Would've stayed here all day if there wasn't other wineries I had to visit. This place is definitely a favorite! Best winery in Idaho I've been too! They have a beautiful area where they leave you unbothered with a beautiful ambiance of country grass and wind vibes. Get a flight as all their reds and whites are amazing! Sit back and enjoy the sounds of peace! The staff was the friendliest of all wineries I visited in Idaho. Don't sleep on this place! Do not come here. Really. The pretentiousness is palpable. As a birthday surprise, I came with 8 friends. As we entered we were immediately told not to come in. I concede it was not the winery owners fault- but the woman at the front was so rude. So. Rude. Let's try this: Hey guys! Welcome! We usually try to reserve for groups bigger than 6, but if you want to relax on our patio, we'd be glad to have you. No. We got: What? No. We can't have you here. We're too small. This winery takes a different spin on wine tasting. They don't serve tastes so much as they serve flights so it's up to you what you select. On this day we selected two different flights of three. I selected the wines and the YS selected the reds. The flights offered enough wine so we could both taste several tastes of each wine. This was good as we went back time and again to our favorites. At the end we had selected four wines that we really liked. We were able to sample their wines in a nice living room decor and it was relaxing with a nice view of the vineyard. The atmosphere was more like going to a friend's home and sampling a wine than going to a vineyard which I really liked. Hadley and Jocelyn the two sisters that own the winery were very attentive and helpful in serving and helping us select our wines. Their wine was so nicely priced that we ended up with a mixed case for $125. They had some really cute glasses that they served their wine in and I was going to pick up a couple of them, however, I forgot when we got to selecting our wine. Check this winery out. We learned of their fine wine while dining at Muse Bistro(see review). Located off Chicken Dinner Road (not kidding) and Symms Road a peaceful stop and a beautiful view. Extremely disappointed, not with the wine because we never got to actually taste it but with the first impression. We showed up with a group of girls, over the 6 which meant we needed to call in, and were greeted with an absorbent amount of attitude. (We honestly didn't know.) It was a gorgeous day and we were all excited to buy bottles of wine and sit on the lawn and enjoy our own company. To our surprise, a worker wasn't welcoming and just down right cold because of our 6+ presence. The winery had about 6 other people on the property and they refused to make accommodations for the 9 girls that arrived. While I understand if there were more people on the grounds, them being upset but with the conditions the way they were, we were shocked they didn't want us to join. Prior to being greeted with attitude and rudeness, this winery looked so cute and welcoming with a small little house, yard and patio. I am sad to say I will never return here to experience their small house, yard or patio nor buy their wine. First impressions are everything and I refuse to spend my money at a place that can treat their customers so poorly. read more

What a lovely spot! Beautiful view and beautiful wines. Staff was friendly, tables were spaced apart. Staff wore masks and served you at your table only, indoor wine room was closed. Had an amazing flight of five wines. The Claret and Riesling were favorites. We will be back! Thank you! read more

This winery is a tucked away little gem in Idaho. Not only are the staff gracious, knowledgeable and friendly, but they are very welcoming. The wines are fabulous and the scenery surrounding this winery is stunning. You feel like you're in the French countryside. Had a Mother's Day visit with the Daughter and her family, excellent wine, snacks and awesome, awesome atmosphere zhoo zhoo is the BEST.

I took a group of girls for a Bachelorette party to this winery. I called them in advance and let them know exactly when we would be arriving and told them I would have approx. 30 girls. Sounded like they were happy to have us. Upon arrival, they were very upset that I only had 20 girls rather than 30 (as though this was intentional). Rather than being happy we were there and welcoming us to their small winery, we were treated rudely and abrasively by the staff. Many of the girls in my group purchased wine and went to sit on the grass which made the staff mad when they opted not to do the wine tasting so I no longer had 20 people tasting and now only had 14. Again, still not happy we were there. Then our "tasting" was just 6 wine bottles (only 2 choices, but 3 of the same) sat on our table and the server walked away. When we tried the first wine we were not impressed so we asked if you could try something else rather than finish 2 more bottles of wine we didn't enjoy. We were then told it was probably just because we had been drinking wine all day and don't know what we are tasting. At this point, I had no patience to continue so we took our wine, finished our tasting and went on to finish what was an excellent bachelorette party except for the experience by the owner and staff at this winery. I would avoid this winery as there are so many better ones in the area. All the others on our winery tour that day were amazing and couldn't be happier that I brought a group of 20 girls (and potential long term customers) to their wineries. None of us will be going back to Hells Canyon and we will make sure all our friends and family know how bad our experience was. read more

While Hells Canyon and Zhoo Zhoo have an excellent location, with a very pleasant patio underneath some trees and a flight-oriented tasting menu, that's all I can say good about it. The wines were average at best, the rosé was outright undrinkable. Service was neither attentive nor ignoring. read more

Such a cute little winery! True decor of the house is insanely funky and nothing like you've seen before! It gives the place a lot of character. The wine was okay though...not my taste but everyone's is different! The ladies working here were so nice and awesome. Only complaint is that there wasn't much room to sit, so if it's crowded you're kinda screwed (it was way too cold to sit outside). Also they give you quite a big tasting which is nice! read more

I first discovered this winery when I went to the Sunny Slope Wine Festival. What really attracted us was the unique labels on both the Hells Canyon and Zhoo Zhoo bottles. Hadley was serving at the booth and gave us some wonder history of their winery and the stories behind their labels. She gave me direction to their winery and we went back a few weeks later to do a tasting. What a cute quaint place. Colorful tables outside where you can enjoy a view of the Owyhee Mountains. We ventured inside where we were greeted by Leslie. We were told it was an open house and we could sit in any of the rooms. We chose the library where they had bottle of years past lining the wall. Leslie came in and spoke to us giving us another history lesson on their place and the wines. We each did a flight of 3 with very generous pours. Where was not one of their wines we did not like, In fact they were so good we signed up for their wine club. For $40 a month you get one white, rose and a red. We now go back every month to pick up our wine and have a little picnic. Every time we go back we take a different neighbor to introduce to our favorite winery. Every one of the staff is wonderful and makes us feel very welcome. Leslie knows me by name after just a few times there and always makes me feel like I am part of their family. Happened upon Hells Canyon Winery last weekend. Loved it so much I went back today. I love the idea of wine flights for tasting. It has spoiled me for tasting other places. The view is spectacular, the wine is great, the picnic basket was just right, and Bowie the Chicken added some lovely Idaho-ness. We were on the motorcycle for our last visit so we left with only 4 bottles. Today, I left with 2+ cases. Love the Claret and Redhead. read more

After ready other reviews that were less than stellar, I realized a common issues and figured the issue was with the reviewers. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Everyone was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing wine tasting experience. This is a small boutique winery, with an outside tasting area and amazing views of the valley and vineyards. Had we not know we were in Idaho it would be easy to imagine you were in France or Italy. The tastings are groups of flights per your choosing. We decided we wanted to enjoy a beautiful day in Idaho so we sat outside and everything was brought to us. We also purchaed two of their " picnic baskets" and we all said WOW when it was delivered to our table. All the munchies were wonderful and presentation beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the generous tasting pours and we bought several bottles of wine to enjoy later. Our server even brought out a complimentary tasting we had not ordered. The winery dogs were a delight and we enjoyed them during our visit. We will definately return and have already spread the word to family members and other friends, this is a must see winery in treasure valley. read more
