Once there I was almost immediately provided a room and a number of tests were performed very quickly thereafter. The medical professionals that took care of me were wonderful. They were caring and I felt I was receiving excellent care. I was in the emergency room longer than I would have liked but I understand that they had to do several different tests hours apart. During and after these tests, the doctor kept me informed on what was going on and what to expect. I thought she provided excellent service as well. Even more impressive was she called me the following day to see how I was doing. If I need hospital care again, I know Henderson Hospital would be my first chose.

The nurse tells me that I will continue to cry until I quit moving. My pain level was 10+, agony. She said that she can give one pain pill, than sat in front of her computer without another word. Now I am taken to my room, still crying in pain. Nurses get me settled in. I noticed that my bed is inflating and deflating and every time it does that, excruciating pain. The nurses come back in an hour for a check, I asked them to please turn the mechanism off that is making the bed do this. So the nurse it pushes some button and leaves. Lo and behold, the bed is still doing this. Another person comes in and I tell them the same thing, they push some buttons and leave, again the bed is still inflating and deflating. This cycle goes on from 3 in the afternoon until 9:30, I ask every person that comes into my room to please fix my bed. At this point I am thinking that they're just sadistic and enjoy seeing patients in pain. I was already in pain from the surgery and then they caused me more for 6 1/2 hours. The nurse in charge that evening said that she would have her manager or supervisor come talk to me, no one ever showed up. They finally replaced the bed. The nurses during the day were also an hour to almost 2 hours late, giving me my pain medication. My pain never went away during the day. I cried non stop from the time I woke up from surgery about noon until 2am, the next day. During the day, I also rang a nurse because I had to go to the bathroom. It took them 45 minutes to come help me. By the time a nurse got to my room and assisted me getting up, I peed all the way to the bathroom. How humiliating! Since the manager or supervisor never came to my room so that I could voice my complaints, Henderson Hospital has given me no choice but to air my grievances here. What a miserable stay, I cannot wait to go home.

Furthermore..she takes forever to do her rounds and doesn't come in until the afternoon and when you haven't slept for more than 3 days...the day time seems to be the quietest. As I was napping she storms in without knocking, turns all the lights on and opens my blinds saying "I like my patients to stay awake during the day" UNBELIEVABLE. Last night, I came in to the same place because of the care I received before and the equipment I do know that they have. The doctor on shift the first time was a middle eastern male who listened and I wasn't disappointed with. The last recent trip was a brunette female who did not understand why I needed thorough diagnostic for what I was describing. Pulses of inflammation and nerve issues in connection with an allergic response. Instead of doing an ultrasound for visual, physical check/inspection, blood draw or any other type of way doing a diagnosis. She just didn't take what I was saying seriously and disregarded it as not a big deal. She also lied and told me they did not have an ultrasound imaging device in house. Ongoing inflammation could lead to a cancer if not stopped or irreversible ovarian damage and my uterus being removed. That's a worst case scenario but possible especially with lack of medical attention. Hence why I chose an emergency room.... I'm an insured patient through United and not state medical so it's concerning why there would be any hiccups in proper care. My urgent care copay is $50 and I was not even asked for copay which seemed odd unless they bill insurance first.

I love how quickly I am called back after checking in how friendly the staff is but I don't like misinformation and the feeling of being dismissed! The nurses seem to be running around trying to figure out what's going on! One of the nurses complained they are understaffed and the top floor of the hospital isn't even open!! So patients who are admitted may have to spend days on an uncomfortable and cold gurney in the ER! It took everything for me to get my husband to finally go to the ER for soreness and a rash that developed on his nose after being exposed to gasoline fumes at work. Things went well in the beginning. The doctor looked at his nose, asked a few questions and said he would run some tests, take some images, and prescribe something for the pain and irritation. He was a bit rushed but we trusted him! Once we were called back to a room, we never saw the doctor again!!! Every 30 to 45 minutes, I stopped a nurse to ask if they can provide Tylenol or something for my husband's pain and discomfort, each nurse said "I"ll check" and was never heard from again! He remained in uncomfortable pain for hours!! Blood was drawn although we were told they aren't equipped with the right tests for chemical poisoning! His blood came back with no traces of poisoning based on their substandard test! Then workman's comp paperwork was given to my husband, he filled it out and the doctor, with his limited knowledge, said he could not see the correlation between my husband's symptoms and exposure to harmful gas fumes! Really?!? The State of Nevada Poison Control website says differently!!! So he made the paperwork invalid!! Needless to say the doctor never followed up or even bothered to ask if we had questions! We were asked to leave the room and sit in the waiting area so they could keep the room available for new patients! The wait room was empty?!? And umm.. my husband was still a patient in need of care!! His pain wasn't a good enough reason?!? So he sat in the waiting area with a needle for an IV in his arm and was eventually discharged by the front desk?!? Needless to say, my husband did not get a prescription for the pain in his nose that spread to his upper lip and forehead, the blood test was inadequate, and the workman's comp paperwork was insufficient! And if there was any chance of me ever getting my husband to go to the doctor again, it was lost on this lengthy, disappointing, and expensive visit!! He left the same way he arrived and muttered "This was such a waste of time and money!"

I didn't feel like a person--I felt like a lab rat. I often felt unheard, dismissed, and treated as if my emotions and experiences didn't matter. It damaged my trust not only in the people at this facility, but also in the people who believed sending me here would help. That's heartbreaking, because I went there expecting support and healing. I understand that every patient's experience is different, but mine was overwhelmingly negative. I left with more PTSD symptoms than I came in with, and the emotional impact of my stay has stayed with me long after being discharged. I sat in the waiting room until 2:00pm! Christine V. never showed up! I heard her walk into a room of a patient that showed up after me at 1:58pm! There was no communication from the staff letting me know they were short staffed. Nor was there any communication for warning me that the wait would be longer than expected. I left as soon as my lunch break ended 2pm (and returned to work late). I did let the nice receptionist know that no one ever came in the room to see me. She could tell I was upset when I walked out. Do you think anyone called me to apologize? No! Not during the drive home, nor during the remainder of the afternoon or evening! The next day I got a message from the MyChart portal letting me know my prescription refill was denied. The portion I paid for my blood work on 12/24, and the $70 copay for the office was a waste of money!

I can't say enough good things about the care I received here.

Yep. Five stars at an ER. I came in just after 9am after a trip and fall in my new home. I knew…read moresomething was wrong. Very wrong. I got signed in and took a seat, it was probably no more than 10 minutes and I was called back to a room. I was seen by the Doctor and you know what? He knew something was wrong, too. Portable Xray came in to take xrays of my elbow and guess what? Broken. Like .. BROKEN. They put me in a splint and made sure I had a referral to an Ortho for ASAP. When I had some trouble getting the referral to go through, I called back and they helped me get another referral for a different Doctor. All in all, i think I was in the ER for just over an hour. Definitely less than 2 hours. I'm so glad this place is right by my house, both because it's convenient and because I drove myself there with a broken right elbow. Ouch.
