I just assumed that getting taken advantage of and getting gouged was part of the dealer service experience, or at least that's what it has been everywhere else. I brought in my GL450 for service and some warranty repairs. Helms went above and beyond and found other critical issues that other dealers failed to notice or simply neglected. I am very surprised and pleased at the same time. Andy the service manager was beyond professional and kept me updated in every single step of the service and repair process. I just have to give them 5 stars especially after dealing with BMW down the road. It's really all about the sales person you're dealing with and Erick was the man. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and up front. He was willing to negotiate and in the end met us where we wanted numbers wise. Sure we had to put a little more down but he made sure it was within our budget. Greg from finance was also a laugh in the best way possible and made the process go by smoothly too. Worst service department. I have a brand new GLE350 ( 2021) with 700 miles. Every time I apply the brakes a hear a noise. I brought car to service department. 1st they replace the brake pads and " clean the rotors" ( their language" .. 700 miles ??? I go pick up truck next day and same noise only worse. They keep it another day and tell me they lubricated the boot behind the brake pedal. Noise still there. I speak to the service manager and he tells me "All GLE's make that noise but he didn't have a brand new one to show me.. 64K ( 860 per month) and he wants me to live with hearing this noise every time I apply the brake or take my foot off it from a complete stop. Well I guess I have to go to a different Mercedes dealership to get this fixed. read more

This review is strictly to Wilhem only and not the dealership! He was the one and only reason why I made this purchase and why I am happy. This happened back in May 2015. My wife and I arrived on a Sunday morning before store opened without an appointment. All staffs waited outside, no one greet or say hi. Wilhem showed up at the moment the door opened. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE said hello, good morning and immediately offered coffee and made us feel welcome. This review is long overdue. Sorry!!!!!! This dealership never fails to accommodate your issues if any. They go above and beyond for their clients satisfaction. My XC90 had some issues recently relating to the sunroof which had to be changed completely (under warranty). I was introduced to Ms. Melissa Evans who heads the Volvo side of the dealership. She was quick to schedule an appointment and have someone from the service contact me. I was given a loaner, not an SUV which I need as I have more than 5 people in my family. Ms. Evans was courteous enough to lend me the demo vehicle for the time my car was in service. Ms. florence at the service was always on top of my cars progress and kept me updated always. They had the parts expedited and had the car ready in 4-5 days. The only shortcoming of the dealership is the scarcity of loaners, which I hope they address soon. I had called today as my car needed a much required software update for the navigation and to my surprise Ms. Evans was there for the rescue. Thank you Ms. Evans and Ms. Florence for your service and accommodating me at such short notice. Their continued service had obliged me to direct my colleagues to their dealership. One of my very close friend needed an AMG, we dropped in one day and Susan made sure that the transaction went smooth as butter. These people are liars! My wife and I purchased a 2013 300C 4matic The first question we asked had the car ever been in an accident? We were told never clean car fax! We went to trade car in at another dealer only to find out car was in a accident! Drivers side from front of car to the drunk! They denied having any knowledge of this! Which is a complete lie! The first thing they do is check the paint depth. My wife and I have purchased and or leased at least 25-30 cars in the last 18 years! I've never experienced anything like this at any other dealer! We have asked for help in this matter We have never cursed threatened or abused anyone at this dealership. I contacted Suzanne Cochrane there GM on March 15, 2018 She has basically done nothing to help us. She did offer us a car and inflated its value $3500.00 and told us it was a good deal! Excellent customer service and great deals. I purchased a vehicle here not too long ago and was never pressured into taking a deal that I was not comfortable with. The nearby dealerships are incomparable when it comes to price, quality, and value for money. Bayside BMW, Star subaru, nissan, toyota: Can't test drive vehicles, lazy salesman who ask you to discuss price before "scheduling a test drive". Helms Bros: Test drive any vehicle that you want (I didn't try the six figure models) then discuss pricing if you want. No pressure! I enjoyed the treatment I received at Helms Bros. The space was clean and everyone was very friendly. I sat down with the used car sales manager, Dennis Kwong, and he recommended I take a look at E350 sport. It was the perfect car I was looking for. It was spacious, sporty and a sedan. One of the salesman, John Flynn, took us out on a test drive and throughly explained each function of the vehicle. I was very happy and purchased the vehicle the same day. This is by far the most clean and organized dealership I've ever been to. My dealer Jason is the man. He'll do his best to satisfy a customer. Adam in finance is incompetent and unprofessional. He says that he will return your calls and NEVER does. He is quick to take your money but is ever so elusive when it comes to receiving a credit. Almost not worth the hassle. Went to have my back bumper serviced and brought in my other benz to receive ceramic tinting. They didn't want to give us a loaner car so I took my car and had it ceramic tinted elsewhere at half the price. They just lost out on business. Called me a week later to return the loaner car that I never had?! Not too organized. Great place to buy a car but would never suggest servicing it here, unless of course it is covered. Andrea Kass is a top notch sales consultant! John Kunz sealed the deal and I was happy! I spontaneously walked in one Saturday and left with a contract. I cannot say enough about Andrea but thank God for a confident, strong woman that knew her job. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be sitting in my beautiful car. My overall experience with Helms bros was very pleasant. I'll adjust my rating to 5 stars after my first routine maintenance. The staff is attentive and professional from the moment you walk in. The showroom was spotless yet inviting. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Ronnie Dent. He never once try to sell or steer my interests. We went over some quotes and I let Ronnie know that this was my first but not last stop. I stopped over at Biener Audi and Silver Star Mercedes. My experience in comparison was night and day. After two weeks and a few quotes, I gave Ronnie a call. Responsive, straight forward and very personable. Showing me a picture of his lovely wife and letting me know he'll be taking his vacation days to move into a new home. I recollect saying i was willing to wait till he gets back from vacation leave and would only request to deal with him. Got the car, color and package i requested. Only complaint is where his desk is located, which is far back in a dark corner. Give the man some sunlight and exposure. read more

Very disappointed!!!! Bought my car in for Service A, at the time, my tire had a very slow leak. Told my rep to take a look. Next thing you know, my Service A was completed and I was told that there was a small nail in my tire. They fixed it without asking me (put in a plug and charge me $39). Fine, since it's fixed, but kind of expensive for just a plug!! After 2-3 weeks, the same tire was leaking air again....l been getting by for a few months by adding air to the tire. Finally, I decided to bring it back to the service department to have someone take a look as it was the same tire leaking again. Carmine was the Rep this time, he told me that there is another nail in my tire, he refused to repair the tire as he said there was already a plug there from the last visit. He told me I needed to replace the tire for $400!!!!!! I said no as I had only driven about 10K miles on the tire. He gave me a big story that it's not safe and told me to pick up my car. When the parking kid return with my car, the psi on that tire was 22 and my dash was red with the flat tire alert. How can they expect me to drive home with a tire with psi of 22???? When i got to the dealership, my tire psi was 34. I am very dissappointed at how I was treated......that's not right! I was very fortunate as there was a gas station on Northern Blvd and I filled up air in my tire and drove home. Next is even worse, i drove to my local tire repair guy the same day and when they remove the tire from the rim, there was no plug in the tire at all. It was nice and clean in there with the exception of that small nail. So they charged me $39 for a plug which wasn't even done the first time around, and on the second visit, wanted me to spend $400 for a small leak due to a single nail in the tire. read more

Newly redone showroom looks amazing. Just got my second Mercedes from Helms Bros with help from Michael Altamura. Mike knew my lease was up months in advance but stayed on top of every special leasing programs so that I would get the best possible deal. Not only did he get me a new car with more bells and whistles but I was able to lower my payment as well. I know this isn't typical but then Mike isn't a typical salesman. No pressure, no cheesy salesman lines. Just excellent customer service. The same goes for their service dept. Always courteous and professional. Love that they wash your car even if you only bring it in for an oil change...I know, it's Mercedes and that's the least they could do but you cannot play down such great service. Don't get fooled by the decent decoration and the way they talked to you. Here is my experience. Helms bro misdiagnosed my vehicle when it's still in warranty and is not taking responsibility for that mistake. When the problem of my car came up, engine light was on, everything shut down and I stuck on highway. I called one of friends who owns mechanic shop, he clearly told me one of position sensors is about to worn out and asked me to cool the car down. I waited 20 mins and successfully started car and everything back to normal. Drove back 10 miles to the Helm's Bro and clearly told service advisor the situation. Helm's Bro came back to me with oil pump leakage. Because it was in warranty, I let them take care of it. 1 month later, engineer light came back on and they just turned it off. 3 months after, when warranty expired, the weather became hot, same sensor problem came up again. Contact with advisor and Mercedes USA, No results. Mercedes USA kicked me back to dealership. Don't want to talk them anymore and can't trust this dealership anymore read more

They've always been very nice and professional. They are very accommodating and flexible, for example, I've had to cancel at the very last minute and they didn't seem annoyed. Or I've been really late because I would get lost easily and they were able to fit me in for a later time even though it required some rescheduling shuffling on their part. Sean Savage is my advisor, and he's very clear in explainin things, and answers questions without making me feel like they're stupid. The waiting area has a tv, nice places to sit, and a kiddie's area. AND FOOD! Bagels, donuts, granola bars, coffee/tea, milk, juices, etc! And a shuttle to pick up/drop off. Overall, they're pretty awesome. I'm not paying for just my car, I'm paying for really good service and they provide that. read more

Good dealer to stay away from. I called them to tow my car in because of a low battery warning. They sent an unlicensed ( as I later found out) tow truck company which took my car to their own place overnight, went through a toll with an EZ pass which had no money on it, and since my license plate was picked up by the camera, I got a violation for going through a toll without paying. Neither Helms nor their corporate division will do anything about getting me a letter from the MTA that it was an error and that I was not responsible. They "supposedly" paid the fine but my name is still listed as a scofflaw. Helms passes the buck to corporate and corporate will do nothing. Helms is the one who ordered the tow truck, and they should be willing to fix this. Since other Mercedes places in my area will pick up and deliver your car when service is required and Helms does not, this gives me one more reason to never use Helms again. read more

Told me this is to be expected when your car has a flat tire n you have to replace your tire. They didn't know my car was kept overnight at a tow truck company they used to picked my car up. My sales rep, Peter Fearon was very informative, helpful and walking me thru the process of leasing a vehicle since I have always purchased in the past. He was very patient in searching for the car we wanted going through the exterior/interior colors we were deciding between and options as well. He did not try to steer us towards what was convenient for him and did not have the car salesman annoyance factor at all. I have been a loyal customer at this branch for many years. Just got my car for replacing a broken window at this dealership and was told that they will handle the claim thru the insurance company and I will not be liable for the cost. The case was mishandled, they did the job and could not recover the cost from the insurance company. I ended up paying it from my pocket. I was not informed and did not get a chance to take it and replace it for half the price. The manager that I spoke too was not willing to split the cost or do anything at all. Very unpleasant visit to this dealership. Make sure that you get sign quote before you ok any work with them. read more
