Ahem, ahem 3 pairs of pants to hem. Just bought some slacks for work and of course, they are way too long so I headed here. I decided I should support the local husband and wife shop that's been in the Gresham area for 20 years. I did business here about 5 years ago when I had taken my daughter's prom dress in for some altering. The owner worked on the gown so fast and efficient I swear there were bluebirds around her whistling some Cinderella Disney song. She had my 3 pairs of pants hemmed in 2 days and the price was very competitive with other businesses like this one. She got it done faster though and still charged the same. The owners are sweet folks, easy going, and always seem to be busy. read more

Do not use them I took in a coat that had a big rip in the back, they sewed it up but it left a big pucker! oh well, I guess I can wear it to do yard work. my next trip in was to see if they could sew on some lace to 2 pillow cases that I had worked on for a year embroidering. I was so proud of my work and looked forward to giving the set as a wedding gift. I wish I would have looked them over closer when I picked them up. It was awfu, I wanted to cry. We took 4 suits in to have the pants altered and 2 coats sleeves. The price was amazing! It was $10 for pants and $25 for the sleeves. This was a fraction of the cost of the company that sells men's suits. The owner gives excellent customer service. Quickly attended to measuring. Changing rooms and area to measure. The ready date was accurate. In fact, my sons pant hem came out and she fixed it and had it ready to go the next day. Depending on time of year, it can end up being a week to pick up. Not in this case! She had it fixed promptly. Highly recommend. read more

Came here on a whim before my trip to LA looking to shorten the length of my shirt so I'll be able to wear it on my vacation! The lady who helped me gave me a date that was a little too late as it wouldn't have been finished on time for my trip, so I asked her if she can get it done faster! And what do you know, she was able to get it finished within a day! My shirt came out fitting right and I was extremely satisfied with how the shirt looked after. Great shop. Woks efficiently and does what they can for their clients to get their stuff done quickly. They give you an expected date when you drop off the item of when you can pick it up again. Very sweet, easy going people. They have done everything from hay nets to dresses for people in my family. If you work sometimes it can be hard to make their hours but overall a great local place. read more

Had a bridesmaid dress altered and she did a great job! Reasonable pricing, good turnaround time. I also had her hem a few pairs of pants-they ended up being too short even pairing with the flats I wore to the fitting so I need to find another place to have the hem lowered. Wow - just wow. I had this crazy multi layered dress that I needed altered within 5 days and I really didn't think anyone would be able to get it done that quick for a reasonable price.... Well, I was wrong. Lisa and her husband knocked my dress out in 3 and that was even after I came in to try it on and I busted the zipper. They fixed it and put in a much stronger zipper without an extra fee. They were both SO incredibly friendly and treated me like family - plus, my bill was only $25. I do a lot of thrift store shopping and am often in need of alterations on clothes so you can bet they will have a customer for life. read more

They were so nice and I would not say in a hurry more like steady pace. It took about 4 days to get 5 pairs of pants hemmed. When my fiance got his pants back the hems were all pretty crooked. Also he had a nick in the most expensive brand new pair. We called them several times and they never responded. I would go somewhere else. read more

I've been going to Hems in a Hurry since winter formal of my freshman year of high school. It's always been okay, everything I wanted done had been done and the owners were nice enough about it. Except this last time, I went into have a dress for an upcoming event hemmed. She asked me to try it on, but I couldn't reach the zipper. So I came out of the dressing room and asked for her to help. She tried many times to zip it (the zipper is a little difficult), and then says "and you've gotten this dress on before?" never have been so shocked at someone's unprofessional attitude. I left feeling huge. Needless to say I went and bought four pairs of spanx for this event- even though I know this dress fits fine. read more

I've gone to Lisa for three years. She does good work, if you're not in a hurry. I liked her service better when she was in a smaller shop on Division. She seems to have gotten "too" big. She can't handle the workload. I had five pairs of pants to be taken in for my skinny legs and she said it would take a month(!) because it was homecoming season. Ok - fine. I went back a month later at 11AM and her husband says "Oh, she's just finishing up. It will be about an hour." ??? Well, I spent the afternoon on the west side, and you know what that means..........traffic(!!), so I didn't make it back by closing time. I'm only off on Sun & Mon, so I go back the following Monday and hubby says, "You shoulda waited - she was done like an hour after you left." Again - ??? Oh, and by the way, you might think that after SIX WEEKS, they would have given me a break on the price? Um.........no. read more
