Poor Customer service. If they can price gouge you they will, and they are extremely unorganized. Find somewhere else to go!

I told him I'd rather have a new one put on because they weren't that expensive. Holidays came and last Saturday, January 4th, 2025, I get another call asking the same thing but this time he sent me a video of what was needed from my old parts. Longer story short, I agreed to drop off the parts I had on Thursday, January 9, 2025, before my doctor appointment up the road from them. Upon arriving he acted really jittery, nervous and came across belligerent. He started saying he has been trying to get my parts from me, and he has spent two hours working on something he won't get paid for. He went on to say I was stupid, dumb, and that I could take my snowblower with me because he wasn't going to work on it. He brought the blower out, running his mouth, cursing at me and again, calling me names. I tried to get my phone out of the car to record him acting the way he was but was slow retrieving and activating the video. I do have some of it as he was flipping me off and etc... I just wish I could have gotten the whole thing. He slammed the blower in my SUV and ripped the loose hands off so it would fit. I am now questioning if this blower is even mine. It does not look like the same one. He was VERY RUDE! After having him cursing at me and calling me names, I did speak up... I asked him who in the hell was he think he was talking to and to not speak to me in such a way. He said he talks to is customers the way they need to be talked to. I seriously cannot believe how he behaved as a business owner. Very unprofessional. People should never be verbally attacked by anyone. It has had me upset ALL DAY. I do have videos of his behavior. They kept the mower for several weeks, then called to tell us all of the repairs would cost over $1200. We were told the carburetor had to be replaced because linkage was not available and that the engine needed disassembled to replace the seals. We reluctantly agreed to have the service performed. Weeks later we get a call from them stating that the mower had no compression and the engine needed replaced. Mind you, their parts man drove it into their repair shop while I was there to drop it off. I told them nevermind, I would came and get it. I brought it home and checked the compression. It showed 90 lbs. on my gauge. I found that it had no spark so I replaced both coils. I put a clip on the carburetor from a Dorman replacement kit. We used the mower the remaining mowing season. We were charged over $500 by Boone's for basically an incompetent diagnosis. They put much more effort in trying to get us to buy a new mower than in attempting to repair ours. We are still using the mower after getting the oil leaks repaired by a very competent service tech at half the cost, including a new carburetor. The fuel shutoff solenoid quit working recently and that required a new carb. We have been very loyal customers to Boone's for over 20 years. That loyalty has come to an end.

His saw was only a few months old (600-700 dollar saw) and had a no spark, no start issue. Since he's been a mechanic for years and works on chain saws as well seen it was not getting spark and took it to Boones for warranty for the coil or whatever it needed. When he got there a technician checked for spark and got none. My father left it there thinking it was under warranty and when he went pick it up 2 weeks later they wanted to charge him 48.00. I went with him to talk to a customer service person and the technician, and the technician confirmed he got no spark when he checked it initially but said at that time his spark tester was faulty. I stated, "so you made a mistake," he said yes, but the customer service rep still made my father pay for the service. He stated the fuel was bad after he smelled it...the fuel in the same container was used by me on my father's second chainsaw, his Husqvarna the day he took it in and had no fuel issues. Especially since it was the expensive premixed fuel he had just purchased at another power tool store in Germantown. I told my father to go ahead and pay it, He said he won't go back there again on matter of principle. I bought 2 chainsaws and blower there, and other chains, seals and such. I will not go back either and believe they were dishonest and an older customer shouldn't be put through the drama. Interestingly right after my father bought his Husqvarna chainsaw the coil did go out, over year ago, he took it to Ness's where he bought it and they fixed it for free, and the coil was bad. I am not an advocate for Ness's near Germantown, but my father now is...they treat customers right at least. Boones states they have over 53 years' experience, I just wonder if that means those dealing with customers, none of them looked over 30, I could be wrong.

I rarely ever leave reviews; great, good, or bad...but this has to be said! I encourage anyone who shops at this store regularly or who wants to learn a little bit more about the company culture to read the pictures below, in order. And to be Frank, this actually involves two stores, and the online ordering system, making this a systemic issue with all of Rural King as a franchise. The culture promoted and tolerated within this franchise is disgusting and the lack of professionalism and business knowledge is wholly subpar. I genuinely have no idea how they are as successful and as big of a frandchise name as they are. If I felt this was a one-off, bad luck, special circumstance issue, I would not have made this lengthy review, but the entire experience screams of this being the cultural "norm", being accepted by employees (all the way up to management), and being a systemic problem within the entire franchise that needs immediate attention and swift correction. Thank you to everyone who reads the pictures of the full review below and I sincerely hope that this brings about some change within the company.

I called on Thursday 5/28/2926 and was given an excuse as to why he didn't call me when he said he would. I was still willing to move forward with the service and was given a window for pick up for Friday 5/29/2026. I tried to narrow the window by 1 hour and was told that he could not accommodate that and he would have to call me the following week once he made the route schedule. Since he didn't call me the first or second time he said he would I lost confidence he would do what he said he would do the third time. If he would have told me originally it would be two weeks before he could schedule the pick up I would have accepted that. I feel like their service is not important to their business and would not recommend them for service.
