My daughter's patient rights were violated and after sending a complaint letter, the certified mail response we received had a disconnected number. That was the theme of watching her stay here.... Disconnected.. It was easy to see the inexperience and even audacity of staff as I have worked in various hospitals in Vegas. To make matters worse because unnecessary tests were ordered (maybe to compensate for incompetence or not knowing how to follow a standard algorithm) our insurance did not cover what it should have. Long story short, all that glitters is not gold. I would easily go to st rose,umc or sunrise before stepping foot in this place again. read more

I was having a very scary morning and was spitting up blood clots and went to receive care at West Henderson Hospital. Where Adam A the emergency room RN did my intake. RN Adam A was very attentive and listened to every concern I had. I was blessed to have to excellent Nurses whom showed nothing but empathy and compassion for me. I was in a lot of pain and actually afraid but I remained prayerful. I was told by Dr Kim that I needed to see a gastroenterologist which was not available at the hospital. I felt this was strange but I only wanted to get back home in my own bed. Thanks RN Hilary and Nurse Nancy (of Kenya) for taking care of me. read more

This place is still a secret...for now! The waiting room is never as crowded as other hospital ER rooms in the South Las Vegas area. We were seen within 10 minutes upon arrival. They ran a bunch of tests and released my Mother-in-Law to go home after about 6.5 hours. The staff was friendly and showed concern for the patient. read more

Hey Yelpers! I was here for a couple days after a surgical procedure. The facility is so nice. It has only been open a few months so the place is clean and new. It is beautifully designed and appointed. My recovery room on the third floor had a great view I could stop and take in while getting in my walking The staff did an amazing job caring for me both before and following the surgery. They made sure I was aware of where we were at in the process and were respectful at all times. The check in staff were fast and friendly. I enjoyed how my check-in person, Teffany, had a short biography posted on her window to help personalize the experience. Another great surprise was a get well card I got from the pre-op nurses (Willen, Alan, Melissa, and Stefanie) who helped get me ready that morning. There is also a long list of staff who were so attentive and caring while I rested upstairs. I will edit this to add them later. Through my experiences as a visitor and patient, I can say that Henderson West Hospital (both the facility and the staff) does its best to make a stressful time in your life as comfortable as possible. If you have an option, this is a place to seek attention for your medical needs. read more

Our first experience with West Henderson was in the ER. Marcia and Cassidy were so kind. The ER doc was nice and gave a tentative diagnosis but advised us if my daughter had any more issues to come back. A week later she was significantly worse so back to the ER we went. This time the ER was full, but they still took the time to triage and make sure all the patients were being addressed. Marcia was there again and remembered my daughter which was comforting. The new doctor was thorough and went over the records from the previous visit. Based on her symptoms it was decided that she needed to be admitted. I appreciate so much that although she has a difficult diagnosis, no one made her feel bad. They could see something was wrong and took it seriously. The admitting doctor came down to check on her in the ER before she was brought up. She spent three days in the hospital. Every nurse, tech, doctor and staff member were patient, kind and supportive. I have never been to a hospital where patients and their families are treated this well. What an incredible experience. After many tests, the neurologist, Dr K and the rehab therapist came up with a plan for diagnosis and treatment. Before discharge they helped make follow up appointments with the necessary doctors who would be taking over her care. I highly recommend this hospital. read more

My mom has had to go here twice this year for emergencies, and both times she was seen quickly and everyone was so nice. The hospital was super clean, and not crowded. The room they put her in when she had to be admitted one of the times was huge. I felt the quality of care and the facilities were so solid I was thinking if I had to deliver a baby in a hospital again, I would much rather do it here than at saint rose like I did for my first. Another plus is I always can find parking close to the entrance. They still had floors that weren't open the last time we were there as they were still needing more staff since they are newer. read more

My wife and I went there this morning. I have prostate cancer and I'm on a catheter. I had to have the catheter changed because it was in over 6 weeks and I couldn't get an appointment with my urologist til next week. The 2 nurses that took care of me were excellent Jamie and Amy. They changed my catheter, no pain, no problem. It's not always a pleasant experience but they made me feel relaxed and comfortable. West Henderson is a modern and excellent hospital with an excellent staff, nursing assistants, nurses, PA's and administrative staff and everyone else. I especially thank Jamie and Amy who took care of me today. read more

Our air conditioning went out and our house was almost 98°. My mother started suffering from heat exhaustion so I rushed her to the hospital. The staff was amazing! Everyone was caring and listened to our questions and concerns and was right there for us the entire time. Nurses, Riza and Chris were on fire! I'm really surprised at how quickly the level of care has downgraded since the grand opening that wasn't too long ago! I love how quickly I am called back after checking in how friendly the staff is but I don't like misinformation and the feeling of being dismissed! The nurses seem to be running around trying to figure out what's going on! One of the nurses complained they are understaffed and the top floor of the hospital isn't even open!! So patients who are admitted may have to spend days on an uncomfortable and cold gurney in the ER! It took everything for me to get my husband to finally go to the ER for soreness and a rash that developed on his nose after being exposed to gasoline fumes at work. Things went well in the beginning. The doctor looked at his nose, asked a few questions and said he would run some tests, take some images, and prescribe something for the pain and irritation. He was a bit rushed but we trusted him! Once we were called back to a room, we never saw the doctor again!!! Every 30 to 45 minutes, I stopped a nurse to ask if they can provide Tylenol or something for my husband's pain and discomfort, each nurse said "I"ll check" and was never heard from again! He remained in uncomfortable pain for hours!! Blood was drawn although we were told they aren't equipped with the right tests for chemical poisoning! His blood came back with no traces of poisoning based on their substandard test! Then workman's comp paperwork was given to my husband, he filled it out and the doctor, with his limited knowledge, said he could not see the correlation between my husband's symptoms and exposure to harmful gas fumes! Really?!? The State of Nevada Poison Control website says differently!!! So he made the paperwork invalid!! Needless to say the doctor never followed up or even bothered to ask if we had questions! We were asked to leave the room and sit in the waiting area so they could keep the room available for new patients! The wait room was empty?!? And umm.. my husband was still a patient in need of care!! His pain wasn't a good enough reason?!? So he sat in the waiting area with a needle for an IV in his arm and was eventually discharged by the front desk?!? Needless to say, my husband did not get a prescription for the pain in his nose that spread to his upper lip and forehead, the blood test was inadequate, and the workman's comp paperwork was insufficient! And if there was any chance of me ever getting my husband to go to the doctor again, it was lost on this lengthy, disappointing, and expensive visit!! He left the same way he arrived and muttered "This was such a waste of time and money!" read more

She's currently on the fifth floor and everyone has been wonderful. They are attentive to mom's needs and have been very patient since my mom was admitted on Monday. West Henderson Hospital Review I was at West Henderson Hospital on Friday night around 9 PM and stayed until about 2 AM, and I have to say the entire experience was excellent. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff, nurses, and doctor were all kind, professional, and attentive. I was brought back to a room within about 10 minutes of waiting, which was impressive for an ER visit. Even Security went out of their way to be helpful and supportive. What really stood out to me was that the doctor personally followed up with me on Sunday, which I thought was truly wonderful and showed real care for their patients. This hospital exceeded my expectations in every way -- clean, efficient, and compassionate care. I highly recommend West Henderson Hospital to anyone in need of excellent medical attention. read more

We had an excellent experience at West Henderson Hospital while caring for my elderly father-in-law who arrived at the ER. From the moment he arrived, the staff showed genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism. They took wonderful care of him medically, but what truly stood out was how human and supportive they were throughout the process. The nurses and care team went out of their way to cheer him up, speak to him with kindness and respect, and make sure he felt comfortable and reassured. Those small moments of encouragement meant more than they probably realize. Dr. K took time to explain next steps clearly, helped us navigate aftercare, and answered questions without ever making us feel rushed or overwhelmed. It made a stressful situation so much easier to manage. He also provided encouragement on how to improve my father in laws quality of life at home. My father went into the ER twice, both times the staff was very kind and attentive. He was admitted. Shout out to Alex for being a great nurse. He was very professional, thorough, and had a very calm demeanor. I really appreciated that they had a director (Talia) come by daily to check that standards were being followed. I liked that they always had the daily care plan printed out. I do wish that the board in the room would show what doctors had already come by that day and if any others were expected. what a great Hospital! West Henderson Hospital! My boyfriends nurse April is amazing and keeps us updated often and is super friendly and does not make you feel like you're in a hospital. She is very kind and thorough. There was always somebody here willing to help you or assist in anyway. I've never been to a hospital this great before! I normally never have any good experiences when I go to them, but this one is very very on top of everything and they have a very great team. Especially on the third floor they are all amazing!!! The come around with infused drinks and snacks and are genuine people. I love it!! I wish more hospitals could be like that. They are never too busy for you!! Stay far away from here. And get me wrong when I got here. The nursing staff was amazing helpful and I have been here for a week tomorrow and seeing multiple doctors in different departments doctors my main plan of care kept changing typical setting well then yesterday decided it was time for me to go home, I only had one of the components out of three that I have been told they wanted me to have before I was discharged. Including an script which I have to finish getting rid of my pneumonia and it was denied so had to go through the Dr and pharmacy here. I would've had to come back to get the script filled because they don't do prior authorizations at the bothered to check about that which I have a long list of medical history that is terminal so it's best for me to stay out of the hospital so trying to explain to Dr. Q who apparently is top Dr here so you have to deal with him while you're here which is why I highly recommend you go somewhere else because he decided to discharge because he had his friend on the phone for the for one of the components I needed to leave and since his friend said I have everything I he wouldn't stop talking and listen to me to and to say my side and what I was trying to say and let him know that I didn't have the rest so once my stopped running and it's getting ready for me to go home and they I don't have the other two components they call the of course he's gone and he said OK. I discharge and keep you for another night and doesn't give him my medication which is for pain pain because I have stage four cancer in my breast all my my brain so it's a major pain which is handled at home by my palliative care and he took my and cut it to a quarter and refused to change it like I was in here just for the medicine when I was getting and have a script with my name on it for four times the medication but wouldn't listen because he claims he stopped my medication because I was getting ready to go home and they can't give it to you right before you go home which that part makes sense the day because we have to finish other stuff he refused to put it back the same way the night nurse or whoever gave me one at 9 o'clock at night and said that's all she because of the note by Dr. Q he doesn't advocate for his patient doesn't even listed to them . I actually thought I found a hospital in Nevada that cared for the customers and I can't say any better things about the nursing staff I think I had everybody that but one that was pleasant that was helpful. That was right there not hours or anything that I've been read about truly amazing when it comes to them and he's the head of this hospital for their doctors and everything goes through him so go as far away as you can. not worth being treated like that. read more

Admittance staff is completely useless. Took my son for out patient surgery was scheduled at 4pm. Was called at 11am and asked if we could come sooner as Dr available earlier than expected. Showed up sent to wrong place to check in for surgery. Went to check in and told insurance hasn't preapproved procedure. Call insurance and told the approval should not stop the surgery and hospital is well aware of this. Not to mention we have dual coverage for insurance. on top of that they wanted us the pay our max out of pocket for insurance policy $5500. After two hours going back and forth with staff and insurance company. Staff tells us it's too late for surgery today and to leave. All this after them calling us 5 hrs before scheduled surgery and asking us to come early. Admin staff has no clue what they are doing. We will not be back and going elsewhere for my son's surgery. read more

Complaint regarding Marco Hernandez MD at West Henderson ER has been filed and is currently under investigation by Nevada State Board of Examiners. Doctor Hernandez left a dementia in ER for eight hours before care was administered resulting in a chronic UTI which took patient death in February 2026.The ratio of CNA to patient is 16 to one. read more

This review of West Henderson Hospital is for an emergency trip to the hospital on Monday, August 18, 2025. A family member was experiencing severe abdominal and back pain. 911 was called and suggested West Henderson Hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital about 30 minutes after our family member arrived by ambulance we were directed back to his room in ER. He was still in extreme distress and pain. When I asked the nurse, Cassie, if he had been given anything for the pain she told me they were waiting on lab results. When I asked her what had been done so far she became defensive. I was surprised by her cold attitude and seeming indifference. I felt as though I was inconveniencing her by asking questions. Though she certainly could tell we were very concerned - there was no compassion or attempt made to let us know what what the plan was for figuring out what was going on. Her shift ended a couple of hours later - and as the shift change took place there was a lot of loud conversation between her and her colleague whose shift was just beginning. Being right across from the nurses's station - we were forced to listen to their conversation centering around what was going on in the one colleague's personal life. It was extremely unprofessional. Fortunately, it all tuned out okay for my family member. But I will never go back to West Henderson Hospital and I will be letting my network of friends and family know of our experience at West Henderson Hospital. read more

Going to this emergency room was the worst experience I have ever had. I came in once before on the day it opened. Then I went yesterday (2/20/25.) ImI will never go back!! The ER doctor was rude and condescending. I was there for a flare up of chronic kidney disease and a grand mal seizure I had. Nobody cared because I have had CKD for years now. I'm stage four. I put my experiences in the following bullet points: 1. The ER doctor and the nurses (especially Michelle, who was my night shift nurse) were uncaring. 2. I wasn't given a call light for several hours. 3. Although I have a port, their ER policy was that I had to have a peripheral IV put in. I have had a central line since 2017 because my veins are covered with scar tissue, small and squiggly. I was in 10/10 pain; my whole body hurt from the seizure. They prodded and poked although I cried and pleaded for them to use the central line. That's why I had it put in; my veins are so difficult to access from the 80 PICC lines I've had put in. It took hours and I was covered in blood until they got one. 4. Nobody checked on me or gave me a call light. 5. The doctor told me I wasn't sick enough to be admitted. I know my body and my history. I was born with Spina Bifida 50 years ago. 6. My urine sample was not cultured; the doctor admitted to me that he looked at previous records from based his diagnosis on that. I was given Augmentin, which I am allergic to. 7. He said that he was the one with letters after his name. I also have letters after my name, and three degrees. I don't usually flaunt that, but I was in such pain, I flaunted my credentials, like an entitled jerk. 8. I had a brand new Marilyn Manson hoodie on. It got covered with blood, and thrown away. The nurse said I "shouldn't be wearing that in public." That judgment call was unprofessional! It's nobody else's decision but mine. NB: I have met Manson several times, cried on his shoulder when I'd just been told I was terminally ill and the pain was unbearable, The last time I saw him, I couldn't stop crying because it could very well have been my last Manson concert, and he said he was happy that I was able to fight this long and come to see him. Nobody at that hospital, or elsewhere, has had the nerve to judge me whom I associate with! 9. The hospital has a policy for making patients arrange their own transport arrangements to go home. I had to use a credit card, found out right then that the ride was nearly $300 and I didn't have enough of a credit limit to cover it. The facility pays. Even the GMT scheduler said it was not my responsibility to pay for the ride. I had to beg! I had to beg for the ER to get me home. I had come by ambulance and didn't have my wheelchair with me, so I couldn't call a cab. My parents are older and not in good health (my mother was a patient this same day in the ER.) I had no other way to get home. 10. I was promised by the nurse that I could get Benadryl (itching, aka pruritus, is a known symptom of CKD.) She never returned and I didn't get my dose. Although it is a new hospital and close to my home, I will never go again. The staff I had were rude, condescending and uncaring. They need to do better! Just because I have a long term condition, I have the same right to be treated with dignity and compassion! My mother, who had a cardiac scare, is not terminal nor "too medically complicated," had a similar experience today. The staff also came in to my room to share details of her condition, and vice versa. Whether related or not, openly sharing details of another patient is breaking confidentiality and wrong. Las Vegas is not known for excellent medical care, but this was worse than I'd been treated. I don't want to die at 50, so I'll be moving hopefully soon. They have dedicated care facilities for adults with Spina Bifida in Vancouver, BC. I've done my research, and was welcomed for an evaluation the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre, at Vancouver General. I have a chance to live a bit longer there, so it'll be worth the trip. If I pass away, during the trip, at least I'll have done my best to save myself. read more

I wanted to leave my review for Brittany Cain, a speech therapist at West Henderson Hospital. A few weeks ago my father had to go due to a recurring swallowing problem. Hospital stays are never a fun thing, so to have a healthcare provider who was SO genuine, warm, attentive, as well as knowledgeable & professional means a lot. Even my mother (who is normally a hard sell) took to her instantly. These kind of interactions can make all the difference in patient experiences, as well as for their caregivers. West Henderson Hospital, I hope you realize what an exceptional employee you have. I just graduated nursing school, and I strive to be as kind and attentive as Brittany was. It was quick to get treatment in the ER but then the problem was trying to get a bill. They had no problem billing our insurance but we still were waiting around for a bill three months later. The hospital is beautiful and the medical employees attentive but they have yet to figure out the business operations apparently. Their customer service is terrible and it is impossible to speak directly about billing issues. They really need some assistance to respond to patient billing questions. This valley desperately needs good medical care but that includes the business operations side of it too. Obviously the Valley Hospital System shortchanged that part of the process at this new West Henderson Hospital. They need business operational advice ASAP. Absolutely worst care one can receive . Brought my sister in law here with stroke symptoms . I pulled up to ambulance entrance because that was the closest entrance and I needed her to have immediate medical care and the emts sitting by the ambulance absolutely refused to help me telling me to park and walk in. When I replied she can not walk they walked in the building . That is what the health care here looks like then I pulled to the er entrance asked for a wheel chair and no one assisted security didn't even get off of their ass.
