This place was outstanding! Super friendly staff (older women), great sandwiches and clean comfortable seatinfg inside or outrside and clean restrooms! Bread is made daily and super fresh. Club sandwich had great flavored meats with perfect combo of LTO. Meatball sandwich was also great with the meatballs cut in half so they don't fall all over the place. My wife and I had trouble choosing since the menu is vast. We both chose the Heidi club that had Turkey, ham, roast beef and bacon. Absolute show stopper!! The sandwich I had put a pep in my step! Randomly stopped in on the way to Telluride from Airport. Great decision, scratch that, best decision!!! Juliana's Fav was exceptional and wifie got spicy ham and cheese both on sourdough! My taste buds are still reeling from such a wonderful meal. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. This place is really good. I had the half a Reuben sandwich with corned beef with potato salad and both were legit. I'm a little torn about this review, so that's why I'm giving Heidi's an extra star. We had been coming to Heidi's on a regular basis because the food is pretty darn good. I usually get the Chefs Salad and my boys are fans of the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. It's a typical deli...decor is decent and seating is plentiful with both booths and tables/chairs. Here's the problem. It can get really busy at times and their order system just doesn't seem to cut it...it's slow and inefficient. When you're up for ordering don't expect a team approach. The person that takes your order is "IT" from beginning to end, and by "END" I mean they're likely to be your cashier as well because they never seem to have a dedicated person doing this...this is another cog in the wheel because they may be busy taking another persons order so you wait, and wait... Seriously, it's a no-brainer...food is really great and the staff is friendly...all they need to do is implement a team approach during the ordering process and have a dedicated cashier. Love Heidi's and always will...just hope you'll heed my advice. :) read more

I'm surprised by the low scores on Yelp, tbh I think is a solid place for a and holds it's own against other chain sandwich places. Of course the sandwiches aren't gourmet or artisanal, but it def hits the spot for a quick lunch. The bread was good and the portions were sizable. My husband and I split a "Da Bomb" sandwich on Italian bread. The sandwich was toasted well with crispy edges, melted cheese and decently tasty. And they aren't skimping on the stuff inside the sandwich, this is key. I do feel like maybe the chicken salad filling would have benefited from some extra salt or maybe spice. We also got the Greek salad, chock full of peppers, feta and olives. I loved that they made the salad with the items evenly dispersed throughout. Stopped by for lunch. Large sandwich menu. Wanted a salad. Choices were; chef, Caesar, Greek, Awesome, chicken salad. Chose the Greek. Iceberg, tomatoes, banana peppers, onions (which I asked them to hold), Greek olives & grated Parmesan. No dressing (you pick a to-go packet). Not worth the $8. Large portions, friendly service, and calm atmosphere. We all enjoyed it. I have since gone back and purchased their loaves of bread to take home. $2.99 for "yesterday's loaves," not a bad price for a giant homemade loaf of marbled rye and ciabatta. I went here with my husband and his parents while visiting the western slope. My in-laws like to go to this place often when they're in the Montrose area - they love all the choices on the menu. I, too, was excited when I saw the menu - my mouth started watering when I saw the soup of the day was broccoli cheddar and I could get it in a bread bowl - but I guess I was a little late for lunch (we got there around 1pm), and they were out of the soup I wanted. The other soups didn't jive with my vegetarian diet, so I went for a cold veggie sandwich. It was a great combo, including avocados, but I was still mourning the lost chance of that bread bowl soup. My MIL had a similar experience on this particular day - she was excited to see they offered gluten-free bread, but they were also out of this by the time we got there. So, they had two strikes...but I would still recommend this spot if you're in the area. They have a lot of sandwich, bread, and salad options, and also make coffee drinks. If I recall, they had a breakfast menu as well. Look for the giant pinecone outside! read more

The line wasn't super long, maybe 4 people ahead of us but the employees all seemed new and they moved at a glacial pace. I ordered a cheesesteak and it took so long to order and pay that it wasn't even warm when I got to the table to eat. The sandwiches aren't big for the price. No matter how busy they are they always have a smile and are extremely polite and friendly. My food is always perfect and the ingredients are top of the line. After 12-15 mins a woman asked if I had ordered on line and I said yes, and she said I should have told them. What?! What happened to greeting the customer and asking if you can help?! We ordered #13 the sand ice was terrific I like the spicy sauce. I ordered sourdough and the bread was delicious but more like a wheat bread. The reason I only gave 4 stars was the young teenager that waited on me around 3:00 in Sunday January 15 gave me the incorrect change I gave him a $20 and he ga e me the change for a $10 bill. Love this location of Heidi's Brooklyn Deli. Been to a few and this is the best. Everything used is FRESH. Service is great--quick, easy, accurate. I always got a chef or cobb salad and I LOVE when they give you an actual salad instead of mostly lettuce with a few chunks of meat, tomatoes, etc. There's several eatery options in the complex, and this is the healthiest--which made me frequent it more than any other place. Only thing is they close at 630pm and when I don't get done with my work visit until about 7 or after, its a bummer that they're closed. read more

We were very hungry by the time we stopped here, and we came here on purpose because...who doesn't love a good deli?! The choices look awesome. Three of us all tried something different. The kid said his BLT with avocado was good (I didn't look to see how much bacon was in it). Husband likes his club. I had the Ruben with corned beef. It was more like a sauerkraut sandwich with a touch of meat. Ant the corned beef wasn't trimmed up very well, it was 1/4 fat. Some probably would't mind the gristle...I'm not some. Bread was good. As we were eating, I overheard the older lady behind the counter tell a younger man to go wash his hands (loud enough to hear from the dining area). He was making sandwiches. Wanted a sammich and remembered seeing this place off S. Townsend. I stopped in and opted for the Coney Island Reuben on marble rye.. nom nom nom. The bread was fresh, sammich was on the large side, but not OMGWTF Big. $8 (with tax) gets you the sandwich, pickle and a side. Mean was moist, cheese melty, kraut not overpowering.. might be a bit on the blander side, but that may be a taste preference.. thousand island rounded it off. MUCH better than sandwiches from the underground railway chain. Service was good and quick. Main drawback to this place is trying to find the best way to meander through the parking lots to get to it. Someone was drunk when planning this place, I think. I'm done with this place 4 times in a row they couldn't make what I wanted from their menu. most of the kids working there look like they are very stressed. It's just a sandwich! on my last visit I stood there for ten hole minutes waiting for service as they were goofing around in the back. This was a sad visit today. What used to be one of my favorite fall lunch places is no more. This place has obviously changed hands recently. I ordered soup which no longer has bread bowls plus it was less than a scoop for a large. The chicken gumbo I ordered in no way resembled chicken gumbo. In fact had no chicken even in it or rice!! First of all, I love all the Heidi Deli's I've visited in the past in the Denver area, so I wasn't skeptical when I glanced at a few poor reviews. I don't like giving bad publicity, but now I agree... management needs to step up and train, educate or replace, if need-be. They were molasses slow, understaffed and incompetent. I was disappointed. Decent food, although one of our sandwiches was grossly incorrect, but after 30min wait, we were too hungry & time crunched to go back & complain. Thankfully, I don't live in the area, so I won't frequent this store. Realistically, I will most-likely pass it up next trip thru. Sorry Heidi. read more
