If I could give less stars I would! Me and my friends all came to this place to get bridesmaids dresses made for a wedding we were in. The owner of the business, Iris, was rude, unorganized, and a terrible communicator. She changed her story constantly about when I could come in for fittings and multiple times redid the same things from the fitting before because she "lost" my measurements. We had to remind her countless times how the dresses were supposed to look since she kept making them incorrectly. They were $100 each and once we actually got them, one of the girls had a 2 inch hole in it because the seam was not sown all the way. This was the most frustrating woman to deal with and I had to go in 7 times before my dress was ready, I would never ever go back here. Please don't bother taking your business here. read more

The woman told me it would take approximately 2 hours to complete curtains that would replace the original curtains that divide our pop-up camper. Not only did it take 10 days longer than the 7 that she estimated she also charged me $140 FOR TWO SIMPLE CURTAINS THAT I PROVIDED THE FABRIC FOR. I saw advertisements in JoAnn's and then looked at Yelp. The reviews were all negative. Because I needed the dress altered for an event in 5 days I was desperate. After talking with the owner and operator, Iris, she informed me that she works mainly by herself with occasional assistance and explained that she had gotten into a car accident. Iris promised my dress back and done by Saturday. I needed the dress on Sunday. Knowing I might be taking a risk, I did have a backup dress, but it wouldn't be as fun as the one I took in. Iris asked me to call on Friday to see if it might be ready, and so I did. She said she'd have my dress done and pressed by Saturday morning. The dress fit well and I got to wear he perfect dress for a wonderful event. Thank you Iris! read more

Really frustrated and annoyed at this point. I brought a dress in on a Monday. Told Iris I needed it by Thursday and I'm willing to pay the rush fee. Thursday comes and the dress is not ready so she tells me 11:30 am Friday. I call Friday and it's still not ready, so she says 4:30 pm. I call at 4:30 pm and the dress is STILL NOT ready!!! It's Saturday, the day of my event. She told me 10 am "as soon as I open". I am calling and calling there is no answer, her mailbox is FULL! I had to have my sister drive and check her. I'm refusing to pay for her services because it is 2 days past the rush date and rush fee I paid her for!!!! read more

Iris is a wonderful lady with incredible skill in the lost art of alterations. In a world of "throw away instead of fix" and instant gratification, Iris continues to repair and renew clothing. Her shop isn't a showpiece, it's a work station. You are entering into a place where she does a job you aren't able, so don't judge. Give her credit for her talent and pay her fairly. I've had her alter wedding and prom dresses, as well as hem pants and sew buttons. Each time she eyes it without tons of measurement and each time I return to find it fits like a custom made item. Iris works for herself, as well as some high-end retail stores who again need her talents. She is a lovely lady so don't hesitate to visit her... I can't in good conscious recommend Super Seams or Iris to anyone who is looking to get their wedding gown tailored. Iris caused a lot of unneeded stress during my wedding planning year. She scheduled our first fitting in July and missed our appointment. She closed her shop that day and I waited outside for about 40 minutes with my gown, shoes, and undergarments she asked me to bring. Once we rescheduled and we were on the same page (or so we thought), she said the gown would be done by August 1. When I showed up for the final fitting, once again she closed her shop early and did not think to call, email, or reach out to inform she was canceling the appointment. When I showed up at her shop the following day, I saw that she deprioritized my gown and had not made any alterations. Iris is unreliable, unprofessional, and it was quite frustrating working with her. read more

I paid Iris in advance to fix a broken zipper on my camera bag. She gave me a ticket and said it would be done in 1 week. Time to pick it up today and it was laying on the floor in the back of her shop. I picked it up and it was still broken. She asked to see the date on my ticket. She said come back in 1 hour and I did, store was closed for lunch..I came back again and she had fixed it. I was pleased with the mend and started to leave When she said I still owed her because she hadn't stamped my ticket along with writing the amount I paid. I told her I had indeed paid, I told how I had paid, and to ask her assistant that had been standing behind her the morning I had left it because he watched me pay her. Yikes! Talk about turning a good experience into bad. She said just take it and I left not knowing if she ever did remember. Just a heads up, Make sure you get everything in writing and don't leave until she "stamps" your ticket if you pay in advance. read more

I wish I would have found these ratings before I went in. My husband had some things done and they turned out good. He said "she can do everything and look how good it is!" He also told me how quickly she turns things around. I bought a couple designer things in Florida for our 30th wedding anniversary vacation in Mexico. I took a couple things in and she said it would be a week. I asked what time I should come and she said they will be ready when we open on Saturday. I went at 2:00 in the afternoon and she said "oh I forgot, come back in 30 minutes" I told her not to rush and I'd come back in a few hours. I went back at 430. Didn't try it on until I was getting ready for bed ... it's ruined! I could barley get it on because she took the shoulder straps on way too far and it's so short I look like an umpa lumpa in it. I'm devastated!! It was my favorite designed jump suit. I found one final one left on line and I'm considering buying it. What a waste of money and happiness. read more
