I did my due diligence with research and was pleased that she had a well-maintained website, great reviews, and a contact form. Despite the fact that I contacted her within less than a week before my shoot, she responded promptly and eagerly to my request, and took my deposit via Venmo (so easy). I sent her some samples of styles I liked and she said we could discuss more the day of, combined with my outfit, to ensure we were on the same page and I was satisfied with her work. She arrived to my house early and set up. She comes prepared for everything and has high-quality brands such as MAC and NARS. She even brings her own extension cord, which is really smart! We decided on a dark purple eye and red lips for my makeup. She has a very light hand and her application felt smooth, never cakey. Her brushes are soft and I could tell she keeps them clean and in great condition. I appreciated that her approach was collaborative and she asked me throughout the session what I thought of the work. The falsies we picked out together blended seamlessly into my already-long natural lashes, which I absolutely loved. She also took her time to ensure everything looked blended and put together. The look ended up appearing exaggerated, but that was perfect for my purposes since this was specifically so it would photograph well. My hair turned out fantastic as well. This was quicker than makeup, but my curls held up very well given that I was dancing in the photoshoot. She knows hair and loves learning more about it; I love that she is always looking to expand her knowledge rather than being set in her own ways. In addition to the excellent quality of her work, Michelle is incredibly warm, friendly, and easy to talk to. I definitely felt comfortable spending two hours alone with her because it is apparent she is so passionate about her job. All in all, Michelle is an immensely talented and personable hair/makeup artist, with very fair pricing to boot. I'm not sure when I will next need these services done, but when I do, I know I will contact her, and I highly recommend you do the same!
