We had the most incredible first experience at Heirloom! We were celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday, and the team truly went above and beyond to make her day unforgettable. When we arrived, they had balloons, a 21st birthday tiara and sash, and even a beautiful gluten-free cake waiting for her. It was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Stopped in just to eat and wow are we glad we did! Not too far off the interstate, easy parking just across the street, beautiful inviting building. Sat at the bar, good and friendly service. Everything that we ate was so delicious! Everything else looked so delicious! Corn & crab chowder ordered by Husband was loaded with crab, we couldn't stop marveling at it and I kept stealing spoonfuls. BLT wedge (minus the bacon) plus grilled shrimp was so good and filling. The blackened redfish was generous and yummy. Did I mention the side of Brussels sprouts (again without bacon but yum yum!) Back on the road in no time, feeling great. Spent a few night the Hotel Monroe during the sleet ice storm this weekend. This restaurant is the boom! Super outstanding delicious flavorful dishes! After I checked in I had breakfast here. So nice to have a warm meal while I saw the sleet outside. The staff were so accommodating! Shout out to Brook! And Mr. And Mrs Echols for being amazing owners and helping out their staff when they were short staffed. Christie was super welcoming and made me a delicious espresso. For dinner I indulged with their must try ribeye. It's very understandable they had a limited menu due to the weather and staff if they had their full menu I would have had a difficult time to decide what to have! The wine was fantastic and just the whole atmosphere warms the soul. And don't judge me I ate all 12oz of the wonderfully cooked ribeye. And the greens and mashed potatoes paired perfectly! The prefect thing to have after walking in the sleet. The whole aesthetic of the hotel and bar and restaurant blend so well. Love this boutique hotel and their restaurant. Prefect for a date night. For my second dinner. I had the blackened redfish with their rice stone grits , yes another indulgence! OMG! Another knock out of the park! Compliments to the chef! And of course the whole bar and front desk and restaurant team! Such an amazing experience! Even through this was an unplanned stopped due to weather. I'm so glad this place welcomed me with welcome arms and had such filling delicious food. Really like a beacon and an unexpected delightful stop. You turned a terrible circumstance to a culinary delight! I paired this delicious redfish with their salad. Chefs kiss! I wish they had the grits sold in their little store. Ok, we REALLY wanted to like this place! We stayed at the hotel, which is AWESOME (at least our deluxe king room was- I read other reviews saying the rooms were small. Ours was great. We went down to eat around 8pm. Waited for a bit, but not too long. It was loud, but just because the other diners talked loudly. It has a sports bar vibe with luxury dining prices. The waitress was super sweet. We skipped cocktails, and ordered the fried green tomatoes: STELLAR, highly recommend! Two Caesar salads- they were forgotten, and our entrees came out WAY too fast, so we felt like we had to rush the appetizer so our food didn't get cold. Hubby ordered the catfish atchafalaya. He was very hungry and super disappointed that we were not getting the salads we ordered, so he dug in. It was so salty (and he loves salt) he couldn't tell the difference between the rice and the catfish. Catfish was crisp and perfectly cooked- but tasted like nothing but burnt salt. Had the waitress checked on us within the next ten or 15 minutes, he would have sent it back. But she didn't reappear for a very long time, so he kept nibbling until his tongue was pickled and the food was gone. She showed up when the plate was empty. I got the Mac's and cheese seafood gnocchi. I couldn't eat half of it because it was so salty. The three shrimp on top were delicious, though. We told the waitress it was inedible. She took 50% off the bill. So we were "only" out $60 With prices like this, the wait staff and food should be much much better. She was really sweet, just not as present as one would hope. Overall, the food was good and we had a good time. They were out of quite a few things on the menu which was a little disappointing, and we went on a Thursday. Everyone was really polite, drinks took a little bit longer than we would have liked but we did have a good bit of people. Would 100% go again, but with less people. Would be perfect for a dinner date for two people! Catfish Etouffee was so awesome!! Would highly recommend! read more

We stayed at Hotel Monroe for a wedding so we were able to enjoy Heirloom for a few days. The breakfast was so good. I enjoyed it to the very last bite! I did not try out anything on their dinner menu, but I may have ordered bread pudding two nights in a row. The hostess was so sweet & very helpful! I am gluten intolerant & so it was very nice to be able to enjoy some things that I usually can't have on a regular basis. I love how chill the restaurant is- it's not super loud in my opinion. The first night they even had a musician & it was a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant catered the wedding so that was an experience too! Eating rolls & meatballs that are gluten free at a wedding?!!! Whhhat? So good! Y'all deserve a pat on the back! read more

What we ordered had great flavor and was cooked well. Unfortunately we had the send back a drink because it was made with salt rather than sugar for the rimmed glass. It was a lemon drop martinis and the bartender said she never heard of anyone using sugar. ‍ I've never had one with salt, but I can tell you that is the wrong choice. The restaurant was going through a management change so trying to find something on the menu that they had in stock was a bit tricky. The ambiance is relaxing, very mid century/ maybe a touch of deco? We would definitely give it another try for we go back through there. read more

The food was delicious. Our waitress was quick and friendly. I had the stuffed peppers. We shared the fried green tomatoes and alligator bites. It. Was all fresh and tasty. The piano music could have been a tad less on volume, but was nice to listen to. The food was excellent. I want too hungry so just ordered the hamburger, intending to eat about half but it was so good I finished it all. My partner had the redfish and gave it 2 thumbs up. Overall experience was decent , had drinks at the bar with a friend, old fashion was well made, then had dinner in the restaurant. Service was ok. Ordered the ribeye. They dropped the steak off but didn't leave a steak knife to cut it with. I ordered it Medium rare came out more medium to med well. The steak was a thin cut which makes it more difficult to get a med rare. Piece of meat was not the best cut. On top of Brussels and potato's. Flavor of the steak was average at best. BRussel's were soggy. Had a glass of wine when we sat down for dinner. Halfway through the meal my glass was empty, but wasn't checked on until the steak was finished. For the price I would have expected much better cuts of meat and service. read more

I was impressed when I opened the doors to see an intimate bar near the hotel check-in desk with decor that is modern luxe with some mid-century touches. The restaurant is EXCLUSIVELY gluten free which is another high-demand, unique perk about this place. They offer a long, varied wine list, craft cocktails, and desserts (all GF!). I was quite impressed with my experience. Don't sleep on the New York Cheesecake. read more
