We were in a pinch on a Saturday afternoon and needed a handyman ASAP. The two handymen we've used in the past didn't even answer the phone on a Saturday, let alone accept work. I'm grateful that Stan responded within minutes and arrived at our home a few hours later. We had sold our house a few weeks prior. We needed to be completely moved out in three days and got nervous when our movers told us that our TV's power cord was stuck inside the wall. I called and e-mailed several people in a panic but Stan responded quickly and with a sense of humor. Stan started with the most cost efficient solutions first and tried in earnest to fish the cord out of the wall. When we realized it was truly stuck, he walked us through our options. We decided to cut a small hole in the wall to free the wire from the crossbeam and insulation. Stan had everything he needed to cut a hole in the drywall, free the wire, and plaster the hole. He even cut a larger chunk out of the crossbeam to ensure that the next owner would not experience the same issue. He offered to come out the next day at no extra charge to texturize and paint the small patch after the plaster dried but I insisted I'd take care of it. I appreciate the fact that Stan stands by his work and even left me some basic tools to texturize the patch in the morning. He then helped us pack the TV into a box and load it into a very full van (full of all those miscellaneous items you forget about when you're moving). I hired Stan service through the TaskRabbit app to assemble some furniture and move some boxes after I've moved into my new place. Stan showed on time and did an excellent job with that. He his friendly but has difficulties with boundaries and can say things out of line. He is intrusive. For example, he asked me if he can put his drinks in my fridge to which I replied yes. Then he asked "are you a rabbit?, you have too many greens in your fridge". He likes to talk and seems very friendly, but he has a very particular view of the world and made several antisemitic comments. A few days later I I contacted him directly and this was a big mistake. The biggest job was to clean the deck and seal it. He did power washed the deck on a Friday. and asked what type of sealer I want. I said I like a clear light colored sealer. He said he has a friend and can get it for a lower price. On Monday he was supposed to arrive at around 3 pm and arrived at 5:30 pm without further notice. He asked if he can trim the trees in the front yard since he needs to trim some branches off the trees around the deck...I left for a couple of minutes and he cut half a tree.... my neighbor saw him pulling the branches with force down. He must be supervised like a nine-year-old boy because he has a mind of his own and he doesn't listen to instructions. He then started to spray painting the trellis...to which I asked if he was sure of the color..."oh yeah, it will get clear"....the sealer is an ugly 1980's Soviet Union taste beige color that has nothing to do with the house and I didn't choose. He left at around 10 pm with the promise to come back the next day. Two days have passed. He left the deck half painted, all the trimmings in my front and back yard. I've called him five times but there is no answer. He doesn't answer to my text messages either. Long story short: if you are a woman, hire him through an app so you will be sort of protected. Tell him exactly what you want and be very firm with boundaries. He doesn't listen to your requests, he knows better than you. I'm in a very tight schedule and I communicate this to him, but I was the little job on the side. He had bigger fish to catch. Update: I managed to talk to him in the phone. He blamed it on me for choosing the color, I heard sentences of "calm down" and he twisted the whole thing. He is a misogynistic and treats women badly. I feel completely drained after hired him. He offered to come by and take the ugly beige and mix it with something else since he is not going to get a refund. I don't want him near my property nor to speak with him ever gain. Unfortunately, I did pay the 393.18 he charged for the bad work trusting he will show up the next day, but he didn't. I have requested my money back several times and he refuses to pay back and to admit his mistake. Forget about apologizing. He is blaming me. Save yourself time, money and energy and hire a true professional. He is not stable. read more

We posted no lies. Stan was hired through Amazon Home Services and did not show up for two separate appointments. We had to have www.yourmechanic.com come do the job Stan was supposed to do twice. We asked Stan several times to cancel the Amazon Home Services order as he stood us up twice. This was his answer to us last night through Amazon messaging: "Remove the Yelp review and I'll cancel your order". That's extortion and it's been fully reported to Amazon. Contacted to have a door frame repaired. Initial communication was very good got the price, set up a time and then nothing. The time came around for him to show up but no-show, no call, no email. Left multiple messages to find out what happen on yelp also called the number provided and the only thing I got was a recording saying "talk" so I'm not even sure the number listed is the correct one. No response back. I'm assuming that the two positive feedback's left prior were planted. Very unprofessional would never recommend. read more

Stan was very friendly and down to earth.. he helped us fix some stuffs in our new home.. he is soo dedicated at his work and make sure things are done correctly. Terrible service. First appointment was missed because he had to help his wife with a car issue. I understand things happen so we rescheduled for 9:00am the next day. 9:20am and no one showed.
