Was a bit surprised that my glass of Corot Noir was chilled but it brought the tastes out! My next glass was the Pinot Noir which was much more enjoyable!! Very friendly staff. Expansive gift shop. Very touristy.

We had a nice time at Heineman Winery! The wine itself was okay- nothing mind-blowing- but enjoyable, especially at the incredibly affordable price of $3.75 per glass. Most of their wines are on the sweeter side, which may not be for everyone, but I appreciated trying something different. I also really enjoyed the Catawba juice- I'd never seen it before and, as a fan of Catawba wine, it was a fun surprise. The $12 tour was definitely worth it. You start by heading down into their cave, which is inside a geode--super small but very cool. Just a heads-up: there are quite a few steep stairs to get down there. Afterward, they take you upstairs and walk you through the wine-making process. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and informative. The tour also comes with a token for a glass of wine or juice, which was a nice touch. A couple of downsides: all wine is served in disposable cups, which was disappointing, especially for an island destination. It takes away from the overall wine tasting experience and feels a bit careless environmentally. The staff was mostly friendly, and there's a ton of outdoor seating in the back, which makes it a nice spot to relax post-tour. All in all, a fun stop with a unique charm, some great educational value, and unbeatable prices. Just don't expect high-end wine or a fancy tasting room vibe.

The wine was delicious. We enjoyed sitting in the sun in the outdoor wine area. Enjoyed hearing the family's story of how the winery survived prohibition. Didn't go to the caves but will next time!

This place had such great wine! Two of the workers were very quick to help us and give recommendations, but one of them seemed to want nothing to do with us as far as customer service goes. All of the wine was great though, we tried 3 of the sweet wines, two of the dry, and one of the medium. The sweet wines were the best in my opinion! The place itself was gorgeous, especially the garden!

I have to admit I was disappointed in this winery. The facilities are dated and the decor was not very modern. It doesn't have a typical winery feel. Things were some simple and primitive that we didn't stay long to enjoy the wine. Apparently the state of Ohio says that Heineman needs to charge $3.50 for a sample. Unfortunately you don't know which wine to pick since you have no idea how the wine tastes. Therefore you just guess and hope the wine is digestible. On this occasion we picked the Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc to try. I have to admit that these wines were not very tasty or appealing to my palette. The wines tasted very plain and a "waxy" after taste.

Super cool experience especially for the price. Went to Put In Bay for the first time over this past week and was not disappointed. This crystal cave is a must see and is breathtaking in person. The tour guide was super fun and was very knowledgeable about the history of the cave. If you're in the area I recommend checking it out - you might even get "cave kiss"! Also the winery is very neat and you get a grape juice or wine sample included in the crystal cave tour price.

The customer service was great! And I bought a Put-in-bay winery shirt for only $5! Love this! The ambiance was nice, and I felt welcomed there overall.

We loved the longevity and history of this family-owned winery. The Crystal Cave is cute, but it's really small. Don't expect a grand tour - but worth checking out. The wine is sweet. The grounds could use some updating, but the people were nice.

Wonderful experience at the winery and caves. The price per person was $12, which included a cave tour, a wine tour, and a glass of wine or grape juice. The staff was friendly and courteous.

For $11 this is quite a stop! The crystal cave tour is interesting & really informative. It is definitely something we had not experienced before. The winery tour was more thorough than expected ... it's a working winery so we say the process in action - very cool! All grapes come from within 10 miles of Lake Erie! It was very enjoyable and frankly a great deal for the experience.

The whole location was super whimsy and adorable! As for the food, it was amazing!!! We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer, which was gone in minutes. The poke bowl was my friend's, and she said she enjoyed it and said it was similar to decomposed sushi. I got the lemon ricotta ravioli and it was DIVINE. Generally, I'm not a big cheese person, but I loved this. I ordered it without the ricotta topping, but it was still delicious! Very rich and comforting. All in all, delicious and definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for a charming but fancy dining experience.

There were 8 of us. And 1 was a 2 yr old. The good. They have a good amount of choices to drink. Their wine, guest wine, and a full bar. So lots of choices. We tried the summer blush. It has strawberries and peaches. It was good. I enjoyed it. We bought a bottle for $25. Orders lunch. I got the Korean cauliflower appetizer. It was pretty small. Giant piece of leaf lettuce in it. And the ranch dressing was also inside of it. Not a ton of the cauliflower. Kinda disappointing to be honest. I ate it. I liked it. But not sure how it is supposed to be shared by a table with not a lot of food. Disappointing. My partner got the portobello sandwich. She said it was very sloppy and just OK. So food is kinda pricey and not really worth it. This is a nice winery. Plenty of choices to drink. Lots of space inside and outside to sit and drink and hang out. Wine is OK. Food in my opinion is pricey and not as good as it should be for the price. Staff was nice. Plenty of parking. This almost feels too touristy and just a money grab. Just my opinion. Probably skip next time I'm in the area. Try something else.

Wine - best local wine in the region. Keep in mind the wines are mostly on the dry side. Jamie also hand selects imports from around the world. They also sell beer and other drinks. The bruschetta was a great mix of texture and flair. Sweet tomatoes, perfectly grilled baguette, salty olives, and savory blue cheese. Amazing. The salmon was very good. It had brussel sprouts cooked in an Apple compote. Very nice contrast of sweet and savory. Fish was perfectly cooked. Only negative was the potatoes were slightly over cooked. Pro Tip - ask for Julie. The best server.
