I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but really it is not a good pediatric dentist…read moreoffice. TL/DR: my two children did not receive a welcoming experience, they made my son cry and upset me, the mother, and this office does not communicate well with themselves. First, my kids had awkward/stressful experiences there. My 8 year old daughter had expressed her nervousness to the assisstant that was about to do work on her teeth, and the tech merely squinted at her and said "...well I have to work on your teeth." Absolutely no reassurance for my child, just "well let's get it done." Luckily, she is used to the dentist and not that sensitive, but she noticed the way the tech treated her. It gets worse. My 5 year old son had his first appointment, and we even discussed this during his appointment that this is his first time. The assistant was very unprofessional. I mean REALLY unprofessional. My son simply wasn't ready to have someone clean his teeth yet, and the assistant insisted on trying to force him to get his teeth cleaned. My son was pushing her hands away and spitting out the toothpaste, to which the assistant seemed to have taken this personally and was telling my son to not spit at her. I tried to tell my son that he wouldn't get stickers if he couldn't let them do the work they needed to, because I'm mom and I can tell him that, however that ended up being a big mistake. To make things worse, and instead of just realizing he wasn't ready for a cleaning yet, she gets angry with my son's unwillingness to get his teeth cleaned, she tells him "Oh NO stickers for you!" The whiplash of how she changed her demeanor was so quick! My poor son bursted into tears, he didn't even care about the stickers, he just didn't want that lady around him anymore. I thought, "Wow lady, way to make your job harder!" I told her that was enough and we obviously needed to try again another time. I should have stopped her sooner but I was trying to give them a chance to be able to work together. I was so angry at the lady for treating him that way, I left and called back after chilling out a little bit and told them they are not to let that lady work on my son EVER. Funny enough I saw her again during my daughters second visit, and she couldn't even look me in the eye nor apologize. For descriptions sake because so you avoid her as well, she is the bigger black lady. I am bad with names and thats as simple as I can describe her. Unfortunately, I'm not even sure they will hold themselves to that, because they cannot even communicate properly in their office. What I mean is that this past week they've called me 3 times about my son's next appointment, 2 different people called at 2 different times. One woman had allowed us to reschedule for the next week. I received another call the next day from a different lady asking about my son's initial appointment time, to which I told her we already rescheduled. She said if we made the appointment for next week my insurance wouldn't cover it and we would have to reschedule for Sept. Now mind you we've had to change dentists over the years with moving, and I've NEVER heard of this. But I'm not worried because they said my son has no cavities so I'm in no rush to make him go back. I reschedule for September, and then the next day they call me and my husband about my son's appointment for the week that it was supposedly not going to be covered, when I had already rescheduled for Sept. There is so much wrong with this place it is certainly NOT worth your time or your kids mental peace. I can't believe this is a PEDIATRICS dentist honestly. We will never return and continue to warn parents about this place.

The staff clearly have a lot of experience working with little kids (and they love them!). My son…read moreloved the murals on the wall. I also loved how they worked with my toddler. Because my son wasn't totally comfortable having his teeth checked by the dentist while sitting in the chair, they had him sit in my lap and it worked great. They also appear to be pretty affordable and inclusive, and I believe they might have staff who speak Spanish (but call ahead to double check if needed).

I brought my two year old in for a dental check up, before I made the appointment I let them know ahead of time that my son was not comfortable and may scream. The receptionist said that was no problem. During the appointment, my two year old was screaming, as expected. Dr. Salamati then turned to me and said "Is he autistic?". Surprised by this question, I replied "no" as he has not been diagnosed nor screened for this. Continuing the appointment, Dr. Salamati, kept making the comment to my son "If you keep screaming, you're not getting a toy". This was said a few times. After the exam, she told my son "Since you screamed the whole time, you're not getting a toy!". After explaining the findings of the exam, she then turned to my son and said "OK! Are you ready to pick out a toy?!" I do NOT feel this interaction or type of communication is acceptable. This made me very embarrassed and uncomfortable I went back and forth making this review, but I feel it is necessary as a provider should NEVER make parents or patients feel that way. I am deeply saddened by this experience

Dr. Gonzalez provided thorough and high-quality prepping for a potential root canal with care that I truly appreciated. The only downside was that my insurance coverage wasn't clearly explained or broken down before services were provided, and the preparation process felt slightly unorganized. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience; the care was excellent, but clearer communication about insurance would make it even better.

During my appointment, two coworkers came over and chatted with him about growing a beard and other unrelated topics while he was working on my teeth. The "cleaning" lasted only about 6 minutes. He only flossed between two of my teeth and used the dental pick on just a three areas! He also didn't polish all sides of my teeth! It did not feel like a thorough cleaning at all, and my teeth still felt rough afterward. Very disappointing. I also had a very frustrating experience with my second appointment. I showed up only to find out they had forgotten to submit the referral I needed, so I couldn't even be seen and had to leave. I reminded the office about the referral multiple times, but they kept saying they forgot. It wasted a lot of my time and delayed the care I needed. Based on my experience, I can't recommend West Coast Dental in Hemet.

I was looking for a dentist for my daughter. I will be honest with you... I am a large man and when…read moreI read that last review... Whoa!!!! it scared me. We all love our children and don't want them to scream or be in pain but I just felt maybe this person had a bad experience or some other reason for thier visceral disgust. So, I thought I should check it out for myself. Here is my objective, unbiased view. GREAT! Complete total opposite of this other person. The place is clean, brightly painted with nice kid colors. There is a playstation in the waiting room and even though it was hard to figure out, MY problem, we still did and it was fun. The doctor was very friendly and professional and knew what she was doing. I would say very competent. There staff was good as well. Friendly and over and over called my daughter by her name! I LIKE THAT. On the chair, my daughter had a TV on the ceiling that she laid down and watched. At first I thought she just had music to relax to with the headphones but then I looked up and there was a tv, that made me laugh. What an idea that is. My daughter was truly distracted. I held her hand because I AM the whimp and I sure don't want her to feel ANY pain... you know? What parent does but she had no problem, no issues. She is not TRAMATIZED by the dentist visit. As a matter of fact... she had a small cavity and it needs to be filled. I asked the doctor if she was going to fill it today and she said no, we don't like to do that because we like the first visit to be a positive one so she is not scared of the dentist. Cause YES, I am sure filling a cavity is not a pleasureable experience. How could it be! So the other review... Yes, I know... scary but what can you do... has to be done. She will get gas when she comes back the next time to relax her and I will hold her hand again... and yes the doctor will have to drill... that is what needs to be done BUT there is no pavlov experience here... she has good feelings and good thoughs and was a positive experience so she is not scared to come back. VERY SMART!!! My daughter actually smiled and was proud of herself. They had a treasure chest and a new toothbrush she got... instructions on how to brush, toothpaste and a toy. Come mon... I am a big softy but what more can you do to make it easier for a child. Ahhh, yes, general anithesia but is that always safe to do all the time? No, there are big risks... some don't wake up. I liked her a lot. Nice person and knowledgable... friendly as her staff and the only thing missing from her office is Willy Wonka and his assistant Dora!!!! I would say not to be affraid and scared off by what the other person wrote. I had to check it out for mself. I can always walk out and say... nevermind but each step of the way in the process... I was more and more relaxed. Trust me... after the drama review... Yikes! I was really freakin nervous. If you read mine... please go and find out for yourself if you go or take the time to read this book. I just felt it was such an unfair review that I had to write something myself to set the record straight. Truly and honestly. Dr. Lin is our new daughters dentist, for sure. A very nice person and a beautiful office with truly competent staff who uses her name and is friendly... what more could someone want??? Geez. Thats all you need!!!

I could not go back to the room due to my pregnancy and that fact tha nitrous oxide gas was being used. Nitrous help calm nerves. I realized after the 10 min. this was my daughter screaming like this, so I ran back to the room and opened the door n dr lin had my daughters head between her knees while an assistant was holding my daughters hands down. I asked why she is in so much pain n she told me my daughter was just nervous, I asked to to stop the root canal, because something was wrong. I had never heard my daughter scream so loudly before so I knew the degree of pain she was in. I removed her from the dentist chair and took her out the dental office. When we got home she was shakning bad from her nerves feeling the whole procedure, of 15 to 20 minutes...not one time did she stop to ask my daughter if she was ok during her screaming and she was given only one anesthetic shot that did not work for my daughter at all, so her primary dr said usually when the 1st one doesnt work they can offer a second one in hopes to actually numb the area, come to find out my daughter felt the whole procedure of the drill n all. she shook for hours after because of her nerve endings and the pain recpetors in her mouth, she was never offered any other form of pain meds only 1 shot which did not numb her at all n even with a child screaming like my girl was she never gave her any other relief but to hold her down and continue drilling....I want everyone to be careful when letting your child go back there and ask for numbing meds like gas...that works like a charm. Shots do not always take effect the first time...My daughter is severly traumatized and never wants to see a dentist ever again,....n as a mom I feel horrible like I wasnt there to protect her from being hurt n she couldnt speak up to say im hurting becasue she was held down and never given the chance...so please be aware n careful....I wish she was offered another shot instead of continuing to drill her root with no pain meds...how horrible this must feel...as an adult I know this pain is horrible n my daughter is very tough as she can handle her immunization shots with no crying...and her original dentist she had 2 visits and 4 cavity filling and never cryed once...over pain..or his drilling of her fillings...IF YOU WALK INTO A ROOM AS YOUR CHILD IS SCREAMING BOOLY MURDER...YOU MIGHT WANT TO WONDER IF SHES NUMBED AT ALL..MORE THAN LIKELY IT IS NOT BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS NERVOUS...IT PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY R IN A WHOLE LOTTA PAIN...2010 November
