Well let's start with booking. You have to create an account with your credit card. Then you have to book an appointment online. Then there are the very strict COVID requirements: show up, call to tell the your there while waiting in your vehicle, temperature check upon entering, requirement to sanitize your hands (that part isn't a big deal), and of course wearing your mask (I'll get to that part next). So when you g through all the hoops of getting an appointment and entering the building you are offers a beverage. So if your required to wear a mask how does one drink their beverage? They charge if you miss an appointment...but when you arrive and they had an "online scheduling error" you're simply sent on your way. To clarify--when you make an online appointment, Henley's requires a credit card and they tell you very clearly that they'll charge it if you don't show. I made an appointment and showed up on time (20 mins drive each way). When I arrived, I was told they're having on line scheduling problems and even though the appointment was at that location, I had to drive to the Wurzbach location. Well...I didn't want to drive through rush hour traffic that much farther away and I wouldn't have been able to get there anytime around my appointment. They refused to fit me in at the location I booked my appointment and simply sent me on my way. I wanted to let the owner know so I called the phone number I found online. Politely asked for the owner or a manager. They said they weren't available. I asked for a number to call them. They don't share "personal information" even though they took my phone number, my email, and my credit card when I booked the appointment. I told the person on the phone that I would prefer to share my frustration with the owner or manager than write a review and she said "Sorry...there's no way I can connect you". So here we are. I'll avoid this kind of place. Lots of other places to get haircuts that value you as a customer and have much better customer service. And ones that don't threaten to charge you for a cancelled appointment but expect you to go home after they make a scheduling mistake. read more

I was forced to end my haircut early. My family was with me. Son got upset. One of the employees asked my wife to leave with my family during the heavy rain forcing her to stand out in the rain with my toddler. All for the purpose of maintaining a certain atmosphere. No signs up about no children. No one seemed upset. Other children were present and getting a haircut. If no young children are wanted, please let us know ahead of time. This is my second time here and it was just as enjoyable as my first! This isn't a quick in and out kind of place, it's about an hour experience at the least! They do a hot towel shave on your neck line, they clean your brows and sideburns, they put a relaxing hot towel on your face while they wash your hair after the cut.. it's very much so a pamper yourself for a little bit situation and it is excellent! Mercedes cut my hair this time and she did a great job with the fade! She was natural with the clippers and put time and effort in to make sure it looked great! Disclaimer 2: I've never written a review before, so while this should carry some significant weight, it might also exceed normal word count limits. The entire issue stems from the owner's decision to disallow same day appointments. I once attempted to make a same day appointment and, although the schedule could have technically accommodated my request, "the company policy forbade it". I was told that "walk-ins were welcome" and that if I hurried and came quickly, I could likely be seen immediately. Since this policy made absolutely no sense, and I didn't have time to risk waiting, I called their competitor down the street who happily took my same day appointment. Fast forward to today. In the area with some time to kill, I recalled my previous conversation and decided to walk-in to Henley's for a hair cut. I was prepared to wait, but never imagined that 2 hours would pass without having my name called. And those aren't exaggerated hours - I arrived at 6:14 pm and finally left at 8:14 pm. How could the same company that once said they preferred to leave same day service open to walk-ins make a customer wait this long? It seems so absurd that I could have called today to make an appointment, saving myself a 2 hour wait, yet would have been denied. This company is basically saying "no sir, don't guarantee us your money, we might have walk-ins come in to give us their money". How.Backwards. I will forever be a last minute haircut kind of guy and someone who prefers to pay for convenience over anything. Unless Henley's decides to modify their inefficient process, they have forever lost my business. read more

Great place but I do not think I will be coming back to this Henley's unless Bianca or Xtina are working. They are the only stylists who meet my expectations and know to cut my hair other than Melena who no longer works there....:(. Today, I went in and paid 50 bucks and my sideburns were off. I scheduled an appt. with Eric, I had given my credit card info to guarantee the appt. (which is required), and I arrived 9 minutes late due to rush hour traffic. I went in for The Classic haircut as it says you get a tailored haircut among other luxuries when they pay $33 for a haircut. I had my consultation with the stylish Mercedes and told her that I would like a low bald fade. She said okay and gave me my tailored haircut. Everything is good. I paid and left. Two days later I look at my bank account and notice that I was charged $43 so I called to see why. I was told that there is an upcharge for a bold fade and the use of clippers. None of this is advertised on the website nor did the stylist tell me any of this. I feel deceived and asked for my $10 back. After waiting an hour for the manager to call me back which she did not I had to call her back, informed me that I wouldn't get my $ 10 back.
