The front office staff is incompetent. First, when I tried to call to make an appointment, after 15 minutes on hold, I hung up since nobody got back on the phone. I called back, was placed on hold, and after another 5 minutes, I hung up and called back later in the day. The soonest they could schedule me is 3 weeks. When I showed up for my 2:00 appointment, there wasn't any staff in the front, so nobody even called my name until after I had sat there for 30 minutes. Then they tell me I need to have x-rays first; I was there for a new crown. They didn't look at my file and say I needed x-rays when I called, which I could have scheduled a lot sooner than 3 weeks out. Last year, they did the same thing about insurance approval. After 1 month, I kept calling their office because I had the insurance approval in a week, but the office never called me back to make an appointment. It took 5 weeks after my initial appointment before I could schedule the work to be done. The dentist I like is only there 1 day a week, so I guess it is time to do some dentist shopping again! Don't go here. Find a better dental practice. Plus, it took me 1 1/2 hours just to get x-rays and be seen by a dentist. read more

I would NOT recommend this dentist, worst dentist in Hemet. The orthodontist is only in once a month which is very inconvenient. I was not happy with the results and had to get braces for a second time after having them on for 3 years. They do a lousy half ass job and for once a month is ridiculous. The office staff were very nice. Office lacks decor - it's very outdated and unwelcoming. The dentist was kind. I thought it odd that the dentist was to do my cleaning, not a hygienist. I had the most painful cleaning ever. He used a drill-type apparatus and it zinged from the start. I've never had that for a cleaning at any other dentists. The front staff are unprofessional and rude! When my husband and I walked in the door, there was no one at the front desk, yet we could hear them talking and laughing in the back. After waiting close to 10 minutes, my husband finally called out for someone to get some help. Both girls walked out with mad looks on their face and gave us dirty looks. I don't know how they have a five star rating they must be giving them selves the rating. The dentist might be good but I can't even give him a chance. The front office is rude, they don't answer the phone and they don't want to do paper work. I have never been to a dentist where the front office tells the doctor it's time to go because it's time for her lunch in the middle of my visit. The staff was shorthanded today, nobody told me, I had to ask to find out. Instead of calling people with appointments and at least asking them if they'd like to reschedule they let everyone wait in the waiting room for over 2 hours. When I was finally seen the staff member brought me to a room and just left. No, "the doctor will be right with you" she literally said nothing and just left. When I was finally seen, now 3 hours later, I was told I have a few cavities and will be needing a cleaning. That's it. They then asked me to leave, since it was now 6pm and they were closed. Not only that, they were in such a rush they messed up this guy's fillings. Poor guy had to come back and wait an hour with the rest of us before being seen again. Don't believe these fake Yelp reviews. So, if you want to make an appointment, want to wait for 3 hours, be asked to leave but wait, make another appointment, and have your time wasted by all means this place is for you. read more

I would try and go somewhere else if you are able too. I have been here over the last 2 years and never waited shorter than 1 hour to be seen. The dentists working are great and super nice but the receptionists are lacking everything that would be seen as welcoming. My last time I came in, they informed me that they purposely schedule multiple people at one time slot (not sure why...). I was 15 min early for my appointment when I arrived and when it started peaking at around 1 hour after my scheduled appointment, I went and asked how much longer and they said it wouldn't be long. Then TWO people that came in after me (i could see on the sign in sheet), were let in before me- I walked out. No one should be treated or discriminated against like this. Sahara Dental is a place I highly recommend! I went there multiple times to get some cavities filled and also to get four of my wisdom teeth pulled out. The dentist did an incredible job, I was really nervous, but he made me feel really comfortable. The girls that work there are also very friendly. read more

I have been going to Sahara Dental for a while now, and I actually moved out of the area but decided to still keep coming here. On Tuesday, June 13th, I had an appointment for an annual checkup and for my front tooth that I thought was chipped. I believe I saw Dr. Jamal. He told me that the tooth was not chipped, that it was a filling that needed to be polished, and that I needed a cleaning. I asked if they could at least polish the tooth, and he said they'd need to check the schedule. At first, they were going to have me come back in two weeks, but I told them I came all the way from Indio, and they said he would polish my tooth. It came out perfect, and then he said he'd clean my teeth himself as well. I had plaque in between my teeth that I wasn't sure would come off, and he removed all of it! The dentist is rude as fuck. I have been here about three times now. The staff there is awesome and very friendly, but the dentist is another story. I don't know how many dentists work there, but I have met two of them. One of them, I could barely understand half the time because of her bad english and heavy accent. She was working on my mouth for about 25ish minutes and it was one of the worst experiences at the dentist I've ever had. She had me keep my mouth open as wide as possible for 20 mins straight and my jaw was killing me. I told her that it's way too long and painful to keep my mouth open that wide for such a long period of time, but she gave me no other choice. She said my mouth was too small. That came as a shock to me because in 27 years of going to the dentist, this is the first and only time a dentist has said there's an issue with my mouth size. None of my previous dentists have never had any issues. One of the reasons that it took over 25 mins was because she kept messing up with whatever she was doing and had to keep redoing it. Now there's my experience with the other dentist. I brought my 6 yr old daughter in because she was having pain on two of her teeth. She had an x-ray of her teeth and the assistant also cleaned her teeth. The dentist came a few mins afterward and said, "Your daughter is healthy." It was clearly in a tone as if she was making a statement, so my response was, "She's having some pain in..." and she cuts me off immediately and says again but with an attitude, "Is your DAUGHTER healthy?" I tell her yes, but that she's having some pain in two of her teeth. She asks me which ones and I tell her the bottom two in the front. Every response she has to me is with an attitude and with this look on her face as if she doesn't want to deal with us. She tells me there's nothing wrong with her teeth and I tell her again that she's having pain there. She then asks me, "Have you seen her teeth? These are new." I tell her that they aren't new and she says, "Okay. Come here. Look at them," as if I'm completely oblivious and have never even looked at my daughter's mouth before. She says again, "These are her permanent teeth, they are new." I told her that those teeth fell out over a year ago and have grown in a long ago. Then she says, "Well there's nothing I can do." There's a bit of silence afterwards cause I was waiting for her to follow up with anything, so I asked her, "Do you have any advice to help reduce the pain?" She then responded, "She can take pain pills." I just ended the conversation with an "okay." As someone who is very friendly and smiles a lot, for that dentist to be so rude right off the bat, that's enough for me to never go there again. read more

My husband and I both are patients currently at this office. We choose to cone here due to a past good experiences here. My husband has had temporarily crowns for over 2 months due to dental impressions continuously not bring accepted by the lab. On one visit, he refused service due to misinformation and the doctor was going to work on the wrong side of his mouth. The level of professional work and patient care is definitely not what we are used to, nor acceptable. However, due to where we are in our dental care, we cannot go to another dentist office. There is definitely room for improvement in quality of care and work integrity. read more

Everyone has treated me fantastically and the work is ultra professional. So far I have had cleaning and a filling re-do (from a different dentist) by Dr. Tran and a crown replacement by Dr. Jamal. Charity is a cheerful dental assistant and there are ambitious students (like Alison) learning the dental profession from a superb dentist. Please do not go here unless your into PAIN AND WASTING YOUR TIME. I went in to have a tooth extraction, still have the tooth after 3 visits. First you need a filling, then you need a cleaning. Always a different dentist who obviously don't communicate with be each other. Oh we're gonna save the tooth, ROOT CANAL, Then oh no we can't save the tooth, we're gonna have to pull it, but first let me put you through a very painful cleaning, oh that hurts???? Let me jab you four time real quick in your gum, put down the needle and proceed without giving time for the novacaine to take effect. You saw me squirming and crying but continued on as if I was not human. Then decided it was best to just go faster to get it over with. Horrible service! I am so upset with the service this office has given us. I brought my 13 yr old son in for a root canal the wait was absurd. Came back a second time same problem. Got a third appointment the root canal was fitted wrong and it was too big. They did not give me a return appointment this was almost a month ago. My son still has not got his crown. I call they never answer the phone. I leave messages they never return my call. I call during business hours and if I'm lucky they answer and they don't know what's going on and put me on hold for my entire 30 minute lunch . They don't ever come back to say anything. I'm forced to hang up and they still never call back. I am going to report them. This is crazy. I'm sure they billed my insurance already and the work is not even finished. read more

This doctor has no idea whats going on his clinic. My sister has been over to this office at least 6 times getting measured for partial dentures. The first time they lost all the molds and this time after being molded again the teeth were absolutely incorrect. We had to walk out of this office it was so bad. The assistants just giggle in the background like its a joke. Its been 4 month just to complete the partial dentures and root canals. Re-evaluate your facility and how business is done and tell your assistants to stop playing games and be professional. The waiting is horrendous 2 hours of just sitting. read more

Let me first say that I have always HATED going to the dentist. I get so tense and nervous. It was no different when I first arrived at Sahara Dental but Dr. Jamal and his staff have been so wonderful. I can't say enough about how friendly and how great the quality of work that they do. I have had a lot of work done here.....cleaning, extraction, root canals, fillings, and porcelain crowns. All I can say is WOW! I am so blessed that I found this Dentist. Although I still cringe at the thought of having to have work done, I'm not worried because I know I'll be in good hands. Dr Jamal has the best bedside manner I have ever experienced from a dentist. He really takes the time to understand your concerns and is very clear about his intentions and plan. PLEASE READ BEFORE GOI MY HERE ! This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any business. The doctor was 40 mins late to start I sat in the lobby and was not called back till almost two hours after appointment time, then the doctor was beyond rude to her assistant making it so uncomfortable, the doctor than began being rude while she had her hands in my mouth telling my to put my chin up and head to the right over and over and my chin was back and head to the right as far as it could go. Then when she took her hands out of my mouth and I explained to her my chin can't go back any further she said if I didn't say it nicely to her she threatened to stop working on me. I told her how rude and uncomfortable this whole situation was she than looked at her assistant and told her I'm not finishing. Mind you I had a open tooth so she quickly stuffed it and said you can leave. I told her I would be contacting my insurance provider and writing a review she said "go ahead". I left the office in tears and worse pain then I went in. I was in shock. Please please believe me when I say I don't complain much about things I overlook a lot but this was a horrific experience. Came in as a first time patient needing emergency tooth removal of two broken wisdom teeth ,I was in allot of pain! The staff was great and put me at ease right away!! Jill took care of my paperwork and insurance she was super upbeat, and answered all my questions. Charity was gentle with the X-rays and made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Tran was amazing, she pulled both teeth right away with no pain and she was thorough, I felt better right away! Laura was great, everyone was positive, lots of smiles! I left with a prescription for the tooth infection and pain! Most positive experience at any dentist ever! All of that as a walk-in patient too! Nothing against the Doctor's or the assistants because they are great but the front desk have no idea what they are doing very poor management!! First off when I'm told to be expecting a very serious procedure (wisdom teeth removal) and I'm told you'll be getting it done on this day mind you she was on the phone I expect it to be done on the day I was told. So I show up and all for the doctor to tell me that if they would've shown him the x Ray's it would've been a no and normally they show him before hand so I get sent to a specialist. Not an apology or anything as if its just another root canal or something. Definitely will not be returning! read more

Me and my husband both had horrible experiences here. My husbands first appointment, he left work early, got there on time, waited for an hour for them to tell him they were too behind and to reschedule. It happens, so he did reschedule and he came back a second time, left work early, got there on time, for them to do the same thing. I called and complained and they got him back in and did a "deep cleaning" in all of 10 minutes on his teeth. When I confronted them about the speed and likely half ass job of the cleaning they explained to me that "Its because when a dentist cleans your teeth they know what they're doing and a hygienist doesn't, thats why they take longer and the dentist is so fast.". HAHAHA ok. They also told him he had FIVE cavities, so we went back in for his filling appointment and after waiting for over an hour we walked out and decided to go to a different dentist, even though our insurance didn't cover it, thats how bad the experience was, we were willing to pay out of pocket to go somewhere else. Heres the kicker, when he saw the other dentist he said HE DIDNT HAVE ANY CAVITIES and not only had Sahara Dental wasted his time and not cleaned his teeth at all, they wasted our money. this place is an unorganized scam filling fake cavities and collecting the insurance checks. I wouldn't even recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

I originally got a cleaning here , they did a half ass cleaning, not even spending 2 minutes on attempting to clean my teeth plus the water was all splashing up on my face my glasses got soaked. So I gave them a second chance, I came the next week for my fillings and it was an extremely rude female dentist that didnt even confirm with me what type of filling they were doing. She was very rude to the assistant as well. The NEXT day my filling pops out and I call and a rude woman tells me that I can only come in as a walk in. I come in to get my filling repaired and these rude ass b's in the front desk don't even acknowledge I'm there and continues her conversation, intentionally trying to be rude. THEN they make me wait like 2 hours. It was a male dentist this time his first day there I think and as he's drilling a piece of the drill head falls in my mouth and I almost choke!!! The dental assistant was all making a joke of it "You have great reflexes!".....The f??? At the end of it the B's in the front desk maliciously say with a bitchy smile "SORRY WE MADE YOU WAIT" ....SCREW this place!!
