Chin believes only in soaking off the existing nails and will not hurry the visit by using the grinder most places use. He explained to me that it wears away at the strength of my natural nail and that I should insist my nail salon back home takes the time to soak off my nails. With that being said, Chin took great care in getting my very damaged and very short nails back to looking really nice, and we agreed only one tip for a nail that I had bit off so short it was painful. An chimed in on the color selection, and the two of them got me to a beautiful shade of champagne. As I sat in their salon, I lost sight of the fact that I was right off Eastern Avenue. The atmosphere is tranquil and very relaxing. Good conversation was shared between the owners, another team member, and two regulars of theirs who were super pleasant. Came in and asked for the deluxe pedicure with gel polish. Gel polish looks fine. Whatever. The pedicure itself was not worth the nearly $70 (not including the tip!) I was charged. She scrubbed the fuck out of my one leg and hardly scrubbed the other. All she did was slather my legs in a thick layer of lotion and barely rubbed it in. Then she asked if I wanted my toenails clipped. Duh? Of course I want them cut; they were long! I tell her yes. She clarifies. "Do you want me to cut them all the way down?" Yes. Please. I get home and feel pain in my toes. I look. She barely cut any of my nails off, and most she left most of my toes with sharp edges that were digging into my skin! I'm diabetic. I physically cannot afford to get foot injuries. So i had to cut my nails myself. Now everything looks like shit but at least I'm not in the running for multiple ingrown toes or in pain. Though Kieu is still getting established, the quality of her work remains A1! Actually just left here a few minutes ago, and i have to say that was the roughest, most rushed,…read moreand slightly painful pedicure i've ever gotten. the nail tech didn't even ask me what length or shape i wanted my toe nails, just immediately started cutting. and she cut my cuticles way too low to the point where my big toes were in pain. there was barely any interaction between us, as she chatted with her friend the whole time. her friend (another worker who was doing my partners pedicure), didn't say a single word or ask a single thing about her experience/preferences the entire time. the only thing she asked was what color she wanted. on top of that, she put the wrong color on my toes and when i told her it was the wrong color she told me no it was the right one. and then hastily painted the CORRECT color on top. Even after all of this, i still paid the full amount. no complaints about having to pay but geez not even a consolation or apology! NEVER AGAIN :)
