I have been a customer of Heilman over a dozen times and have had a 5 start experience each and every time. I have never felt taken advantage of which is huge to me. Any time that there were repairs of substance needed, I was told which ones I could put off for a while or which ones were more urgent. And more importantly there were a large number of visits where I went for an oil change and that's what I got. I didn't get the treatment other places have offered where I go in for a simple oil change and end up hearing the car is falling apart and needs thousands in work. They are a quality service center with phenomenal customer service. Love these guys! read more

I've been having a slow leak in my tire for a while now but with my busy schedule, it's hard to sit and wait. So I made an appointment at Pep Boys on my vacation when I went they told me it would be an hour and a half from the time of my appointment before they could even take me back. so I drove over to my local gas station and they were amazing. They had me in and out in 10 minutes with a smile on her face and wonderful service. I now have my new service station! My new shop! Everything you want is here. Super friendly, honest and knowledgeable. My old shop was closed and I needed inspection. They'll never try to upsell you with bogus repairs. Seems to me they are plenty busy enough to need to rip anyone off. If your car could use some new plugs or a belt or anything they will kindly inform you and if you say "not now" then that's it. And they were happy to come pick me up after my car was finished and bring me to the shop to pay and drive it away. Thank you Oswald and Tom! read more

Couldn't be any friendlier when I call for an appointment, always able to help and make time for my car. I feel gross when places over charge you because they know you aren't knowledgeable about something and can take advantage of you (especially as a lady). Not the case here. Charges are always explained and will always check with you if something else needs to be done and go over the price. read more

Great customer service! I visited Heilman's for the first time last week for a noise while I was braking. Joe took me in right away, even though their parking lot was clearly full. They diagnosed and found the problem as a simple brake hardware issue, and even showed me what the problem was. They fixed it within an hour and didn't try to upsell me anything. Joe and his staff have earned a new customer for being so trustworthy and honest. I highly recommend this repair facility to anyone looking to have routine maintenance or any other major repairs. I used to take my cars there for inspection until last year. They said I needed new brakes, but let me take the car back and do the repair myself. They didn't tighten the wheel lug nuts after inspecting the brakes again and as a result, two of the threaded studs broke off and I ended up having to replace the entire wheel hub assembly. No apology and they were going to charge me a lot of money for the repair, so I did it myself. That'll teach me to trust them! read more

An update. I went back a week later after seeing THREE OTHER mechanics who all said the car was in very good condition. The manager "joe" ,supposedly named, checked the car and decided to fail me again on a perfectly fine ball joint. I told him that this made no sense and told him I would be contacting the corporate offices. Now I had contacted them the week prior to let them know what had happened( still haven't heard from them btw) and this was the response I got verbatum. " Yeah I saw your little piss ant letter and I don't fucking care." So basically he failed me again to try and get back at me for reporting him. If that's not enough of a reason to avoid this place then I don't know what to tell you. read more

It took months in coming to terms with writing an unfavorable review about a neighborhood service station but I needed to share this. After taking my 2007 Ford Edge in for a power steering leak in September 2016, I had a hose, rack and power steering pump replaced using aftermarket parts. The power steering continued to leak and the rack was repaired/replaced 5 times.(I have the paper trail). The pump was replaced a second time with a Ford pump, however, the station would not replace the aftermarket rack. I even had the steering belt break due to the leak and had to have the vehicle towed. Joe the manager was a nice guy and always offered to replace....with the aftermarket rack. I asked several times to speak with the owner but never heard from him. Even Chris their mechanic was frustrated over this issue. After another issue with the 5th rack leaking in June 2018, Tom the weekend manager told me the manufacturer would not honor another rack. I told Tom the racks were leaking on average every 3 to 4 months. I spoke with Joe and he offered to put one more aftermarket in the car. Again, I asked to speak with the owner but no response. I decided not to deal with Heilman's anymore and eventually leased a new vehicle. I was referred to this place from a friend and gave them good business well before this issue. The owner could have saved time, aggravation and money all around by rectifying the issue with a dealer replacement part after the repetitive issues. read more

If you value your life, and that of your friends and family, do NOT take your car to this shop. Not only do they do terrible work, they don't take responsibility for their actions. I purchased a used Subaru from this shop about a year and a half ago under the impression that the clutch assembly had been replaced. After driving it around for about a week I noticed a "chirp" from the throwout bearing in the car. I took it to them to see if there was anything they could do to help and Dan, the gentleman who sold me the car, informed me that even though he had done work on the car and guarantees his work, he wouldn't help me. I had a friend with a lift so we took the car there to check things out. After inspection of the car, I saw that the parts were NOT new but actually used, and worn at that. I fixed the car at my own expense. It was a used car so I took that with a grain of salt. Against my better judgment I took the car back to get inspected by the same shop. It is right around the corner from my old apartment and I like a restaurant down the street so I decided just to take it there, after all, inspection is just routine maintenance, right? Wrong. The back left tire was worn and needed replacement so they put the tire on. After about a month I was driving to upstate New York with some friends when the back left tire started vibrating heavlily. 3 lug nuts snapped off and I swerved into oncoming traffic with 3 other people in the car. Luckily i was able to regain control of the car, but obviously it needed to be towed, fixed, and I needed a rental car. After speaking with several mechanics the ONLY cause for this to happen is loose lug nuts. I took the car back to Heilmans Auto Shop and they told me it wasn't their fault. Strange that the last person to put the lug nuts on wasn't the person at fault. If you value your life, and that of your friends and family, do NOT take your car to this shop.
