**Avoid This Place at All Costs - Absolute Nightmare Experience** I paid thousands of dollars to this office 8 months ago to get 4 FRONT crowns placed, expecting professional care and quality work. Instead, it has been an absolute disaster from start to finish. When I got the crowns put in, the dentist didn't even bother to come back in afterwards to inspect his work. And never gave me a follow up appt. to inspect his work. Then, one of my crowns fell out. The same day they put a temporary in it fell out. Then, when I saw the dentist to be fitted for a new crown he said I would have to pay for it so I said, "I just paid for this 8 months ago!" He sarcastically said, "Sorry." So I walked out. Then, THAT temporary fell out. When I went back into the office to have it put back in a receptionist put it back in and "fixed it". When I left I was appalled by her "fix" and had to cancel everything in my life and decided to not go into public until I got my new crown. I had to go to a new dentist to get the temporary put back in AGAIN. When I called to negotiate and get this resolved, I was told that both the dentist and the office manager are "away and unavailable" for the next 10 days. So I am literally left sitting here with a deformed temporary tooth, zero support, and $1,200 down the drain. I use to have this dentist in the past and they were always expensive and high pressure to upgrade. Last visit in August 2022 was the same and a very bad experience. I went in for two root canals and he wanted to do both left and right side which was a mistake especially since they use a rubber barrier which can give a panic attack, which I never had experience before. I had Delta Dental Ins but they were still able to charge me $100 on a fee the receptionist could not even explain. Come to find out code D3331 is a obstruct fee that many dentist use to get additional money from the patient... Many dentist abuse this code even though they are still making thousands from the insurance companies. He and his assistant also did not ask me if I took my meds since I have a heart condition... I did fill out that section in there forms before the proceedure... Another red flag. The outcome: I fired him and had another local dentist finish up with great success! Too bad I didn't check the reviews for this place before being seen. My insurance company assigned me to this office and wow! Office staff is rude, not helpful, and inconsiderate. They really do bill incorrectly on purpose to try and squeeze as much money out of your pocket as possible. I have never seen a bigger scam than this place. AVOID this place at all costs, otherwise it will cost you! I will be submitting a complaint to the dental board. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE I went in for an exam , the dentist explained in detail what i needed and the lady in the front came in and gave me the estimate on what i needed done. Front office was welcoming and polite except for a young lady that rolled her eyes and proceeded to take a phone call and completely ignored me when i had a question. I felt very overlooked at that moment then when i decided to get treatment my assistant joana the most disrespectful by far ! My husband's insurance says we have to go here, we'll be changing that asap. He's had an abcess tooth & has been trying to get into see the dentist & 1 day he finally gets off work early (Friday) we get there at about 12:15 & they're closed. We figure they're at lunch. Wait till just after 1:00 & try calling their # , call the emergency # they have & get told " Oh, we're closed Wednesdays & Fridays - Saturdays & sundays" ...WTF?? How do they even stay in business?? This is a mixed bag for me. My first encounter was very welcoming and Dr. Plaintano performed my root canal and did an excellent job about six months ago. I came in today for another root canal, same warm friendly greeting from the front desk but I guess Dr. Plaitano was not having a good day. He had an attitude and stated that he would like to be somewhere else too. he asked me how I am doing and I said ok, no one is ever happy going in for a root canal and it seems that was the tone for this visit. I felt sharp excruciating pain and I did jump and verbalized as best I could that I was in pain he seemed to ignore it and proceeded. The pain was very sharp and continuous. He became upset that I was experiencing pain and said he could be somewhere else and calm down, you can't be feeling that kind of pain. First of all, I have a very high tolerance for pain, I was in severe pain for 3 weeks waiting to be seen by him for my first root canal, I took Tylenol and continued to care for my grandkid and work my full-time job while being in this pain. So when I say it was excruciating it was. He tried to belittle and shame me for experiencing pain. He acted as though he was doing me a favor, I walked out without him doing anything else to me because I wasn't going to continue to sit there while he went on speaking rudely and condescending to me. So, like I said it was a mixed bag for me, I guess your experience there will depend on the mood of the dentist. Will, I go back "NO". I went in on a coupon for $39 to have consultation, x-rays, and teeth cleaning. Dr seemed really nice. Everyone seemed really nice. However, they told me my teeth cleaning would cost $199 because I needed an antibiotic. So I did not do that, told them I had insurance, which they then billed without my consent. Just got a bill in the mail for $80 from my insurance company because they won't cover the x-rays. They were also to give me a quote. I called and was told to come right over to get it. When I got there she said it wasn't ready and the person with the quote was in a consultation with someone else and I had to wait 15 minutes if I wanted it. She also made me wait while she took a phone call which lasted about five minutes. And I told her I was in a hurry as I was on my way to my regular dentist and I needed the quote. Very rude and refused. I then went to my other dentist and explained the situation and they called to get the x-rays and was told that I had to pay a $20 fee. That is against the law. So they are basically all about the money and a bait and switch policy. Do not go there! read more

The dentist's office is my fear factor. I had been a patient here years ago & switched to San Jacinto Smiles due to an office oversight. I switched back and now regret it. A dental assistant used too much pressure on my permanent crown causing me so much pain the dentist said I need a root canal. This is unacceptable to me. Then both "professionals" walked out of the building! All I needed was my temporary crowns switched for permanent crowns. I cannot return next week nor do I want to pay for additional appointments. the only reason I am giving one star is because you have to. this dentist is unprofessional, discourteous, and they have no problem overcharging you, whether they fix your problem or not. I went there and they tried, but were unable to fix my teeth, and still charged me $81 over my insurance coverage. I went in for tooth pain, and discovered I needed a crown and root canal. The staff and dentist were friendly, which is why they got 1 Star. The office tried to charge me over $700 for the procedure which is 100% covered by my insurance. When I questioned it I was told that they don't cover all the different medical codes. When I compared the codes they provided to the codes/co-pays provided by my insurance, I discovered they were attempting to charge me for things that had no co-pay. You poor people on HMOs! You will be lied to here. If you have a PPO, you better find a better dentist! Do get a second opinion if they tell you you need SRPs (aka a deep cleaning) or if they tell you that you need a crown. Don't let them do a root canal on you! The dentist pierced my husbands sinus and he had a 3 month infection and bills for a specialist. The sad thing is they also fail to tell you when there is a small cavity and wait until it gets to a size they can crown which pays them more. A poorly shaped crown results in bleeding gums, bad breath, and future problems, and they don't do a good job. They will also quote you one price and then when you come in for the work tell you you need to pay a whole bunch more money. The front office people are "sales" people and will pressure you to do work even telling you they will kick you out of their practice if you don't schedule the treatment they "recommend!" It would be worth it in the long run to have an honest practice and just pay out of pocket. You will end up paying more here even with insurance and have very poor work done. read more

2015...The dentists who purchased Hemet Smiles unfortunately are not in dentistry for patient care, but for the money. Deep pocket cleanings are easy money for dentists as are crown replacements. IF you go to a highly qualified, honest dentist (hard to find in this area) you will discover you probably don't need either one of those treatments, as I found out. Hemet Smiles cannot be trusted, at all. I upgraded my dental insurance, which got me away from the HMO dentists and I found a local dentist who got high marks in a well known dental college and has HIGH integrity. I pay more in insurance premiums but I am not getting procedures I don't need. By NOT using Hemet Smiles, I saved myself $2,000.00! read more

Absolutely the best dental experience I've had! Dr. Younesi and his staff were amazing! From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable and are greeted by the office manager Nannette who is very warm and friendly and explains things well. The assistants are friendly and work quickly. Dr. Younesi is so gentle, I couldn't even feel that he had already started the procedure and constantly checks and asks if you are doing ok. By far the best office I've been to in the valley. Unfortunately, our long time favorite dentist, Dr. Bryant has retired and the doctor who took over is not conservative at all. She would have replaced every crown and filled every tooth if I had the time and money. In the end, when I requested the xrays (full mouth set which my insurance paid $152 each for my husband and I on 12/26/13) they were "not set up to email" (who is not set up to email??) and charged me $10 each for a print out (of xrays...) Useless. I found a new dentist who informed me that by law I am entitled to one copy of my records, either print or digital, free. To be fair, Hemet Smiles mailed the printouts without a bill. When/if it arrives in the mail, I will go in there with the evidence of my rights. Too bad because we followed Dr. Bryant when he moved to Hemet from Murrieta. It is true that the girls in the front and the female hygienist in back are wonderful. The staff was great... However the dentist wasn't very good at all.. he just wanted to be done and over .. I took my child in because they had a small abscess and when he saw they needed oral surgery he just left the room... and the assistant tried obviously to smooth over the end of the visit... when I asked about antibiotics we were dismissed and then the next day my childs abscess was worse... MY CHILD SHOULD HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTICS!! I will NOT be taking my child back here or recommending this dentist.. Which is VERY sad because the entire staff was amazing!! read more

Not a good experience. One tooth in an upper bridge broke after 2 years. I was told I needed to replace both the upper and lower bridge because of faulty materials used and poor alignment and this would cost me $4,000. The previous dentist Dr. Bryant did the initial work. The new dentist took the "Hemet Smiles" name, but refused to accept liability - as did Dr. Bryant who said he could not legally have contact with former patients . I used Care Credit/Synchrony Bank to finance this again, however they would not help me with this issue to reduce the cost. In essence, I paid twice for the same service. I would beware using either of these businesses. Ethics apparently do not concern them. read more

I use to go to the best dentist, but my insurance changed so I had to choose a new dentist and went with Hemet Smiles, I never had a bad experience until I let them do work on my teeth. I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned and since it was my first time there they had to do x-rays, well they never cleaned my teeth because they said I had to wait 45 minutes to an hour, so I had to make another appointment to come back. I came back and they numbed me because I also needed an inlay and they were also going to clean my teeth. There was some miscommunication and the hygienist thought the dentist was going to do my inlay first. Once he realized he needed to clean my teeth first, he rushed and used some drill to clean in between my teeth, it was painful the whole time and I kept bleeding. Then the dentist finally came and did the start of my inlay and they put a temporary piece until my inlay was made. Well in 2 weeks I came back to get my inlay put in and they spent 45 minutes digging out this temporary piece they put in my tooth, which did not feel too good. So, the dentist came in and was going to put the inlay in and told the hygienist that it wasn't my inlay, so they did all that work on my tooth without making sure they had "my" inlay, so basically the dentist had someone else's inlay in my mouth to see "if it would fit" and then put it back in its case. I feel like its very unsanitary because that is someone else's inlay that will be going in someone else's mouth. read more

I was a long time patient at Hemet Smiles. It saddens me to have switched offices this past month. They billed my insurance under wrong plan code I believe costing me and my insurance more money. Office staff Manette will defend every wrong move and not answer your questions but side step around them. She will not return calls despite her saying she will. I was given wrong information about my insurance so I called them for correct info. The insurance company stated I should call dentist office back to report correct info so I did and Manette still insisted I was wrong, all I got from her is that she has been doing this for 20 yrs and she should know. The current dentist told me I needed 4 crowns. WRONG. My new dentist stated my teeth looked good and my old fillings were holding up. How can there be such a discrepancy between dentists? If possible always get a second opinion! That would have been costly, terribly inconvenient and completely unnecessary. Shame on you Hemet Smiles!!!! Now last but not least. Hemet Smiles wants to do X-rays every 6 months. Wrong again. If you have dental problems ie. cavities, oral disease or other symptoms fine but completely unnecessary if you are an adult in good dental health. In fact the ADA(American Dental Association) recommends only 2-3 years b/w bitewing x-rays. ADA states good dental health patients do not need x-rays annually and can go a decade between full mouth x-rays. Hemet Smiles refused to clean my teeth because I refused x-rays. Most dental offices have a waiver you can sign. I have a credit at Hemet Smiles which they have yet to refund stating I walked out of the office. I walked out of the office because they refused to clean my teeth. Do not be pressured about x-rays. There are studies out from over the years discussing accumulative effects of radiation and the overuse of x-rays in all capacities. Brain tumors and dental x-rays. I just lost my 52yo brother-in-law to a brain tumor. Google the ADA and read about how dentist offices may be overdoing x-rays to improve their bottom line. It is a good money maker for dentists. I believe Hemet Smiles was recommending treatment I did not need. Good money for them but bad for me. It does not sound like they put the patient first. I highly recommend finding another dentist more willing to work with the patient not against them.
