I purchased a TV from Walmart. On Walmart website, there is an option to select mounting/installation service for $79, which is paid at the time of purchase. So, I purchased the service and was sent confirmation that a Hello Tech would make contact with me to schedule the install. On September 24, 2024, I received the email requesting that I select the date and time to install. I selected the evening of September 24, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. Approximately two hours later the appointment was cancelled with no explanation. Because Walmart site indicates no refund on mounting services, I made contact with Hello Tech via phone. I was advised that my location was outside of their service area. They didn't even mention refunding my money. When I asked about the money I had already paid, I was advised that it would take 4 to 6 weeks before a check could be sent out to me, or 7 to 14 days by PayPal. I requested the PayPal method of reimbursement. As of date, I have not received my money. Why would you accept a job, take the money, then say you do not service the area. I ended up paying another company to mount my television, while I continue to wait on my refund. This service (or lack of service) is terrible; I would not recommend Hello Tech to anyone. read more

Julian was extremely knowledgeable in technical matters, patient with us and instructions, and personable & professional. The router is bad but to get to that point Julians methodical mindset went through multiple steps before coming to that conclusion. I'm pretty patient but his demeanor was exemplary and shows he really like what he does and cares about people. I would recommend him for future assignments and to my friends as well. read more

I had a tv professionally mounted by a Hello Tech technician in December, my tv came out of the wall that it was mounted in and destroyed my living room wall. I reached out to the company May 26 to have this resolved, it is now June 15th and I still have yet to have someone schedule to come fix this. I will not be using this company again and do Not recommend their services. read more

My computer was acting up and I needed help quickly. So I drove to Best Buy, but was told at the door that I needed to book a reservation. Feeling a little annoyed, when I got on my phone to book an appointment, I saw an ad for this company Hello Tech, and they would come to me. GREAT, this is exactly what I needed. Booking was quick and easy. Michael was very informative and pleasant. It would be a pleasure to work with him again. read more

This was the worst experience ever. After getting two confirmation emails and a confirmation text the night before with the tech name, he doesn't show up, as I have someone waiting at home for him. I call at 1130 (for my 10am appt) and the incompetent CSR (named Anne, refused to give a last name, employee ID or anything else) could only tell me she called the tech but it looked like a "system glitch" didn't let him know the job, even though you don't get a tech name until they claim the job. She couldn't get me a supervisor or transfer me to another department, just, the right department would call me back, which hasn't happened. Couldn't offer me a discount, considering the tech showed up at 2pm, FOUR HOURS LATE, wasting my husband's entire day sitting at home. Then the tech, Ken shows up not knowing what the job is for. He didn't come in wearing a mask we had to ASK him to wear a mask. Installing a security system with motion sensors and cameras, showed up without a ladder, had to use ours, and didn't even break it back down and offer to replace it in the garage. He didn't have a PEN on him. My husband had to walk him through the components and he left without actually being able to secure the doorbell to the outside of the house. He literally had no idea how to do anything and had to be walked through the entire thing. Complete waste of my time and money and such an aggravation. I'm returning the system because the install made it feel ineffective and will be letting simplisafe know the reason is their recommendation of this incompetent company. read more

FYI - 5 stars for Shane; HelloTech as an Installation Subcontractor for Rachio about a 2 (advertise next day service - unable to meet my schedule; took them 2 days to find a Rachio installer tech - must confess, it was my understanding that the Rachio Installation Techs were HelloTech employees - appears HelloTech subcontracts out the work. Shane from JC Smart Homes Installation (apparently a subcontractor to HelloTech) was professional, personal, knowledgeable of the product, and of the job. Removal of old controller and installation of Rachio 3 a bit more complicated than first appeared; installer of old controller did a very professional job, and so its removal and power to new unit took a bit more work, including realigning the Rachio 3 to meet the power and zone valve wiring of the old conduit (not nearly as simple as the diagrams and videos would have one believe - certainly reinforced my decision to hire a pro); BUT, nevertheless, Shane completed a very professional-looking installation (including caulking the Rachio "waterproof enclosure" as an additional safety precaution (a welcome finishing touch)); setup the fairly simple initial Rachio zones and watering schedule and tested the controller and cellphone for operation; offered to help finalize the schedules but I declined (being retired and somewhat of a computer nerd, provides another "toy" to play with). Very satisfied with the installation by Shane; while the initial setup was fairly simple (thks to Shane), time will tell how "simple" it is for me. At my request, Shane did leave a number to contact him if I needed any further assistance in setting up the Rachio 3 and/or schedules. read more
