. I was super happy with the results - I shared a photo with Heena beforehand and she was able to recreate what I was looking for while adding her own flair in, including hiding my fiance's name in the design. I have come to this salon at least 5 times during my lunch breaks and it's always understaffed (one person threading, answering the phones, waxing, and anything else that needs to be done). Staff don't wipe down the chairs after each customer unless you ask them to and they don't wash their hands - they just use a bit of sanitizer. They also consistently have a very rude and entitled customer-base, which isn't their fault, but it makes for a very unpleasant time. However, only today did the dysfunction actually result in a poor service. I waited for over 20 minutes and was finally rushed into an unwiped chair. The staff member who did my threading today (there's a new person every time) pushed my head around aggressively for a few minutes while she hurriedly threaded, she actually cut my eyebrow , which proceeded to bleed - something that's never happened to me in 15 years of threading. Despite the poor environment, the quality of work and proximity to my office have brought me back the last few times, but it is unacceptable. I won't be back. read more

This place is a real gem. There is a reason Sharmin has a big following for eyebrow threading. Don't be surprised if you go and do have to wait. When I first went Sharmin worked on restructuring my eyebrows to both look even and now they are perfectly symmetrical thanks to her. While you may have to wait, threading itself is quick and sufficient and $8 per session. Get a card and after 7 sessions the 8th one is free. While I try to bring cash, if needed you can venmo for tips as well which can be helpful. Such a good spot. read more

I was looking for a face and eyebrow threading place and this place came as the highest rated so I decided to give this place a try. I decided to do a full face threading and for my first time it was extremely painful. The lady who did my threading was nice and friendly but I felt that she rushed my face in the end. She ended up cutting the bottoms of my eyebrows. My face was also super red and full of bumps, most likely cause of my sensitive skin. I had to ice it done to cool the skin. I'm leaving this review based on several things: my phone call with the business, the threading service itself, and most importantly the reaction of my threader. I called to see if they took appointments and had the strangest exchange. When I asked what availability they had past 6 the woman I spoke to just said "sure." I tried to confirm - are you trying to tell me I can just walk in, or do you actually take appointments? She told me if I came at 5 it would be an issue, but 6 or 6:15 would be fine. I said okay, thinking she would ask for my name or phone number. She didn't. She hung up. Okay, weird, but I figured I'd just go in when I planned since I didn't have a specific person I was asking for. This was my first time here, and I was trusting all the glowing reviews. When I walked in I suddenly understood the woman's response. The place looked empty, aside from one person getting their hair dyed and the woman who would do my brows. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded since 2007. I've met two kinds of threaders: skilled ones, and basic ones. Skilled threaders are practically artists, and they're rare. They have true attention to detail, thread with care, and understand the impact taking off just one or two hairs can make. The cherry on top is when they can remove hairs with a lighter touch, without putting unnecessary pressure behind their threading. Basic threaders are what you'll find at 99% of these hole-in-the-wall threading places that are everywhere. They understand how to strip your brow down to its most fundamental shape. If you ask them to do anything else, they will probably act like it's not possible. The worst ones also put a lot of pressure behind their threading. While it will probably take the same amount of time, the whole thing will be more painful. I thought that because I had been very clear about wanting my brows thick and long that maybe it wouldn't be an issue. I repeated myself, even. She assured me it would just be a cleanup. Mind you, my brows had been growing for months prior to this visit. She had plenty of hair to work with. She kept my brows long, but did not keep them thick. When she asked me if I liked it and I told her no, she repeatedly said the brow was "so nice." It wasn't until I said "you can repeat that as much as you want, but it won't change that I don't like it," that she stopped. She told me to come back in three weeks and that she would fix it. Why would I come back in three weeks? What is there to do but let it grow out? Should I come back so she can strip off the hair again? She told me that was just the shape of my brow. Talked to me as if it couldn't have come out any other way. Insisted she just cleaned it up, gave it a bit of an arch. Eventually I let her continue and do the other brow. When she continued she was noticeably gentler and more careful. Took off barely anything. When I told her the next brow was nice, she said that was because it's shape is just nicer. I walked away understanding I had met yet another basic threader. Most humans will tell me my brows look great, but family and friends will understand exactly what I mean when they look at my brows. It's not that I've been given early 2000s thin eyebrows, it's that my request wasn't honored or understood despite threading being a main service provided. My advice to this business is: be conservative when a client asks you to keep their brows long and thick. Don't make assumptions about how much of an arch they want. Check in with them as you go; don't wait until you're done to ask how they feel about it. And most importantly, don't act like you couldn't have possibly shaped the brow in any other way if they're unhappy. If you really think that's the truth when someone has given you grown out brows to work with...I'm not sure you should be a threader. read more

I had a really great experience here! I saw Bhavi and she was wonderful. I'm new to NYC and desperately needed my brows done...I was also hoping to get them laminated after getting hooked on the service this past winter. I found a Groupon for Heena's and the reviews were solid so I gave it a shot. I called in the early AM and had an appointment before noon, score! I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in and Bhavi was very friendly. She quickly threaded my brows into shape, which was no small feat since it had been months, and then laminated and tinted them. She was very personable and clearly knew what she was doing. The best part? My brows look just as good as when my former tech did them, and the space was very clean. I left a very happy customer, and will be back soon! She was sure to emphasize that they regularly offer lamination, shaping, and tint for $50. I just moved to the neighborhood recently and was on a hunt to find my new go-to brow place. This place is right across the street from me, perfect, so I walk over and when I get there I try to open the door and it seemed like it was locked. Meanwhile there's a woman sitting on the bench inside, on her phone, watching me struggle, and rolls her eyes and mouths "pull". I laugh it off and open the door and she doesn't even get up just says, "what do you want?" Another eye roll. At that point I say, nevermind and walk out. If her brow service was as bad as her attitude I would have walked out with some terrible-looking brows. Happy I'll never know.
