I moved to Napa almost a year ago and was in need of finding a new stylist, somehow I was led to Katy , ( I had no thought that I would find my forever stylist) but OH MY GOSH!! Ok I needed color ..bad those pesky grays but also the condition of my hair after wearing extensions for almost 10 years left my hair a hot unhealthy mess so I've been on a mission to get my hair healthy again , I needed a stylist that understood my mission but was also confident that they could safely color my hair without undoing all I've been working at ..I am SO impressed with Katy ! She decided that in order to keep the integrity of my hair we would approach lightening my hair at a slower pace to play it safe (gotta love her for that) and I'm already loving it , it's a process , I get it , and I definitely do not want to damage my hair any further, thank you Katy! This review is for Jamie. She's amazing. I hate finding new hair stylists because of some traumatic hair color experiences in my past. I will search for reviews before committing to a new person and so want to help out the next person looking. I recently moved to the area and put off doing my hair for as long as possible. I saw some pictures of Jamies hair and read good things about her so I decided to give it a try. It was such a good experience. My hair is curly and in my opinion hard to get a flattering cut correctly. I love the cut she gave me. She adviced me that I needed certain layers around my face that would compliment the structure of my face. She wasn't wrong. It's such a easy style to upkeep also as I'm lazy and often can't be bothered to spend a lot of time styling it. The color also turned out so good. Again I'm more low maintenance Color kind of girl. Stick to my highlights/low lights and want the grow out to look seamless because I don't go as often as some people. So far I can't even see the grow out. The color blended beautifully and really complements my base color. This all takes several hours and can feel like a whole day but I honestly didn't feel like much time had passed when I was done because I enjoyed talking to her so much. The place itself is very cute and an enjoyable place to be. I just really feel like I hit the jackpot here. read more

Jamie is amazing!! I was in town for Bottle Rock and wanted to look my best for the weekend. I booked her for a blowout and it was hands down the best experience I've ever had with a stylist. I have longer hair that's pretty flat and limp but she made it look fabulous. So full and shiny. Great body and it held curl throughout a weekend of dancing. Its been years, time to update my review. Just so you know, I drive down from Reno every 4 weeks to see Brandyn and the hens of the house. Every gal is great, when Brandyn is on vacation, the gals will fill in and use my hair card to make sure my color formula is right. I have never been cancelled on and I get white glove service every time. I consider Brandyn to be family and I have been going to her since she was 22, she is my ride or die in the hair world. I get asked all the time if I am a hairstylist, cause my hair is always on point, she is an artist and my head is her canvas. Finding Hen House Salon was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Everyone I worked with was extremely helpful during the whole process. I can't thank them enough for making my wedding party look amazing! I first contacted Brandyn, the owner, with some specifics of what I had in mind. She didn't have exact match but sent me similar examples that demonstrated she understood what was looking for. Alyssa nailed my makeup trial on the first try with the inspiration photos that I provided. Kendall let me try a few options at my hair trial to help me figure out what I liked best since I was still undecided and unsure. In the month up to the wedding, Kendall was already helpful in providing guidance on scheduling the day to ensure we had enough time to accommodate everyone. On the day of my wedding, both showed up on time. Because Alyssa documented her work from the trial, she easily replicated the makeup look plus made some changes I requested. Kendall did the same - while we didn't use the styles we tried at the trial, she was still able to replicate the look based off of an inspiration photo. My bridesmaid described them as "making magic". And my MOH, who doesn't usually wear makeup, looked both incredible and comfortable. We finished ahead of schedule with a whole hour to kill. One caveat is that I was not required to have a contract, largely in part due to COVID, which has its pros and cons. Most people would probably advise this and I will admit it did make me a little nervous.
