We went to see "Michael" at Cinemark Cut theater in Cypress…read more The theater was nice, I bought tickets a week in advance and selected our seats at the next to the top row. We also had the seats that vibrated with the music and also had heat. We didn't need the heat of course. Bar and food service was good, we got snacks and drinks to enjoy during the movie. Still full from lunch so mostly drinks. Servers were attentive. There was a button on the chair if you wanted service. The movie was really good. I got nervous when a group of younger kids filed in and proceeded to sit in the very top row behind us. Not nervous about them being kids but they were a lively bunch, from a birthday party. Great idea to have a party at the movies. Bad idea to have it at this kind of movie. Before the movie started, we heard "hee hee" an unhealthy amount of times. We sat through about half the movie and they got restless. Standing up, talking, moving around. I complained (rang the food buzzer) and the worker said someone already complained and the manager has addressed them. They will address them again. I reported it again when I left and got the nicest email today with points to go see another movie. Thank you Michael with Cinemark guest services!! Underpromised and overdelivered. I will give you another chance. You redeemed yourself. I wasn't looking for anything, I just wanted them to address the issue and acknowledge our experience. The tickets were not cheap and we deserved to see the movie in peace. Maybe they should monitor the theaters periodically and proactively try to avoid these situations where others are being disruptive.

Seats...more like the living room furniture I wish I had as they recline fully, are heated, and so big you could take a nap on them. WAKE Up AND WATCH THE MOVIE!!!! Running Man ROCKED BTW...highly recommend. The food...it's a theater...what did you expect? We got the truffle chicken fries which were somewhat edible. I assume the fries were crispy at one point...but soggy, saggy, sad, and cold by the time they reached us. My beer came out promptly. My wife's accompanying glass of wine waited to make a fashionably late appearance 20 minutes later. RUNNING MAN ROCKED!!! Though I do love a theatre experience, I could have had better drinks, better food, and still been just as happy sitting in front of the fireplace wrapped in a blanket and watched it at home on my ridiculously too big TV. Still. Wife was happy to get out of the house having no kids for the night. Tickets were free. Theatre was close. We had a good time overall. Service was pretty prompt. Of course in all the seats available, the 2 gentlemen next to us who ate nothing but chips, burped, and talked throughout the entire movie only exacerbate my love for my quiet couch. No knock on the theatre as they cannot control the mouth breathers that had to sit right next to us in a relatively open theatre...read the room people. Rock solid 4 stars.

It's always a pleasure supporting small local theatre! I came to the River Oaks location to watch…read moreNo Other Choice (10/10 film btw) since it was screening on the first week of January. Tickets were on the pricier end especially since it was a Thursday night, but not a big deal. The workers were friendly, and the seats were EXTREMELY comfortable & cushy... I still think about them to this day... I also thought it was nice how movie viewers could order food and the workers would come serve it on a platter! I'm not too familiar with any deals or memberships that the River Oaks Theatre may have compared to its big name competitors, but I highly recommend everyone to experience a film here at least once! Also there is ample parking nearby, but can't speak on it too much since I was dropped off.

I loved the OG River Oaks theater and am happy to patronize the new theater that's taken its place…read more Service is good. It's a beautiful space. The programming has been solid. I have removed 1 star due to the unfortunate experience I had via their expensive hotdog. This is a warning to everyone here.. the banh mi hotdog tastes like a**. omgagod... it literally tastes like evil. I have never had anything like it, and I've eaten at dozens of Vietnamese restaurants in my life. It's not only the pickled veggies on it that seemed to have marinated in something really awful, but it's the weird smoked? flavor given to the hotdog. I considered sending it back but opted to just make the best of the movie. Do you like the hotdog? If so I'd like you to post an opposing review because I can't imagine someone enjoying it. And since I am here... I get the gratuity is included but the wait staff never came back to clear dishes, and maybe it's because they will only come if you press the button? If that's the case it was not communicated to us, and when the wait staff went by us to serve our neighbors maybe it would be a good practice to check in quickly with other people in the row while they're there? That's it. Will return. Will never order hot dog again.

I want to give a full-throated endorsement of this business, especially as a Downtown Bryan…read moreresident, yet I have serious reservations. 1.) This historic venue deserves better historic interior decor. I recognize the current owners didn't make the renovations to the space, but as a single screen venue...it should feel special, distinct and one-of-a-kind experience from front door to lobby to theatre. It doesn't. 2.) The online website and programming of what's on screen is not extra special. First run films are better left to the cineplexes. This space would suit a well-curated art house, classic cinema, and rarely seen films for a large swath of audiences in the Brazos Valley. I live right around the corner and the 50th Anniversary screening of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon was the first film since their launch (in current iteration)...it was fun to experience on a large screen. 3.) What is unclear from the online presence is that food can be served to your seat. I looked extensively in the sight but this was not evident to me until we arrived. The menu is very pedestrian, burgers, greasy fries and more fried things, and standard salads. Again, nothing special or unique. 4.). Why are tickets for future screenings unavailable since they are already advertised? Also, there was a lot of noise in the lobby during the film and the house lights did not come up after the film concluded. I WANT to support a local one-screen experience Downtown, but how I miss the reopening days of this place when it was diversely curated and a human being sat in the ticket booth to welcome you into the Experience of The Queen. Her uniqueness is not being capitalized upon, regrettably.

When we got there, the concession line was really long. I didn't see the restaurant located to the right. I started ordering from just the few items in the concession menu, and I just happened to ask the girl about a burger and she said those were restaurant items, but I could order with her. We ordered wings, hot dogs, fries, and icees. It took the food about 20 minutes to come out plus the 10 minutes I spent in line. We missed 30 minutes of the movie. They need to get with the times and provide in seat ordering and , not only will they get more revenue, but people won't waste time ordering and waiting for food. Not worth coming here when Cut by Cinemark and Star Cinema offer in seat ordering

Also they currently have a promotion going on til Christmas where if you buy $50 in gift cards, you get $10 card for the concession stand (not sure when u can use this $10 card).
