Recent first-time customer to Henderson's, will return whenever our cars need service or repair. My girlfriend's car was initially towed to another nearby shop, but I wasn't satisfied with their recommended scope of repair and associated estimate. I'd had the same repair done several times in the recent past with company fleet vehicles, so had a good idea about what was needed and how much it should cost. Called two other Freehold shops (one was Henderson's) and the quotes were significantly less ($200) for the exact same repair. Both shops also said it probably would be even less due to not needing some of the parts and repair the initial place had recommended. Glad we chose Ed's shop, they caught another serious issue the other may have missed, and which the first shop didn't catch while inspecting the brake system. Turns out we also needed a transmission-related repair. Absolutely trusted his diagnosis, didn't feel like it was shifting properly the few times I'd driven her car. Another few months or so driving with the significantly corroded and leaking lines and she likely would have been looking for a new transmission or car.... Brake AND transmission repair completed at Henderson's came out to same price the initial place quoted for just the brake job. Many thanks to Ed and his crew!!! read more

Called Ed Henderson with an intermittent ABS indicator light on a 2006 Ford Escape. Having seen this problem before, he said he was 85% certain he knew what was causing it. We took the car in late in the day, he confirmed his diagnosis, ordered the part, and completed the repair the next morning. The total price for the repair was only $3.90 more than what our local Ford dealer in Freehold said they would charge just to diagnose the problem!!! We could not have been more delighted with our experience. If you've had enough of unscrupulous service advisors and overcharges at dealerships you can't trust, go see Ed and his team. Not sure if I want to leave this review because I don't want to have to wait on long lines to get services done! Here it goes anyways. My vehicle was shaking at high rates of speed without me hitting the brakes so I brought my car to the dealership where I figured they would be able to figure out the issue. They told me it was my rear brakes and rotors. I was fine with what they said and got a quote that came out to around 700 for them to replace it. I asked them if they are doing the fronts too and they said no! Being sick and tired of giving business to a corporation and being swindled I quickly grabbed my car and left that stealership and went to a recommendation from a friend. So I brought my car to Henderson's on short notice and they were very happy to help me out and check out my car. They ended up finding that no only were my brakes and rotors fine in the rear of the car but that my piston actually was broken which was causing the uneven ware on my front passenger brakes and it also caused the shaking because the piston was not retracing off of the brake. So a few hours later I received a call that my truck was all fixed. I was very eager to see what was done but not so much to see how much the damage was going to cost! I ended up paying around $800 for front brakes and rotors and a new piston in the rear (bulk of the cost). I also had them throw on new pads for the rears since they were fixing the piston. They were very friendly and helpful when it came to diagnosing the problem (that the dealership never even mentioned). I am so happy that I brought it there because the stealership would have never fixed the issue and it would have costed me more than twice as much to have it done correctly. I am sick of giving business to a corporation that doesn't care about my well being. So I am deciding to get all of my work done at Hendersons from now on because at least I know I am supporting a local business and family. I will recommend them to everyone I know and I will continue using them for the many years of me owning a car. read more
