This place is as not the same since the last time I have been. It went downhill! My seat was broken so I switched with my brother in law lol. The popcorn was served in a small silver bowl. Wth I felt like I was eating at home i could have just brought my own bowl. The nachos were not good and over priced. I would much rather just go to AMC! Meh would not recommend.

Upon entry, I was greeted by an energetic manager-type wanting to scan my ticket purchase QR. I was waiting for a friend to arrive, so I went to the bar to see my options. 2:45 PM on a Saturday, the bar staff was tending to BTS duties and I had to wait for her to appear in the bar. Very nice, polite, and professional; she was happy to answer all of my questions. The new decor since the name change is beautiful. In the theater, the seating has been upgraded with better chairs and individual trays for your food and beverage. Theater staff was friendly. Sweet potato fries were good. The Balsamic Feta Flatbread was good. Overall, a good experience.

I am excited to see Thunderbolts! I went to Star cinema grill in Missouri City. I used to frequent this theater when they opened more than 10 years ago. But haven't been back for a while since now there are theaters closer. The inside has gotten a facelift and yes new furniture in the waiting area/bar. The bad is mostly the same, but they do have new/additional types of liquor. I tried the drink they are promoting, thunder punch. I have to say it was GREAT! But, @ $15.00 it should be!! The large popcorn is $10.00 and define not worth buying! It was cold and a bit stale! My pet peeve for theaters is cleanliness and this one was clean. The power reclining chairs are great! Unfortunately, mine had to be out of alignment it makes a loud rubbing noise when in use. BYW the movie is dope, remember to wait for the end of the credits! Yes, like for all MCU movies! Spoiler alert there are 2 peeks after the movie ends. GN3

The staff were very available, accommodating and polite. The food was very good. The movie was great. The seats were very comfortable. I needed a blanket because it was cold. But I forgot to bring one. First time visitor. Great experience.

What happened to this place? It's really gone downhill. We ordered a small popcorn and it was served in a tiny silver bowl which definitely wasn't the case the last time I came. Our nachos were a sad excuse for nachos. One of our seats was broken and the cup holder was nasty. Service was fine, but nothing memorable.

I dont think I have ever visited here before, but maybe way way back in the day? As you walk in, there's a large stretch of hallway as you get to the indoor ticket counter. I had already purchased online, so check-in was easy. Then you go deeper inside, and there's all the theaters. Came here to enjoy a matinee movie with my old man for his bday. Oppenheimer, the movie was great, would recommend. This theater is deceptively larger than it looks. It has a large bar and tables to sit and enjoy before or after a show. Once you arrive at your designated theater, there's comfortable plush seats that recline. One can press a button for servers to order food/drink while you enjoy the movie with a large table infront of the seats. We didn't get a menu beforehand. I guess we were supposed to look online beforehand? Not sure. But the server was patient, as I verbally asked for suggestions and offerings. Drinks - I ordered a mango Rita for myself, and it was delicious. And I ordered a cherry Icee for dad. About $20 for both. Overall, great experience, I would come back.

The long entrance to the ticket booth gave me a feeling from the movie the shinning. But that doesn't matter. We had a great time and it was my son's first experience at a theater. We ordered popcorn (in a bowl) pizza/wings and drinks and the food was good. The service was great and the theater was comfortable. One suggestion I would make is to pack a blanket. Cause it gets cold. Thank you Star cinema for making my 6yr old son's first theatre experience a great one.

Ask the Community - Star Cinema Grill

Can you recline your seats all the way?

Yes, fairly far back but not to a laying down position. There is plenty of pace between each row so the person in front of you doesn't get in your space when they recline too.

Can you reserve seats in advance? Can you use Fandango there for seat reservations?

Hi, you can reserve seats online on our website starcinemagrill.net but we are not available on fandango.

Are the seats recliners? For all star cinema grill or just the one in Missouri ciry?

Yes they are. All seats in every auditorium is a luxury leather recliner.

The welcoming team was friendly from the moment we walked in, and the bartender was wonderful. Even though they were out of every wine I asked for (seven different selections!), she really tried her best to find something I'd enjoy. The only wines available were bottles at a much higher price point, which was disappointing. I'm still wondering what happened to their wine selection. Hubby did enjoy a nice cold beer served in a frosty glass, and that was perfect. Dinner was actually pretty good. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the lobster mac and cheese was tasty, although there wasn't much lobster to be found. Now for the theater itself... The seats are definitely showing their age and are getting a little rickety. Service was almost nonexistent. The one bright spot was a food runner who kindly pointed us to the QR code for the menu and even offered to bring us a printed menu. He was great. We ordered our movie snacks, but that's where things really went downhill. The popcorn was as stale as stale can be, the M&M's tasted old and a little funky, and somehow my club soda came with about four ice cubes and wasn't even very refreshing. The movie itself was good, and we still enjoyed having a much-needed date night together. Overall, though, it's sad to see this theater slipping because it used to be the place to go. I really hope they can turn things around. In the meantime, we'll be on the hunt for a new favorite theater. I'd love to hear everyone's recommendations!

I've only been here twice and had a great time. Everyone is super friendly with good food, good service and afforable prices. As you approach Lone Star there's patio seating in front of the restaurant. You'll enter through a large, blue arch doorway with stained glass and 2 large Texas stars on each door panel. Very Texan feeling. The interior decor resembles an old saloon with lots of wood, tall 4-top tables and soft lighting. Unfortunately, the tables are not very conducive for wheelchairs. The bar area is U-shaped with many seats and friendly bartenders. There is a second floor that can be reserved and 2 pool tables for your enjoyment. Moving on to the food. Lone Star has an affordable daily $5 lunch menu Mon. - Fri. 11am - 4:00pm with 6 selections on the lunch menu. All include a side & choice of tea or soda. The $5 selection includes grilled cheese, 1/2 chicken or tuna salad, a hot dog, chicken tender combo, a grilled chicken Santa Fe plate or 5 wings combo w/5 sauces. I selected the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and house salad. The chicken salad sandwich was served on lightly toasted healthnut bread with crisp lettuce & a sweet tomato. The chicken salad was good and ran on the sweeter side which I don't mind. (FYI, no egg, thank you). The generous portion of salad was excellent with fresh tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and onions with the lettuce chopped on the smaller side which I find much easier to eat. I also ordered a small order of homemade onion rings ($1.99). They were very tasty with the texture of onion strings. I would order all again. For entertainment they have live music on certain nights and a bar version of Bingo on Wednesday nights. I heard the Bingo is tons of fun. Check out their website for details. I'm sure I'll be back during one of my next visits to Rosenberg/Richmond. Hopefully for live music or Bingo night.

He did a phenomenal job, and was patient in explaining how to make it fun and fair for everyone. There were about 12 of us, so everyone got to have an interactive part and work on solving the mystery. It would be a ton of fun for any size group, and probably could get a lot more challenging too. The mystery wasn't easy to solve, either - so don't think that it's boring or a giveaway! The props that were used helped really make it easy to identify each character, and there was also a good amount of time to stop and figure out what you had learned as you investigated the murder. Our event was at a great local restaurant that had a private room, which was ideal: everyone is laughing and super silly, so it's essential to know that you can have fun and not be annoying other patrons nearby. I would recommend this for ANY age group. I read their website, and they can easily accommodate children if needed. Also, they even offer a non-murder option theme!! They've thought of everything. OVERALL GOOD-My family took me here to celebrate my birthday. Let me start by describing the meal…read moreand service. The first course was a fresh mixed greens salad. At the table, there was only a raspberry vinaigrette dressing to top the salad. It was good, but had berry seeds that were a little off putting. The rest of my group would have preferred a second dressing option such as ranch. When booking, you could choose chicken, fish or vegetarian. We all had the chicken. It was a beautiful plate of assorted roasted vegetables and potatoes topped with grilled chicken. The vegetables were a bit overcooked but were still tasty. The chicken was seasoned, but it could have used a bit more seasoning for my taste. Another guest at our table had the vegetarian option, a grilled cauliflower, and it looked delicious. They served iced tea, water, and there was a cash bar. They were slow to refill the water & iced tea glasses. I might suggest a pitcher of water at each table. The dessert course was a very good creamy chocolate mousse with fresh fruit & a crunchy cookie. Now for the show. This was a combination of acting, jokes, and audience participation. After the rules were explained, we were encouraged to make our way around the room to talk to the other participants to see if you could identify any suspects. The show started with a "murder" and clues were given through QR codes using your phone. Between courses, the actor led us through the story and interacted with the audience. Halfway through, the meal was served. After the dessert course, the actors started the final part of the show. There was a second and third murder, more clues, and the audience was then asked for the provided "who done it" questionnaires. Once collected the show staff went through the clues and announced the winner. The murder mystery part of the event was a little hit and miss for me. One of the neat things was that we had three of the hidden actors at our table. One was obviously part of the performance, but the other two were revealed in the end as actors in the show. During the pre-meal and meal time, they carried on table talk and added their input about suspects and clues just as if they were guests in the audience. Their reveal as part of the show at the end was very surprising to my party and made it very enjoyable. On the other hand, the website with the description of the event suggests "you will not find yourself staring at cheesy costumes, there will be no recited campy dialogue and certainly no hokey song and dance," My party believed all of this was in the show to some extent. I do understand each scripted show could have better writing and different actors which might make a difference. My party also believed that there was too much information and clues provided in the last ten minutes of the show for any guest to actually solve the crime. However, maybe my group wasn't up to speed or different shows/performances could be better planned. All in all, it was a good time.
