It was my husband and my first time trying to find a painting company to paint the exterior of our house since the front of the houses paint was starting to peel and the stucco paint didn't match when it was fixed at one point due to water damage. We found two companies to come out to give us a quote, which was Bright Painting & Heights Painting. Peter from Heights Painting came out first. He gave me a quote of $1200 for the front, partial side of the house, the peak above the front of the house, and $300 for the stucco on side of the house. Sunny from Bright Painting came out and the first thing she decides to do is peel off my paint on my house. I had attached a picture to show you how much she peeled off. I understand the paint is really bad, but we didn't give her any authorization to peel the paint off when she is only coming here to give us a quote and we don't know when we may end up doing the painting. Once she gave us a quote, it was $500 more compared to Heights Painting. Their price and unprofessionalism already made them lost our business and interest. We went with Peter since his price was very reasonable, professional, and had great reviews. He was able to do the project earlier than it was scheduled. The front of the house took 2 days to do and the side stucco was about 1 hour. The paint job came out really nice on the house. When the job was done, everything was clean and they were careful to tape off areas that weren't supposed to get painted. Peter was very friendly and had great communication. I am leaving the star rating square in the middle (if Peter was still here, it would be five stars, and maybe will be again) and the other prompts blank for now, only because I learned that Peter Plumeri has retired and/or moved out of state! He did fantastic work for us, and I have another painting job I need to have done. I believe his protege has stepped up to replace Peter. I will update this review after the new job is finished! For now, I will write what was so good about Peter and his team. First of all, Peter was open to listening to whatever we thought we wanted for our exterior work. He was also good about making suggestions and helping us be open to taking advantage of his knowledge, experience, and creative ideas. Lets put it this way, Pete's work ethic is ironically- refreshingly old school! He'll give you a pretty damn accurate estimate on paper based on his perception, he will be there every day with his workers, his eagle eyes will catch every flaw, and he expects 100% work quality. Ive heard him tell his guys that things have to be perfect multiple times and he has very high expectations for himself and the team. They are also extremely skilled in cutting around edges- don't assume all painters can do this... this is only done with years of practice. So no sloppy work shown in my home. I use Yelp for many different purposes. I usually go with companies that you can schedule quotes through the app. Heights had such good reviews and were a local business so I decided to call to schedule appt along with two other quotes scheduled through the app. While the other two were very good and could've easily gone with either of them, Peter showed up, looked at the house, and sat down at my patio table and drew up a quote. No frills or fancy software. He just knew exactly what the job would take, what kind of material he would use, and repairs that would be needed. I hired Peter and his team. I worked out the scheduling with his daughter-in-law (I believe). Very responsive, flexible, and easy to work with. I had circumstances that kept me working from home almost everyday of the project so I got to monitor progress regularly. Peter's team worked hard and began the process. I am a bit of a DIYer so I watched to see how the process works out of curiosity. As it went along I didn't know what step would be next and was left with many questions as the project progressed. Peter had suggestions and recommendations for some little things we were on the fence about, which helped settle some debate in the house. Every day there was a lot of progress and the paint team were responsive to my questions and concerns (Most of which were just premature). The house came out great. I even built some shutters that the team helped my hang on the second level. The job went about a half day longer than expected, but it was all finished to my expectations and hopes. If I were to get real nit-picky with the job, I would say that the pressure washing of the house left my windows filthy with water spots, and I wouldn't have preferred my gas and water pipes get painted. Otherwise, great price, service, attention to detail, and professionalism. read more

I had the most weather-beaten front doors that was in desperate need of refinishing. We had neglected them for years not knowing who to turn to. Where to begin. This company is absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Family owned and have been around forever, but have the professionalism that you would expect from a massive company. Made contact to have the interior of my home painted and Peter showed that week to give us a quote (they would have came the next day after I contacted them, but I could not meet). Peter walked around my home, listened to everything I wanted while asking clarifying questions, and then wrote the quote. I was absolutely shocked. The price was $1,000 less than the 3 other companies I had come provide me a quote and said it would take 3 days to complete. I quickly scheduled for them to come out and Peter provided me some feedback regarding color as I was having a difficult time nailing it down. That was very appreciative. Few days prior to paint day, Peter reached out to finalize the colors and took care of everything else. Paint day arrived and his crew was to show at 8am and they were all in front of my home 30-45 minutes prior to start time. In an era where everybody is running late and can't stick to their schedule, that was the most impressive thing to me because that was the case each day. His crew had all their material laid out ready to go and the roller hit the wall at 8am as promised. About his crew: professional, friendly, and a well oiled machine. I have experienced paintings crews before and in some cases you can tell they had hired whoever wanted to work that day. Not these guys. As I sat and listened to them work they were in constant communication about what they were doing, what needed to be done, and everything in between. Peter was here every work day and was not your typical boss as he was in there with his crew (3 guys first day, 4 guys the other) doing what would be consider the "new guys" work (painting around plugs, corners, baseboard, sinks, etc). This crew was amazing because there was plenty of opportunity for them to cut corners, but they were meticulous (for example: I have this odd spot in the bathroom where the frames meet, but there is space between for the wall to be painted. They could have skipped it and I would have never known, but one of the guys built a little brush to fit between and painted it). This summarizes the whole experience: they worked fast, meticulous, and efficient. The bonus of all this: it only took them a day and a half when they originally said three. I was shocked and in disbelief, but as one of the guys walked around the house with me to check their work after the first day I was beyond happy with it. After they were done on the last day, one of the crew members went around with me again to check everything, another followed behind with multiple paint buckets in hand to fix any areas, and the other members (with Peter) cleaned up any mess that may have been made (As a side note: I told them they did not have to be careful as I was replacing the carpet the next day. Nope, they were very careful. I could have kept the carpet and you would have never known that I had the house painted. Also, the guy following behind with the buckets had been following around other members of the crew throughout the day fixing their mistakes so any I had seen were already fixed). After everything was cleaned up, the crew left and Peter stayed behind and made his own personal fixes before he left to make sure everything was of the best quality. He even left us the leftover paint (which isn't out of the ordinary), but left us enough that I could paint the 2 rooms that I did not want painted to keep everything consistent. I am beyond pleased with this company and have already recommended them to some friends and family. I have plans to do more big painting jobs and plan on going right back to them. The level, quality, and type of work they did would be triple the cost with other companies. I cannot preach their greatness enough. Don't go anywhere else. Hire these guys. read more

Peter and his crew did a good job painting my roof and house exterior but there was a LOT of overspray. The plants were not covered as promised so there was paint spray on plants by the house and even on plants away from the house. They cleaned up their equipment on our lawn and dumped the clean-up water everywhere. There was damage to our two sheds (just 2x2s and thin aluminum) from being walked on. Heights Painting did a good job on our house exterior but they need to be watched carefully in the front and back at all times. read more
