Sawtooth Winery has a great outdoor tasting area with lush greenery and plenty of dog-friendly seating. We enjoyed our wine flights of which we could customize with three choices or combos of their red and white selections in 3 oz. pours. We had the cheese charcuterie board and added the cured meats. It was full of tasty items and more than enough for the two of us. It states it feeds 2-4 people on the menu and that is true. The wines were well made and we purchased several bottles to take with us. It seems that this is a local hangout as they offer mimosa flights made from their brut and they aren't your standard wine tasting presentation with long explanations of the wine making process and winery history. If that's what you're looking for, this really isn't it. If you want good tasting wines and atmosphere without the pretense, then this is the place for you. read more

I had a really great experience at Sawtooth Winery. The service stood out right away--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being pushy, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and easy. We visited this winery on our vacation and got there right when they opened on a Tuesday morning, my wife's birthday. We were seated outside at a shady table. We ordered one wine flight each and a cheese board to share, which was plenty for us. The ambiance is relaxing and the service was very good. We both were impressed by the quality of the wines we tasted. Not only were the pours generous and good, the value we got was outstanding. We live in Oregon wine country, which is famous for their wines. Not all wines there are good, and some are definitely overpriced. The wines at the Sawtooth winery we tasted, are quality, an outstanding value, and we purchased a couple of bottles and two wine glasses to enjoy at home. Went to Sawtooth Winery earlier today with friends and our kids. Overall, the food, service and wine were fine until an incident arose. Our family comes from Greece, where it is socially acceptable and common for a tween child to take a sip of wine at the table with family. My daughter, without realizing American protocol, went to take a sip of a tasting flight. Admittedly, I was looking down at my phone and wasn't exactly paying attention in that moment. A young female server with glasses swept in and made a scene. I wouldn't even have bothered posting this review had she just made a single comment and dropped it, but she made several comments and acted as if she couldn't leave my daughter with me at the table because it was unsafe. It was very embarrassing. Seeing that this woman was a bit lit up, my daughter even tried to diffuse the situation by saying, "There is no problem; I didn't even taste it." To be clear, I don't challenge the legalities of the issue (which she never mentioned - FYI) - nor do I challenge her telling me not to. My issue is not "what" she said, my issue is "how" she made a guest feel. A better way to handle this would have been a polite, "Sorry madam, but for legal reasons, we cannot allow that in our establishment", and the issue would have been dropped...but that's not what happened. My advice to management is to provide some training to staff on how to manage issues with respect. Guests shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable. Today, it was a tween trying to sneak a sip, tomorrow it might be hot drunk sex on a table. Who knows! Whatever the case, you can tell a guest whatever you need to tell them, but the way in which you do so is the secret to making people feel respected and valued, and wanting to come back again. I was in Boise and the smoke from the wildfires was killing me. I decided to go out towards the wineries for the day. Not many are open on a Tuesday but found Sawtooth was. Sarah was minding the bar. I ordered a mix flight ($20) and had a seat inside. They have a nice outdoor area but I was trying to stay away from the smoke. Inside is very cute. Wine was fine. Appear to have some food but only partook in the wine. It sounds like they have some fun events at the place. They were confirming people for goat yoga while I was there. I would come back if in the area. They share a driveway with another winery. read more

Checked out Sawtooth Winery over the weekend to try their mimosa flight. I heard they change the flavors monthly & this month, or in March, was Orange Creamsicle, Limoncello, and Strawberry Cheesecake. These were amazing!! Presentation was beautiful as well! The Orange creamsicle was kind of hard to drink at first because of the whipped cream, but it definitely gave it the best flavor adding that onto it. The strawberry cheesecake mimosa tasted just like cheesecake and I loved the fresh strawberries added into this! We also ordered the Gourmet Cheese board with added cured meats & a Veggie board. Both boards were fancy in design and great to snack on while sipping on these mimosas and hanging out with friends. I loved the variety of veggies on the veggie board. Service was great. It was a fun spot to go check out and I'm hoping to make another trip there in April for April Mimosas. read more

We made reservation a week in advance. When we walked in on a Friday afternoon we were hardly greeted at all. The woman who seated us was less than friendly. Our seat was by a roll up window but the seat was so low we couldn't see outside to the beautiful view . They would be better off with a high table in that spot. We had a couple minutes to look at the menus when the unfriendly woman came back and asked what can I order you. It felt very much like a fast food restaurant. I said I had a question and she walked away. It was very strange. Luckily a different woman came back with a smile on her face and helped us the rest of the time. Unfortunately this is not my type of tasting room. I wouldn't even really call it a tasting room as they don't offer tastings -- just wine flights; 3 3 oz pours. They have ones to choose from or you can customize. I chose a rosé, Chardonnay and a Malbec. None of them stood out to me. My husband did the more expensive line of their wines for his trio and we liked their Syrah. The cheese board was plenty for four people. The mimosa left something to be desired in taste despite the beautiful presentation. Overall, I really didn't enjoy this winery. No one told us one thing about the wine. We learned nothing while here. Usually I love standing at the bar and chatting with the people pouring the tastings. This was not that kind of tasting room. Their wine club was never mentioned and none of us felt inclined to by a bottle. It's unfortunate because it's a nice place but there could be a lot to improve the experience. read more

A charming winery with a lovely view overlooking the valley. They recently added event tents as well on the lower ground, I'm not sure if these are for regular guests or special events. We sat on the outdoor patio to enjoy the nice fall weather and shared a bottle of viogner and a charcuterie board. Some outdoor seating has rocking chairs. The wine was light and refreshing and paired well with the dried fruit on the board. I thought the shaved cheese on the board was a little odd, I've never been served cheese like that on a charcuterie board, but just put it on top on my crackers and it was fine. I would recommend if you want to try wine in the area. Nice views, good wine and not too far away from other wineries so you can sample other places. read more

Such a beautiful winery!!! Went here and was blown away by the view and how beautiful the outdoor patio was! I started with the mimosa flight which was a lil too sweet for my taste, but I asked for some extra champagne to pour in it and they accommodated with no problem. Then I had a red flight and it was sooo good! Loved the Malbec! We also ordered their charcuterie board and OMG. I only had time to go to one winery while I was in Idaho. I picked an awesome one. The servers there were very nice and warm. Flights $15, you can customize them. The Cheese Board was $14 added cost for meat. Very very good. In California we are blessed with many wineries throughout the state, I belong to several of them. Sawtooth's wines, both white and red are so good. I didn't taste any thing I didn't care for. This is definitely a must go to winery. The only reason I gave it for 4 stars is because I spent over $200 in wine and was still charged for the wine tasting. It's no big matter, but most wineries here in California will give you the tasting for free if you buy bottles of wine. read more

Ok so, this place is AMAZING. We are in Boise from Denver for the holiday. First of all, WHO KNEW Idaho had such great wine?! The rosé was bomb. The viognier, bomb. This place is just overall the bomb. But you know what MADE this place the most amazing? Alicia. My husband and I were here with my sister and her wife. My husband and sister-in-law walked over to the winery next door to check out the vibe, but my sister and I just decided to stay here simply because Alicia was so cool and was giving us such a good time. My husband and sister-in-law ended up coming back and we hung out for a while longer. We spent over 3 hours here hanging out on the patio with Alicia, simply because of the vibe she was serving up. Next time we come back, I seriously hope Alicia is still here, because this is the best winery experience I've EVER had. Alicia made our time here THE BEST. Thank you so much.
