Walking in I was greeted by a friendly woman, rude of me not to get her name but she was very helpful. Massage Addict is actually a membership based massage therapy location which long story short means $50 for a 1 hours massage. Yes you have to sign up for 12 months but you can leave at any point.. This location is actually pretty new. Nice decorated with a vibrant green wall when you first walk in which is very eye catching. Nice white leather coach to relax while waiting. Micheal actually gave me my massage and he was very good, very strong I did not know weather to cry or hug him. But the most important thing my back feels 100% better and this was my first one. I have already booked for March and I can not wait. Oh yeah they are starting the week of Feb 21 with Esthetics's services as well and the prices are very reasonable. I haven't had a lot of experience with getting massages (none in fact) but as a business these guys are solid. Friendly front desk staff, and the therapists are professional and friendly. I always walk out of there feeling a little more relaxed and a little less tense. The introductory rate can't be beat and the monthly membership is definitely a savings. I didn't find out until after that this is a chain (the McDonalds of massages if you will). The receptionist wasn't very friendly or helpful and the masseuse also showed little to no personality. I felt very much like the next person on the conveyor belt. The masseuse just didn't seem very friendly, the environment was cold. None of the people there seemed to like being there. Just seemed like a bad work environment which was reflected in the attitudes of the staff. The massage was okay. It was a little heavy handed and since I was there for an injury I didn't feel like the masseuse spent the appropriate time assessing the injury itself or talking to me about the pain. Any other massage I've been to they've really assessed what was going on before starting which made me sort of feel like the therapist at massage addict didn't really know what she was doing. I'd recommend going to one of the many locally owned smaller massage businesses in town where the masseuse cares about their work because it's their business.

Casaroma has their own line of health care products, using essential oils with subtle and soothing aromas. They even carry cold and flu remedies for a gentler approach to taking care of pesky ailments. The space was a little crammed with goodies, so not necessarily wholly inviting, but cozy nonetheless. I was greeted halfheartedly and not really offered assistance, but my cloud nine mood brought forth by the gorgeous day quelled any feelings of dissatisfaction. I took a brochure and peeked into a treatment room, which had a huge assortment of framed certificates on the wall. I prefer a simpler space to be treated in, but I suppose presented credentials is also appealing. I sniffed some lovely lavender soap and checked out mini Himalayan salt crystals. This shop is sweet and handy if you're commuting in or out of Dartmouth. The space was bright and the services plentiful. I don't think I'd choose to be treated here, but I definitely wouldn't hesitate to purchase one of their lovely little bottled products.

I learned that this place also has a focus on colon health, which seemed like sort of an odd combination, but it was nice to see that they are diverse in terms of their services. I don't have much experience with massage places (I've only had a massage once before in my life), so I was not really sure what to expect. Anna was really nice from the get-go, however, and when I told her my main discomfort is neck/shoulder pain (from sitting at a computer/desk all day - ah, SO bad for you!) she immediately showed me a great stretch and how to hold it. She asked details about where specifically I am feeling the tension and explained a bit about what might be the source, gave me some tips, etc. I immediately felt like I was in the hands of someone who really cared about my well-being - and this was before the actual massage. I'm not going to lie, the massage was painful at times - if you are a sensitive person I would not recommend Anna - but I also had a TON of major knots in my back and shoulders that needed to be worked out and that required some major kneading. Plus, I prefer a high pressure massage - I want to walk out of there really feeling like my muscles have been worked on. I could actually feel the knots coming out, which was good. You can tell when someone is a professional who knows exactly where pressure needs to go. All in all it was a great experience, and next time I want a massage I will definitely go back. Anna even said that we could work out a payment plan sometime, since I don't currently have a health plan. I thought that was a really nice gesture (there are very few places that will be that flexible when it comes to money). I hate using the phone even though I love talking! Web-based booking is fantastic and the system reminds you of your appointments as well. I had an appt with Lucy Vanden Brink, she is absolutely fantastic. We had a great consultation before the service and she really *heard* me when I said I am tender. She notices when I flinch or when I seem to tense up and she will check with me and change the pressure to accomodate me. I was sore after my first treatment but kept going back and am so glad I found her. She is taking a short bit of time off for Mat leave but I am glad she will be back! Praises are sung! I went in, 29 weeks pregnant (with twins) for a prenatal massage. While I've had lots of massages…read morebefore, I've never had a prenatal one. "Shadia" was my masseuse and I can, without a doubt, that it was the most impactful massage I've ever had. Location is great, lots of parking. Friendly greeting at reception, and the space is clean and bright. They endeavour to do direct billing with your health insurance, which is an added plus; if you'd like this, bring your information. The rooms are standard, dim and clean. For the prenatal massage they had a prenatal table, but we opted for the pad. I'm a bit of a blimp, as you can imagine, and Shadia just rolled with my awkward movements. The prenatal pad was very comfortable for me. The massage was excellent and needed. There were some tender spots, which needed more work for longer. This led to Shadia suggesting that if I come again, a 90 minute may be better. Because of all of the horomones pumping through my body, I'm just more sensitive than normal which means that to make an impact she needs to work longer in the same places. Unlike most massages I've had, we chatted through most of the massage - normally I wouldn't like this as I like to bliss out when getting a massage, but we had lots to talk about, so it was quite lovely. I'm sure I could easily request silence at another occasion. All in all I was just thrilled with the experience. I totally would encourage a prenatal massage to others, and I would definitely recommend Massage Experts Dartmouth based on my first time experience.
