The rain on the roof sounding like rain and not like a deductible. State Farm understood that a long time ago and put it in one line the whole country can still hum. Like a good neighbor. Not like a good corporation. Not like a good premium. A neighbor. Someone close enough to knock on the door for a cup of sugar, and close enough to pick up the phone at eleven at night. There is no Jake at this office. I checked. What there is, is Matthew Sand, and he does the unglamorous work the commercials skip. He looked at what I was actually paying, bundled the home and the auto, and yes, even a golf cart, because at a certain point the cart stops being a toy and starts being a vehicle, a liability, and one more thing you would rather not think about. So I don't. That is the entire review. And when something unforeseen happens, and eventually something always does, Matthew is there for it. Not a queue. Not a chatbot. Not a claim number. A guy who answers, and stays on the line until it's handled. Like a good neighbor. You know the rest.

Dealing with the adjuster assigned to my homeowner's claim was a nightmare from start to finish…read more Little did I realize how useless my agents would be. The claim was filed on April 2nd. We were told that the adjuster would contact us in 24 hours. Didn't happen. I asked for help from my agent and was told they could only send a request to have the adjuster contact us. Still no response. Finally after 5 days I finally heard from the adjuster. He said he was scheduled to do an inspection on a certain day. He didn't show up. Another week went by because he said the roof was too steep for him to climb and he would have to contract an independent company to do the inspection. Finally, the inspection was done on April 17th. Now we were waiting for the adjuster to submit an estimate. Another phone call/vm from me to adjuster on April 21st. He did return my call on April 22nd with estimate. I can see why reports say State Farm is loosing business. The whole process has been extremely stressful. I am looking at other insurance companies and careful reading reviews. I'm done with State Farm.

All I wanted was to confirm that my policy was closed and that I didn't owe any more money. Instead, he couldn't answer basic questions, became confrontational, and told me he could treat me however he wanted because I was "no longer a customer." Every time I asked to speak to someone else, he kept arguing, trying to get the last word, and lying about what he could see in my account. Finally, in a dismissive, aggressive tone, he said, "No, you don't owe," as if he just wanted to shut me up -- sounding uncaring, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. Then he hung up on me. When I called back, he answered with, "Are we really going to keep doing this?" I was stunned. For the fifth time, I asked to speak with someone else and finally got Josh, who was professional, thorough, and able to answer every single question without issue. I should have left much sooner. State Farm's prices kept going up until they were charging me over $260 a month for car insurance -- I had been paying about $150 before. Now, I'm with AAA, paying $170 a month and have my renter's insurance bundled in. It's highway robbery the prices State Farm is trying to enforce. Danny's office lost my business forever. ED was dirty, disgusting, mean, and the final straw. This office will fail because of him and the constant mistakes made by its employees. I wanted to reach out so hopefully they don't get to treat anyone else as they treated me this afternoon.
