I am beyond disappointed. I was a loyal client and gave this salon 5 stars in the past, but since Helen moved to Pikesville, the service has completely changed. I've tried multiple times to get my nails done, most recently on a Friday afternoon around 12:45 and have been turned away again and again. The worst part? There were several staff members sitting in the shop not doing nails. Most nail salons take walk-ins unless otherwise stated. Instead of being offered a wait time or appointment, I was simply told "we don't have time." That's not just inconvenient, it's rude and dismissive. If I could give this business 0 stars I would, I found this salon on Maps via Applephone and initially the first person I was booked with was named Tammy very nice lady however she informed me she wasn't use to doing Long Natural Nails. And suggested I cut them down of course I'm not doing that because I'm used to getting the service I like "Dip powder on nails & Pedicure with gel". So the first time she serviced me my index and middle finger broke within 2 weeks..ANYBODY who knows know powder dip lasts for a minimum of 4 weeks. So I went back Tammy repaired the nails, now I call and make another appointment this time polish change on toes and dip powder on nails. NOW it comes to exactly a week now mind you Tammy keeps suggesting that I need to cut my nails, but I'm not doing that. Move forward my nails were looking decent now within the week three of my nails break this time so now I called to make an appointment to get nails repaired because this is crazy the owner offered to do my nails and she did a good job so it comes up on another two weeks it's time for me to get my nails done again! Nothing's lasting at this point, but I'm not gonna walk around without my nails done. That's not happening so I get an appointment with the owner that fixed my nails and made them look super good so I show her a picture of the style that I want very simple black with a matte and a little design as she's finishing up my nails I'm noticing they're looking thick. The design was not what I asked for so no, no I don't like it. She wipes it off. I could tell she's kind of getting an attitude, but OK... Then she's just like well. I have an appointment and I basically can't keep trying to do it I don't know how to do it so I'm like OK I'll just go somewhere else to get a pedicure and get my nails fixed! Now I'm at the register getting ready to pay she's like oh so you're not gonna get your toes done? This place is full of it if you can find another shop that's not just chasing money but, actually values quality work I would say take your time and dothe research. I've known Helen for 14 years and have seen a major decline in her work ethic and attitude. She does nails excellent but she's typically late. She typically makes appointments and are either late to them or will be running behind, not giving herself adequate time for service. A recent appointment she arrived over an hour late. Always great service. Helen, Tammy and Jade are some of the staff and I think Anne. They are all great. Very friendly, they take their time and don't rush. I've even seen customers walk in and they will either turn them away or tell them it will be a one or two hour wait, depending on how busy they are, which isn't typical for nail salons who will usually try to squeeze in as many customers as possible but they truly take their time and focus on each customer. That may sometimes mean you're moved around to different staff members though so one may cut your nails but another will paint them and so on which is a little annoying but still gets the job done. They offer you something to drink: water, soda or even wine! I usually am happy with my manis and pedis. The hot stone pedi is amazing and I would highly recommend it. Whenever I get the gel pedicure, it lasts forever. The only thing I don't like is that whenever I ask for designs, they say they have stickers. Would be great if they did brush or painted designs because sometimes the stickers don't last especially the 3D ones. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I am so beyond disappointed. My first time here I walk in and sit down, the nail tech didn't even let me look at the gel colors he insisted I get a white French or white and pink ombré. I've always wanted to try ombré so I said yes that's fine. He starts asking all the nail techs how to do ombré and even called his wife asking her. He did my pinky nail and I didn't not like it, it was not ombré at all. It's was half pink half white, no fade. I said no thank you, I don't like that. He took it off and insisted that I try a darker pink. So I gave it a try and again my nail was half and half not ombré. He went back and forth with me that it was. I said let's stick with a solid color. So I picked the safe option bubble bath, you can't go wrong! First of all, he kept burning me with the nail file I would say about 7 times. He used DIP powder like you would acrylic powder, with a brush and acetone. I was thinking in my head, I've had dip powder before and you use a totally different technique where you dip the nail in the powder and then use a bonding polish. With that being said, my nails wouldn't dry. They were super soft because it was not done the correct way. He put my hands under the UV light about 7 times and they still were very soft. I asked him why my nails weren't drying and he said they were. He starting filing them with the electric file and the part of my nail where the cuticle is started chipping. At this point I'm so upset I just want to leave. He randomly said "I will charge you 65 not 75 ok, go wash your hands." I go to the sink and look at my nails and it was the worst thing I've ever seen, I kindly asked if someone else could finish my nails bc I am not happy at all. They said I would have to wait for 45 minutes. I said I cannot wait that long, and I am not paying for nails that are not even dry and bonded. The guy said ok well you aren't leaving with nails on if you aren't paying, and I said ok that's perfectly fine we can take them off. He clips my nails like the picture below and says "go, leave". I said are you really letting me leave the salon like this? He said go. So I walk out, and a nail technician was outside. She apologized to me and told me she would take my nails off the right way. She was very sweet and she saw where he cut me, and saw that my nails were not dry.. She got them off in 10 minutes since they were never dry to begin with and I thanked her. She insisted that I come back to make things right and that the owner will give me a discount and she was not here tonight. I will not be back. That was the most traumatic experience in a nail salon and the way I was treated was the worst customer service I've ever received ANYWHERE. Besides the technician that helped me at the end. Thank you for wasting two hours of my time, treating me horribly because I was not happy, and not fixing the problem and letting me walk out with chopped up nails. I cannot believe it. read more

Nails look good. Not too much parking out front but i didn't have an issue finding a spot. I think they close their blinds towards the end of the day so everyone is not blinded by the sun. But with the blinds down it looked like they were closed, but they were open. When I walked in there was a lot of people already there getting their nails done. Today (on a Monday around noon), I was a walk in pedicure. I was immediately serviced, and my feet were done in an acceptable amount of time. The employees were nice. The inside of the business is clean. The massage chairs were comfortable. Overall, it's a straight to the point nail shop that isn't snobbish or questionable. The nail tech took his time, so it wasn't rushed. I'm satisfied with my pedicure, so I will be returning. It was only $25 before tip. Plus, they have flexible hours that fall on any day of the week. I have passed by this location on York Road so many times that I can't count, but I hadn't noticed it before. It's actually in the shopping center adjacent to Sonic. Yelp reviews are what made me try them, so glad I listened to the reviews. Great nail shop. I would post a picture of my pedicure, but I refuse to post a foot fetish pose of my toes, lol! I took a chance and visited this salon without recommendation purely based on the Yelp reviews. I have to say this on gets a thumbs up. I had manicure done with gel nail polish without on my natural nails. Overall I would say I had a good experience but the technician did something that I found strange. When I sat down in her chair, the shop manager brought over to her a little boat with what I assumed were disinfected utensils( cuticle trimmer, nail clippers etc.) she took them and then reach into her drawer to pull out a cuticle trimmer. I had to ask why she did that. So although I was very pleased with the finished project, I have concerns there should be some hygiene issues. read more

This nail salon is located close to where I reside. So I go there out of convenience. I was so impressed by the level of detail that was put into my nails, I decided this would become "My Spot". I started frequenting this location every two weeks. They have done many types and styles of nails from S&S, to dry glitter, French, Stiletto, coffin, square and basic manicures. I pay upwards of $100-$130 for my nails to be done, and I tip well because typically the service is great! I went in once with no appointment per usual and instead of the owner doing my toes there was a new young lady. Cool! Great! No problem! I received a BASIC pedicure as requested. I sat for 4 hours!!! And no one said a word. Start to finish I sat and while this young lady did my toes. It's apparent that she has a disability of some sort. So I gather my patience and say nothing about how slow the service was. I decided not to go back because I felt I should have received an apology for my time, which I never received. Months later I decide to go back. I called before hand and I came in. They set me up with the same girl from my last visit. I say nothing because I'm thinking well how do I say no I want someone else with out sounding harsh. Because she again has a disability of some sort. So I sit I'm comfortable, she's nice and really is trying. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours getting my feet done and again no one said anything. By the second hour I ask is this real and approximately how long does anyone working there think it'll be before I'm done. I watched 2 people get 30min pedicures while I was there. No apologized for the inconvenience. I stayed and got my nails refilled (gel polish/ gel nails) although I was sooooo late for my evening activities. My nails looked beautiful but then the two index fingers broke and a middle finger. I sat in the nail salon for 3 1/2 hours for my nails to not even last a week. If you're bored and have all day go sit and smell chemicals and then pay your hard earned money by all means go there. But if you just want nice neat clean nails at a normal pace then don't go. Have been here twice before, but went again recently. I have to say their hygiene is a MAJOR concern. Helen pulled a cuticle trimmer out of her drawer. Clearly had not been washed or disinfected. The brushes sitting on the working space are also gross looking. Probably have never been washed either. Definitely will not be returning. Hope I don't get an infection! read more

I went to Helen's nails for the first time a few months ago. Helen seemed nice and she did such a beautiful job! So I made an appt with her two weeks later. Except when I got there, she had just taken someone else. And so it went- I would always make an appt, arrive on time and Helen would need 10-20 mins to finish someone else. Most recently, I made an appointment to have both my lashes and nails filled in before my husband's 30th Birthday party the following day. I knew there would be a lot of photos taken and wanted to look nice. I sat for 30 mins past my appointment time. Then, Helen told me I could go back to the room where my lashes would be done. I sat for another 15 mins. When I stuck my head out to see what was going on, I could see Helen up front chatting with the client she'd just finished (during MY appt time). So I went up and told Helen that I was going to have to leave for my next appt. She told me the problem was another employee had been using the room reserved for lash and waxing services and there was nothing she could have done.... Um, you're the owner and part of setting an appt is not just making sure YOU'RE available but also reserving the space/tools needed to preform the service. But she PROMISED me if I went back and laid down she'd be right there... Desperate to have at least my lashes filled and with no other options, I agreed. I went back to the lash/waxing room and decided I would give Helen 5 more mins. The 5 mins passed and I was still sitting there alone. So I walked out of the room and through the salon to the door- there was no sign of Helen anywhere. I called her to make a complaint but she just kept repeating that someone else had gone in to use the room and there was "nothing she could do"... She didn't really apologize or even seem to understand why I was upset. I tried asking her why she would give me a lash appt (that I'd set up a wk prior) without also making sure to reserve the room we could not do the service without. Or at least looking at her appointments for the day and telling her staff not to use it at 3:00. Of course, she just repeated that someone else had gone it and there was nothing she could do. Even if that were the case, AFTER the room was vacated, I STILL waited 20 mins while Helen finished the pedicure she must have started just before I came in for my appt. Every business owner needs to make money but in this case, it's pure greed. They'll make an appt but it's not honored- if a walk-in comes in just before your appt, they'll take them regardless and try to make money off you both at the same time. The result is that both customers get sub-par services and wind up sitting for them twice as long as they would have! read more

Great nail place, but there's only 3 employees. Service is soooooo slow, for a gel manicure and pedicure I was there for 2hrs and 15mins. My nails looked good but I won't be back due to their slow pace. You HAVE to have an appointment otherwise who knows how long you will be waiting. Oh my goodness this place is amazing! The people are incredibly nice and they do a fantastic job. I have not done a walk in yet because I've heard it's too busy for that but I've never had a problem making an appointment. The materials they use don't peel or lift. If the color does chip they fixed it for free for me. They don't mind taking credit cards or putting tips on credit cards. All of the technicians are gentle and don't rush or skip corners. Made a last minute appt. for SNS and a pedicure and was in the chair on time. I got the $35 pedicure and was very pleased with the technician and the result for the price. The owner, Helen, did my nails with SNS ($40) and it is by far the best SNS I've had done in the area.
