Tried to charge me $600 to pull a dent (I am female). Very silly. Will not be returning.

This is the worst body shop in Durham. First, they don't accept cash. Secondly, receipt is not optional, it should be given regardless of transaction. Thirdly, the manager, Mr. Anthony Henderson is very rude, sarcastic, and the most unprofessional person I met. Fourth, the employees are not courteous and are not willing to be there. DO NOT use this shop for body work. Stay away. Due to previous reviews noting that this place didn't take cards, I confirmed with Mr. Henderson that they did, in fact, take cards. After getting that confirmation and an estimate of $3,500 for some body work, I dropped my car off. He said it'd take about a week, max. Took 2 weeks, and he ended up wanting $1,000 more for the job. THEN, WHEN THE JOB WAS DONE, he said that his card reader was down and it might take 2 weeks or more to fix. THEN he gave some BS excuse about how even if/when it did come back online, he could only put $2,000 on a card transaction. I balked, said I'd wait till his card reader came up and split the bill over cash and card. He said he'd charge me $100 a day as a storage fee for every day I waited. So basically I had no choice but to pay $4,500 cash. He didn't provide an itemized bill--which is illegal in NC. So I have no idea what parts he replaced, what they cost, etc. Now I'm damn near flat broke AND HE STILL DIDN'T FIX EVERYTHING. Twice I've had to bring it back to him to fix stuff he should've caught the first time. And I still have to bring it back to him again, for a 3rd time--still something wrong. Dude has no business being in business. I'm filing a complaint with the NC Consumer Protection Division and the BBB. read more

Please, please, please be careful with this company. They charged 300$ for a 20 minute tow. The problem all started when they did not state they were cash only. Since we did not have cash took the car to their shop. They did not say that would be an additional charge. Then when they finally returned the car they did not provide an itemized bill. I do not trust them. read more

I have never had an issue with Anthony at Henderson's. I've used his shop for many car repairs, when people always rear ended the cars I've owned. He does excellent work and my car always looks brand spanking new. He always gets the job done within a reasonable time for me usually within 2 to 3 days tops. It's always ready on the day he says it will be and if you are financially strapped, he will work with you in providing a reasonable estimate and cost that will be more in line with your financial circumstances. He is doing work on a vehicle for me today in fact (3/20/21) and had it ready in the time he specified. The only reason I can't get the vehicle is because my darned insurance company (Progressive, yes I am putting you on BLAST!!!!) has changed their policy of not cutting the customer the check, so I can have cash in hand to pay Mr. Henderson. They now send payment directly to the business where your car is being serviced. Mr. Henderson has not received payment from them yet and needs to wait for that payment in order to relinquish my vehicle to me. I can tell he feels badly and really wants to give me the vehicle. But he's been burned in the past with the insurance company saying they will send the check in 2 or 3 days or FedEx it and it took two weeks to get his payment. And I totally understand he needs to have his money first. So, I have nothing but a stellar review to give to him. God bless his business. Now, I just hope he receives the check today from Progressive, so I can get my vehicle back today and not have to pay for a rental for another two days and wait until Monday. Progressive SUCKS for this and I will not be renewing my policy with them. read more
