This rating is due to the lack of maps and navigation assistance for this park. There are multiple entry points, but did not see any park maps to help attendees navigate. As a result, my party and I got separated on the opposite sides of the park, and took them almost two hours to get to where we were. There were buses within the park that didn't have proper signage, nor proper operations. People were cutting lines, jumping on the bus and no one was managing the flow of the crowd. When they finally got on the bus, it took 30 minutes. Again no signage or maps showing any of this. I can't say I would come again. However, the staff was pleasant, and that goes a long way. read more

This was my second time tubing ever. My first time was at Shoot the Hooch in Vinings. I was excited to try a different type of experience since the Vinings one has a much wider & deeper river. Before coming here, I had friends inform me that it's easier to fall due to the crowds and the rocky, shallower river. They weren't wrong because that's exactly what happened to me. Unfortunately I did not tie myself to someone, and they do limit the tying to two tubes. I definitely agree with that recommendation, as when you tie more than two it causes traffic jams more easily. Like many of the other reviewers, it's hard to have a fully empty ride through the river. We were lucky to go on a Sunday and not on a holiday. The facilities on site are nice, including bathrooms and roomy storage lockers. We were able to fit multiple people's things in one. I also appreciated that the tubes all had bottoms and we didn't have to spend extra for tubes with bottoms (which is the case for Shoot the Hooch). When you're not stuck in the rocks or caught between the rapids, it's pretty relaxing and thrilling. If you want a more thrilling experience, I'd suggest finding a white water rafting experience instead. read more

My friend and I came here after going to Cool River Tubing that is up the street. Wow was it disappointing. The water was extremely low and right off the rip there was a huge salmon looking fish dead in the water right below us as we floated by. If you keep going, you end up floating underneath a tree growing out over the river that's covered in gum. There were also a ton of vapes thrown into the grass on the sides of the river. Both of our floats also had tears in the bottoms. I'll always recommend getting the stick, but the charge you $5 for a unsealed broomstick that will give you splinters. You do get to keep it at the end, so whatever. read more

This is a hard one. I have enjoyed Helen tubing in the past, multiple times. It used to be $5. "In the good ol days" (8 years ago) August 2024 visit was super frustrating. The water was low, which is absolutely no fault to the company whatsoever. But this means banging into rocks with your spine and getting out and walking your tube every 2.3 minutes. The controllable parts I would say are the $14 tubing fee (which on its own is pretty reasonable) but then you have a shady guy in the grass and dirt parking lot with his husky lunchbox charging $20 just to park your car - and then you have the tubing company charging you $5 for a broomstick to push yourself off of the rocks because they know it hasn't rained and they know you aren't gonna float. They know you're gonna spend the day stuck on rocks and walking, but they don't talk about that or give updates on social media about that. ** the crowd. Overcrowd** They allow so many people, unlimited amounts of people, so many people that you can't enjoy the float or hardly even see into the water because there's tubes and people everywhere. Obnoxious and trashy people who think you should stink up everyone's day by smoking on the river. Two ways to address this is going to be, presale/pre-purchase a set amount of tickets per day -- & checking people's bags. Ticket office guy was nice enough. Bus driver was cool and conversational. So much fun!!!! Just make sure to go early (before lunch) or you will be standing in a huge line and waiting for a bus. Luckily we did go early (around 10). It was warm enough. The water this time of year is slightly cold but you get use to it.... More refreshing than anything. We took our kid and she loved it! Not too scary but just thrilling enough! 1 star because zero stars was not an option and I guess they deserve one star for being friendly. First of all, this is not a river, this is a creek that doesn't have enough water in it to boil a pot of spaghetti. Secondly, they try to sell you a broom stick for $5, but they don't explain what it's for. Let me tell you what it's for, it's for wedging between the rocks to try to push your tube down the river, all the while it's literally dragging the rock bed because there's not even enough water to make a leaf float. I found a mop handle halfway down, picked it up and lost it again, but I'll tell ya, they better be glad because I was gonna beat the snot out of the person who took my money to drag my ass down that creek. Now, I know what you're thinking, your butt was probably too big to be on a float in the first place. Spoiler alert, we were with 35 kids and all of them were dragging ass too. It was so bad, at one point we literally had to pick up the tubes and walk. If I could have, I would have ditched that tube on the creek bank and got an Uber back. It took 5 hours to do this float so I'm not sure why the other reviews are upset that they only got one trip down, they must have more daylight hours in their day. Yesterday our family decided to visit Helen, GA. It was Thursday and the town was not crowded. Having two young kids (7 and 9) we decided to have some water fun. Here were the options: Helen Water Park or Helen River Tubing. The water park looked empty and a bit boring so we opted for the river tubing - and we are all happy we did! Pros: - very friendly staff - tubes have various sizes and some back rests - no age restrictions for tubing - longer ride as opposed to their competition Tips: - water shoes and water proof cell phone case to capture memories are a must - we connected two tubes and got one stick per couple (we found that to be a great combo) - eat/drink beforehand so and put sunblock on, the rides takes about 2 hours - you are allowed to bring a waterproof (plastic) baggie with drinks (no glass) and we packed some light snacks eg. Power bars for 'just in case' Overall a great family activity as well as couples date idea! read more

Do not buy anything from their gift shop. The so-called waterproof key storage and phone storage leaks and they do not give returns. Buy it on Amazon before you go and save yourself a bunch of money. Go to cool River tubing instead. A much better outfit. read more

I recommend to either go first thing when they open up or be the last group out, if you in Helen during the busy time of the year. At some points there were so many tubes in the water that you could not see the water. It is worth the $5 to buy the wooden sticks or bring one to use to push off the rocks, especially if you are there when the water is low. You park at the pay station and they bus you up the river and you end up back at the pay station where your car is. Our bus driver was not having a great day. She was hollering at people in the cross walks through town, hollering at the cars in front of us and talking about us under her breath. read more

Tubing is one of the reasons we come to Helen. I love how they have dedicated parking at both the beginning and end of the trip now. I would say they broomsticks they sell now for pushoff sticks are awful. Everyone who bought them ended up with a broken stick at the end. Luckily we had some of the "old" sticks from years ago that looked more like square sticks and were much sturdier. Also the decision to not offer an all day tubing option is really disappointing. We would have paid a higher price to tube more than once in a day. $15 per person per trip is ridiculous. read more

My family and I visited this place today after tubing with Cool River Tubing. I was NOT impressed! First of all, the pricing was all over the place with 3 different prices listed. We got there a little before 4:00 knowing they closed at 6pm. At 5:15 they started shutting stuff down- which I wasn't surprised with them collecting trash, straightening chairs, etc at that time. Earlier I had heard a lifeguard say they were going to close it down early and get out so they could get to their plans. Well, they shut the slides down at 5:40! 20 minutes still left to play and they weren't letting people on. But some friends of the lifeguard on duty at the slides showed up, dove head first into the water slide pool and all 3 went down the slide on the same tube. There are still customers here and they are obviously being allowed to play and break posted rules! We were basically pushed out before 6. It smelled, wasn't the cleanest and way overpriced for what was there. My kids had fun, but it was not worth it!! read more

I will absolutely never recommend, take family and friends, or use this facility ever again. The owner is a complete and utter jackass. My husband and I were trying to help a young lady with special needs try and locate her prescription glasses, her iPhone , and her friend's iPhone. She had come and rented tubes the weekend before the 4th of July. Before parking on the property, my husband and myself explained to two of the employees there why we were there and asked permission to be there. One very nice lady gave me permission with instructions to be sure and leave the park if we saw people leaving, because lightning was in the area. I assured her that we would to prevent being locked in the park. I thanked her and we went started looking for Camille's things. After a few minutes, the owner pulled up behind our truck, honked his horn, rolled his window down and informed me that it was private property and I needed to "get off his damn property"! I tried to explain to him that I had received permission from an employee, but he cut me off and told me that he didn't care. He was the owner and no one else could give me permission and to just get out now. I did and I'll never go back. I wouldn't care if he ever got another customer again. Worst experience in Helen!!! My legs are all bruised and wounded from the rockery that was all throughout the river. The water was VERY low and SO many people were always crowded into one section. I do not recommend going here unless you want to sit through a two hour ride in hell. As soon as one person got stuck, a entire line would form creating just inches of room. Not to mention little kids splashing and giving no room to travel freely. A nice concept but POOR execution. Rocks would be hidden underneath to slam into your butt. Very dangerous! Read other poor reviews and decided to go form our own opinion! So glad we did!!!! We LOVED this place. For our kids, 8 & 10 year old girls, it was perfect! Two large slides, 2 large flumes, 1 lazy River. We did not eat the food but we were r going there to eat. You can not take food down on the deck where the pool chairs are but the have a nice covered area where you can get a few items. Staff were pleasant! We were also told they are redoing the entrance bridge to make it more handicap accessible. If you are looking for Aquatica or Wet-n-Wild go to floor with the millions of other people! We live there and a little more laid back pace with not all the fanciest things in life are what works best for us and this is it! Absolutely the worst experience my friend group of 10 who have been coming to Helen since we were young have ever had. Cool river tubing is amazing but Helen tubing is the ABSOLUTE worst. An old grey haired man in a grey jacked up truck swooped in the parking lot we had just parked in due to his staff telling us to after we had just paid our $20. There was no one is this parking lot giving direction so we just parked along with another car that followed our lead. We notice he got out and instead of approaching us nicely IMMEDIATELY starting screaming at this other group (who we didn't know) accusing them of not having a band bc it wasn't on their wrist and then proceeded to call them liars. After they showed him the band he asked why they were not wearing it and they stated it was just given to them. When he came to my group, he came with the same exact attitude and told us we need to move our dam* car and then asked we're our wrist band was. One of our group members proceeded to tell him that his workers are not doing their job and just handed it to us. After that he continues to yell. When one of the females of our groups speaks up he then proceeds to get in her face and start screaming and act like he is going to strike at her until one of the males start coming over. She then states that she will inform the owner and he responds with "good because I'm the owner." She then states that she is going to call the cops for him getting in her face and bowing up and his response was "good I don't care, I'm just and old man who is hot and has run out of patience." He then starts talking to his employees like they are dogs, screaming at them and running towards them as if he's going to strike them for not listening or understanding. Then to top it all off my friends and I were walking across the road to try and enjoy our time after this fiasco when this same grey truck purposely doesn't stop and catches my friends back with his truck mirror honking his horn when we were on a cross walk. NEVER in my life have I EVER experienced this type of behavior, especially after doing absolutely nothing to provoke it. $15 for an all day pass and we didn't bother with tubing down the river. two open air waterslides to rides down on mat, two includes tube slides, a lazy river, a couple of bounce houses, etc... good value, fun day. Shade and picnic tables for anyone not wanting to play in the water & I even found a wireless internet connection. The kids (9 & 10) might have been bored if we had down this right away after arriving at our vacation rental an hour away. However, after a week of low key fun & entertainment they disappeared in waterpark heaven for 3 hours before surfacing to even say hello :) read more

Has 4 slides & a large lazy river. Dated & needs some remodeling but kids had fun. We went tubing & came back to the park 20 mins before they were suppose to close & everything was shut down. My 5yr old wanted to ride slide one last time & cried when he say everything closed up. The staff was kind of rude & said she didn't feel like staying because it was so slow. First off, let me say that we usually have a good experience with this tubing company. But when it comes down to actually needing good customer service, they definitely fail big time. A little less than halfway down, my young daughters tube was half deflated. We realized earlier on that it had a slow leak but we were hoping we could make it. She began to hurt her back on rocks because her tube was so low. I realized she was sinking so we had to get out. We had to walk a very long walk back to where we were supposed to get off, carrying two tubes with each of us in bathing suits and wet shoes. I was left with a blister on my foot, a sore back, and sore arms. When I explained what happened, not one employee that I talked to apologized for our experience. I know they did not purposefully poke a hole and that it was an accident but a little common courtesy goes a long way. I asked for a refund since they provide a service and we did not get to partake of that service because we had to walk the tubes all the way back. I could have left them in the river and I thought I was very nice to bring them all the way back. After some debate and a visor to "the boss", they did a refund but I was told this was not something they were usually allowed to do and that us getting a hole in our tube was just a risk that we take and not their problem. Of the three employees that I spoke with, not one showed any sort of empathy and they made it very clear that it was not their problem. read more

If I could give this zero stars, I would! The river was so low that we kept getting stuck on rocks and you had to get out and walk your tube through a good portion of it!! They need to sign before you pay saying how high or low the river is! There is no way we would have gone if we had known how low the river was! There were so many people on the river as well that they would get stuck at a certain point and then you would just jam up there. There were tons of groups with 4 to 6 people tied together and it made it hard to get around them! Helen tubing also needs a midpoint on the route in order to allow you to get out if that's what you want. Cool tubing has this but Helen tubing does not. I would have bailed much earlier if I had the opportunity! Also, their take-out point is horribly dangerous! There is not a real shallow area for you to get out on and it is also very slippery with the rocks! There was no one at the takeout point to help you with your tube like there was at cool tubing! When using their bathroom/changing room, it was not kept clean and one of the bathroom stall doors did not even close! This left one stall for all of the women to use! I would NEVER recommend this as it was the worst experience I've ever had! read more

Do not use this waterpark and tubing! I bought tickets on line and the day we were supposed to go they didn't open the park or the tubing area because of a threat of storms (which never developed) we had to leave the next day and go back home to Florida, meaning we did not get to use our tickets. When I got home I went on their web site and requested a refund. The first request was never answered so a couple days later I wrote a second request which was finally answered the next day. (We do not give refunds, you should have bought ticket insurance) was the reply I received. While we were in Helen walking around and talking with different people we explained what happen about us not being able to go because the parks were not open. Many of the locals we talked to told us we should not have picked that park and that they had a bad name about customer service. So again, do not use this company. By the way other tubing companies in Helen were open that day. read more

Didn't realize this type of discrimination still existed. My child is a part time wheelchair user with plenty of upper body strength too, so she was able to climb the 20 or so steps to access the water but wouldn't be able to get to the bathrooms. We had enough family to make the best of it but I inquired with the front desk lady as to what we could do for a restroom and (out of curiosity) what if a child is a wheelchair user, do you turn them away at the door? She said "there's a port a John by the dumpsters‍ Idk" and "well yeah, bc we have no way to let handicapped kids in, and we are all shocked noones ever reported this place too". The facilities are filthy and there is one way to access the lazy river, and let the kids play. Also the place where staff dangerously and lazily pushes 15 empty tubes on your tiny children. Since there aren't negative stars, I couldn't select any. The staff at the counter was beyond rude & very inattentive. The lifeguards, if they were paying attention to my grandchildren at all - instead of talking between themselves - were telling the kids to ride the slides contrary to the warning signs at the top of the slide. I have a vacation condo across the river from the water slide and normally take my family there when visiting & also recommend it to renters but will NEVER do that again. I've spent a lot of my money there over the years but spent the last $64 there today. read more

This place is cute for the not very active.the lazy river is very relaxing and good for little children who can't quite go on the river or hike, and the slides are nice enough to be exciting for slightly older kids. (And adults!) But be prepared for the very loud Jesus radio. read more
